Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Fun House is one of my favorite cds. Raunchy riffs and lyrics abound, and there's catchiness written all over it. "Dirt" stands out to me in particular. Dirt is a suitable and enjoyable intermission to two different parts of the album. The first is straight up, crunching punk. The second part seperated by dirt is a chaotic stew of free jazz, blues, and punk. Its eclectic and amazing and joyful and orgasmic.
Styles 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 I got Aerosmith's "Honkin On Bobo". It's a fun listen. Their most old school and least pop influenced cd since the early 80s...
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 My beef with the Stooges' s/t is the way it's mixed. I hate the way the guitar is put solely in the left audio channel on the first two songs; it wouldn't bug me so much if the rhythm section were a litttle higher in the mix, but they aren't. Anyway, it's still a good album, but it makes me only want to listen to Fun House more.

Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Vendetta Red - Cut Your Noose (EP) Features two of their best songs, "Three Cord Valentine" and "All Cried Out", neither of which show up on their actual major label release, I believe, so that they can include emo song along shit like "Stay Home." Enjoyable and worth three bucks.
jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2004 I bought this great CD by this band called Isabelle's Gift. I'd seen them live twice, once here in Pittsburgh with the Bloodhound Gang, the other time in South Carolina with Clutch. I finally found somewhere selling their CD and I think it's great. You might have trouble finding it, it's not really a major label release, it's just on Jimmy Franks Recording, Jimmy Pop from Bloodhound Gang's record label. They're supposed to be making a new CD right now which I'll definitely pick up. I'm not sure how I'd categorize it, it's just a good rock CD.

Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 I've never heard Vintersorg before, but I really don't like this album. Can't really argue with this because I understand the nature of the music is love or hate. I imagine you wouldn't be too high on the last Borknagar album either than with vintersorg on vocals. Personally I enjoy it far more than vintersorg solo work, simply because Borknagar is Vintersorg's singing and some influence mixed with an existing style. Little less weighty on the Vinterprogression scale.

Guest macheteofodin Report post Posted May 3, 2004 Vital Remains - Dechristianize Dillinger Escape Plan, The - Irony Is a Dead Scene Acid Bath - Paegan Terrorism Tactics Acid Bath - When the Kite String Pops The last three are on backorder at the moment. I got Dechristianize today...pretty good. I only gave it one spin so far, though. My only beef is there is really no slowing down in the entire album. An all out onslaught of speed and loudness can get boring if not displaced by something calmer (something a lot of "extreme" metal bands need to learn).
