Guest ManKinnd Report post Posted February 21, 2004 Angle and all his Germans. Angle is awful at selling most suplexes, as he usually just jumps up to hit one of his own.

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted February 21, 2004 Undertaker. Superkick. Hell in a cell. That was the whole goddamn point of the match, idiot. That Shawn Michaels had for three straight PPVs pissed the Undertaker off to the point where NOTHING he could do to him was going to avert the complete righteous asskicking he was going to get in that match. Keep in mind, this is Deadman Taker and so I can buy that from him.

Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted February 22, 2004 Here's the thing: people shouldn't work RVD's leg in a match. It's a surefire formula for a crappy match. RVD can't do any of his offense in that situation. Which is exactly why it makes complete, logical sense for his opponents to target his legs. It's not their fault that RVD is clueless. Guest Redhawk Report post Posted February 22, 2004 I like it when the crowd no-sells a promo punchline, and also when a wrestler no-sells the audience's reaction to him.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted February 22, 2004 Rob Van Dam sucks more because his offense is just jumping around, making his matches either look stupid or he just no sells. I'm sorry that Ric Flair works the leg in all of his matches and when he has to fight RVD he needs to work the ARM, which would make NO SENSE because RVD doesn't do jack shit with his arms except pose, and he'd probably no sell that. Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2004 In WCW, Hogan totally no-sold a Vader powerbomb. At the time it was probably the most dreaded and guaranteed finisher in wrestling. Amen to that. I actually thought it was impossible to no-sell the move, judging from the horror stories I have seen printed by people who've actually taken the move and detailing how fucking painful it is, such as Foley. I think it garnered that reputation because it just about damn-near knocked you about when you took it. Guess that makes Hogan one tough bastard then. And Zsasz's vengeful Taker post up there had me in hysterics. I love you, man. UYI
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted February 22, 2004 I read in the Wrestlecrap book that Vader actually BROKE A preliminary jobbers back with the powerbomb. Is this kayfabe or legit cause it sounds like it might've happend.
Guest Eric the Eagle Report post Posted February 22, 2004 And, of course, there was the Disneyland taping where some jobber panicked and tried to put his arm down on the powerbomb... Damn, but that was ugly. On that note, I sort of suspect Vader did the kindest, least painful powerbomb in his life to Hogan that night... Otherwise, the indy guy who had his hair in front of his eyes, and thus didn't see the punch coming and completely no-sold it Completely off the WWE, but still the worst no-sell I've ever seen occured on the Valhalla Pro Wrestling show "Culture Shock" in Finland last year. Easyrider (who, incidentally, has just no-sold a MASSIVE four-man beatdown himself), walks of in a rage, for some reason leaving his friend and partner Merlyn, dying in the ring, and finds... the Gorilla position guy! He then proceeds to scream into his face, shake him like a rag doll, and generally look like he's going to kill the poor shmuck... and he just stands there with the stupidest grin of all time, as if he's being hit on by Trish or something... Finally, Easyrider storms off, leaving us watching a grinning, happy idiot... To be fair, there was some really good wrestling on the show, including a very good two out of three falls between AJ Styles and Kid Kash for the NWA-TNA title. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2004 This isnt an example of no-sell, but rather me being disappointed in a great worker's selling during a match. Chris Jericho in his tag match w/Christian against Batista and Flair a few weeks ago. This was when Kane had destroyed Jericho's leg earlier in the show and Jericho could barely walk in the ring. During the match, Jericho was still doing flippity do offense and shit from the top rope and selling AFTER he completed his move. He'd limp around, execute a move requiring his legs like when he attempted a lionsault and landed on both feet after Flair moved. Then about 2 seconds later would start limping around. Now I know that Jericho doing that is better than a lot of guys sell jobs, but it's the fact that he's Chris Jericho that irked me. He's a smarter worker than that and the injured leg should effect his offense WHEN HE EXECUTES, not doing the move perfectly and then selling. Shit, Test can fucking do that. He's over, sure, but the way he is right now, he does not strike me as a World Champion. I guess he never did.
Guest BOOT Report post Posted February 22, 2004 Well, in the last few weeks it has been shown that working Bradshaw's arm is completely pointless, as he will still clothesline you, make an odd face but pick up a pin. He can even do his stupid raise arm thing on the ramp when he is all taped up. Surely, for a little bit of credibility he could use his other arm? Dopey fuck. Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2004 It's also Bradshaw we're talking about here. The only time he would actually grimace is if Triple H shoved the sledgehammer where the sun doesn't shine.

Serves him right getting up from one kick after HBK got up from a powerbomb through the announce table in seconds. Nash worked really hard in that match, which is astounding considering he was going to WCW pretty much straight after, so that was warranted. It was a Nash match afterall. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2004 Ok, these aren't WWE but bear with me... Rhyno no selling a guitar shot from New Jack and Goring him right through a table. Tanaka taking a german suplex right on his neck from Awesome at HH99, and getting right back up. And does anyone remember Sting going through a table on Nitro, and popping right back up afterwards. I think it was against Jarrett, not sure. Either way...that was gold.
Guest Astro Report post Posted February 22, 2004 Hoagn and Savage vs Sullivan and Flair (Texas Tornado Match) Nitro before uncensored 96 Hogan puts a foam cowboy hat over Flairs face and starts punching him, Flair can't see, so he no sells the punches and squirms at random I hope I have that on tape yet. jester 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2004 I think it was last year on a Smackdown. Undertaker was in a triple threat with Angle and Benoit. They got him in the crossface and the ankle lock simultaneously. He did look to be in *some* degree of pain (hardly enough IMO)...but didn't tap.
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2004 I read in the Wrestlecrap book that Vader actually BROKE A preliminary jobbers back with the powerbomb. Is this kayfabe or legit cause it sounds like it might've happend. It is true apparently, even to the extent that Joe Thurman (hey, I even remember the guys name!) was temporarily paralysed. Apparently Vader was inconsolable in the back, but WCW took the positive from it: it made the powerbomb seem like DEATH after that. Until Hogan...

Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted February 22, 2004 It's not a case of trying to have a bad match. People are trying to have a good match. RVD just sucks. Work his legs because it makes the most logical sense, and he'll no-sell it. Work the shoulder because you know he'll no-sell the leg, and he'll no-sell that, too.
