What old Hip Hop/Rap albums still get regular play in your CD player? I'm talking about albums at least 4 years or older that you still listen to something from at least once a month. Here is what I still rotate.

DMX "It's Dark and Hell is Hot"

2Pac "All Eyez on Me"

Dr Dre "The Chronic"

Nas "Illmatic"

Outkast "ATLiens"

What about you?

umm............well I never really owned any, but thanks to the wonderful world of mp3s I made a Death Row records comp and an Easy E/NWA/Ice Cube comp. I also have a Tupac/B.I.G. comp that I made. Am I going to jail?

I have an old Fat Boys cassette that I listen to way more than people would figure.

Most of my hip hop albums are from the late 80's/early 90's so quite a bit is in regular rotation. Illmatic, Doggystyle, 36 Chambers & several solo Wu-Tang albums, Public Enemy, NWA, all those and others are listened to pretty often.

Death Certificate Owns your stereo.

I'm always listening to old stuff- so I'll just say "all of them".

Awesome album.......They don't make em like they used to. Also, I was surprised me and you had some similar musical tastes......what's your favorite on my list?

I think Death Certificate is one of the top 5 albums ever, so probably that.

I think that 'Pac's pre-Death Row work owns his later stuff- and he'll never make any top 10 list of mine. (He's good- but not THAT good).

I actually like Operation Doomsday better than Black Bastards. "Rhymes Like Dimes" is the joint.

I think most of the rap that I listen to now is old rap. I've been listening to Ready to Die and Capital Punishment lately.

Dammit, what a lot of you guys consider old is making me feel old.

I was going to come in here and be naming the first Beastie Boys album or some old Run-DMC and peopel are name Life after to Death and shit.

I would have to agree Dids, as his pre Death Row stuff is too watered down. Me against the World is a great album in my opinion, but a lot of his other stuff falls short.

by the way.....

"Rhymes Like Dimes" = I can't believe I am talking to someone who knows what that is.......that is the shit........I like Operation Doomsday, but I've always liked Black Bastards better because "What a Nigga Know" was always my shit. You ever hear "Mr. Hood"? I rememer that shit from WAAAAAY back in the day.

I think I have/had the mp3s for Mr. Hood somewhere. I recall not likely it as much as I wanted too.

It's old school, but I like it. Too bad I only have it on cassette. I should really try and find it online somewhere.......

I guess I'm the only one who considers "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted" to be better than "Death Certificate" although both are excellent. I'm telling you I'll take Ice Cube, in his prime, over practically any other rapper. Rakim, KRS, Common and a few others were better lyrically but no one could bring the anger and emotion of Cube.

I still listen to a lot of old stuff, hell I listen to more old school than new stuff. Only new album I've bought this year is Kanye(although Em, Nas, Cube and Blackstar I'll buy).

BTW someone mentioned summer and, to this day, THE summer rap song is "Summertime" by Fresh Prince & DJ Jazzy Jeff. Will is so underrated :(.

Amerikkka's Most Wanted I would say is superior to Death Certificate, but as much for it's placement, timing, and even the fact that it was his solo debut. On straight content, I'd prefer to listen to DC, but yeah.

Very true. But everything he's done since becoming an actor has sucked.

Most of the hip-hop stuff I listen to is older stuff, it blows most of today's shit out of the water.

I still listen to my old Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, and 2pac albums faithfully.
