Okay, I got the Madvillain album the other day (and mighty fine it is too) when I heard the following lyric (from Great Day):

"Looky here, it's just the way the cookie tear

Prepare to get hurt and mangled like Kurt Angle rookie year"

This got me thinking about songs which have nothing to do with wrestling, but have wrestling lyrics in them. For example, from Outkasts Southernplayalisticaddilacmusic:

"Time to drop these bows, like Dusty Rhodes

Then I yell ho"

And from, ahem, Limp Bizkits 9 Teen 90 Nine:

"You wanna be down with the G shock!

Fuck the glam rock!

Assed out like Ken Shamrock"

So, does anyone else have any examples of random wrestling references in otherwise non-wrestling songs?

Wolfpac - Somethin' Wicked This Way Comes

Stole my brand new Pro Keds from a local k-mart

Coming' off the top ropes like Jim "The Anvil" Niedhart

Wolfpac - Evil Is As Evil Does

Like Jake the Snake Robbers I'll be dropping D.D.T's

I'm eating Mentos and your eating Sprees

Bloodhound Gang - No Rest For The Wicked

Body slam ya to the ground like I was Captain Lou Albano

Hit ya in the balls 'til you're singin' soprano

Bloodhound Gang - Right Turn Clyde

Givin' me that Macho Man Randy Savage stare

Wanna snap into a Slim Jim, break my limbs but do I care?

ICP - What is A Juggalo?

What is a juggalo?

A Hulkamaniac.

He powerbombs mother fuckas into thumbtacks. (Bwa!)

People like him till they find out he's unstable.

He Sabu'd ya mama through a coffee table. (Oh my god!)

ICP - Still Stabbin'

One time I was a wrestler, I wrestled the best

I got kicked out though, I had a knife in my spandex

I stabbed Tony Schiavone the commentator guy

Before the match I went to shake his hand, but I stabbed him in the eye

I stabbed Norman Smiley in the middle of a match

He was like "What are you doing?" I said fuckin relax

That's all I can remember for now.

There is an ECW reference in the Weezar song "El Scorcho" (which is about having a crush on a girl) off their best album Pinkerton.

I asked you to go to the Green Day concert

You said you never heard of them (how cool is that?)

How cool is that?

So I went to your room and read your diary:

"Watching Grunge leg-drop New-Jack through a press table..."

And then my heart stopped:

"Listening to Cio-Cio San fall in love all ovr again"

At the beginning of Skinless' "The Optimist," they have a sample of Vince McMahon saying "life sucks, and then you die." Quality.

I'm surprised Slayer hasn't done a song with ANY wrestling reference whatsoever in it, considering Kerry King is a huge fucking wrestling fan (even appeared at XPW's inaugural Baptized In Blood to announce the main event).

Fuck the World by ICP:

Fuck disco, Count of Monte Crisco (that's what they say...not Cristo, haha)

Fuck Cisco, and Jack and Jerry Brisco

later in the same song:

Fuck your idea, fuck your gonnoreha

Fuck your diarrhea, Rocky Maivia

Given ICP's love of wrestling, they have a lot of wrestling related lyrics in their songs.

Damn it, you're covering them all!

I wouldn't count it, but there's that small wrestling reference in Eminem's Without Me.

There's tons of wrestling references in hip-hop. One of the best examples of recent years is Ludacris' Word of Mouf Freestyle:

I got junkyard dawgs, I'm rowdier than Rod Piper

Instead of a gun, I'll pull out a stick from woodworkin

The black Hacksaw Jim Duggin stay lurkin'

I'm Soopafly like Snuka, I smack hoes

The black rose with the dozen attack flows

Some more:

ICP - Soopa Villiains

I'm a ninja, throw drop kicks, chop necks like Sabu

ICP - Birthday Bitches

I ain't no fuckin superhero

Ain't that big and scary though

I fly like little Rey Mysterio

I'm far too lazy to search out the actual lyrics, but I know the Wu-Tang Clan name dropped Bam Bam Bigelow & Big John Studd, and in my absolute favorite one, Gangsta Nip name dropped "Maniac" Mark Lewin, maybe my favorite old-school no-name wrestler.

Why would anyone listen to Gangsta Nip?

Really...why?

I'm not sure I'd call Lewin a no-name wrestler, as he drew a ton of money in his day (particularly in Buffalo and Detroit), but if I'd ever heard the song i probably would have marked out for it.

In Zappa's "Broken Hearts are for Assholes" they say something about a little spanish sailor getting into a no-holds-barred tag team grudge match involving Kona, 300 pounds of samoan dynamite.

First point: Sorry, Ripper, I'm a Geto Boys mark, and Nip appears on a few tracks of theirs. So when I saw the CD for like $2.25 in a used record store I figured it'd be worth the money.

Second point: JHawk, I agree that maybe 'no-name' was selling Lewin a bit short, but I think I'm among the older people on this board, and even I only remember him from WCCW and his time in Florida as one of Kevin Sullivan's disciples. So, it's not a major name like most of the other ones referenced in this thread.

Can't remember the name of the song or the full lyric, but Redman and Eminem did a song together where Redman mentions Tony Atlas.

Yep. It's the sone off the nutty professor 2 soundtrack and here's the line:

Redman: "Cause ya'll outta work like Tony Atlas"

Just heard this one took me by suprise: "I'm a million dollar thug like Ted DiBiase" Nick Cannon ft:B2K - Feeling Freaky

That's the one I was gonna post...

Nick fucking Cannon and B2K referencing DiBiase (btw, if you watch video with closed caption it says "Ted D.B.I.C" )

Method Man and Redman reference tons of wrestlers.

Off the top of my head they've referenced: Austin, Rock, Luger, Backlund, and Nikoli Volkoff.

Well, considering it's just a reference, and Milenko, according to the Dark Carnival story, is a Joker's Card that shows you visions of what could have been in order to lure you to your death...they can spell it wrong. But yes, I'd imagine it's a reference to Boris Malenko.

I'd say it's not. Considering the source I heard that tidbit came from also said it was their first album, it sounds like bullshit to me.

Rascalz did an entire song about Bret Hart "Sharpshooter"(I think).

I don't know much about the song itself, but I know for a fact he starred in the video.

"Gorilla Monsoon Rap" by Talib Kweli feat. Black Thought and Pharoahe Monch from Kweli's album Quality.

I can't recal spcifics right now, but I've heard Nas, Biggie, Eminem, Redman, Method Man, damn near every member of Wu-Tang, members of D12, Jay-Z, Icecube... just off the top.

I've heard almost as many wrestling references in hiphop as I've heard comic book ones.

Well, IDRM, it may be and it may not be. ICP are huge wrestling fans, and drop as many references to hardcore wrestling as they do old-school. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was a reference to Boris Malenko.

Speaking of ICP, one of the lines in the Dark Lotus song "I Don't Care" (which is featured in JCW vol. 2 during the music video, FYI) is:

I'm all inside like "fuck 'em all,

What's the main event on Raw?"

That was actually Jamie Madrox that rapped that line, I believe.
