Downhome 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2004 I have a few that I'm VERY proud to be able to say that I was at. Hogan vs. Goldberg - Yep, the match where Goldberg pinned Hogan clean, to win his first world title. I was sitting in the 7th row, could see everything perfectly, and it was just a perfect moment. In all of my life, I've never seen or experianced a time like that. The crowd chanted Goldberg before the doors opened, continued the entire show, and went all night as you could roll down your windows on highway 85 and STILL hear crazy people cheering for that night on their way home, as they drove away. When Goldberg won the title, people were just going crazy, high fives everywhere, strangers hugging, stuff being tossed about...just awesome. Ric Flair Returns to Greenville, SC - "Fire me! I'm already fired! Fire me! I'm already fired!". This is the only thing that could come close to the Goldberg title win experiance. I might as well say that I am just as proud of being at this event, as I am the other one. I've never seen a crowd beg for someone an entire evening like they did for Flair that night. Just like with the Goldberg thing, the crowd chanted for Flair outside of the building, and continue the entire show untill the man showed up. I loved them trying to act like they didn't know if Flair would be there or not...because we all just knew he was coming, it was too perfect for him not to. Having Mike Tenay at the Greenville, SC airport asking for Flair, searching for him, was a very nice touch. Hogan vs. Nash: Finger-Poke of Doom - This means little to most people, but to me I saw it as a bit more. Basicly, since I'm the biggest Hogan mark ever, I loved seeing him win a world title. When Nash fell, us in the crowd thought something was going wrong and were just silent, but when we figured out what was going on, there was a mixture of intense boos and cheers, since everyone was so confused. I hated what happened to Goldberg at that show, as I really felt that he would win the title again, but whatever. Billy Kidman Wins His First Cruiserweight Title - This happened the same night as the Flair return in Greenville, SC. Again, to many this means next to nothing, but at the time it was just great. Have it be a mixture of the crowd being on fire already because of Flair, or maybe people just really did love Kidman, but when he won the title the crowd went crazy. I believe this was one of, if not his first, shot after leaving The Flock, so everyone seemingly wanted to see him win. It was great seeing Saturn come out after the win to cheer Kidman on. Goldberg vs. Sting - Again, at the Greenville, SC show where Flair returned. I may be wrong, but I believe this was their first encounter. Many of us in the crowd thought that Sting just might win, and the crowd was just about split down the middle. It was an ok match, which I'll always remember. In the same bout I got to see Goldberg, Sting, Bret Hart, and Hulk Hogan, so that counts for something. Scott Hall "Vomits" on Eric Bishoff- Yep, once again, at the Greenville, SC show. Ok, ok, ok...this isn't historic, but it sure is some fine WrestleCrap. Wouldn't you agree? My nephew was at the show in NC where Hawk had his very last match which he won. I believe he defeated a guy by the name of Money Mike. My nephew saw him wrestle the match, and then just about two hours later he died. This has nothing to do with me, but I tell my cousin to always remember that night, as HE was truly seeing something to remember.
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2004 I've only been to one show, the Raw after SSlam '02 (at MSG). RVD and Dreamer had a decent Hardcore match to unify the IC and Hardcore titles, and that was when Lesnar jumped to SD.

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2004 well, living in Nebraska doesn't bring us much memories wrestling-wise...best experience was the IYH: Good Friends, Better Enemies PPV back in 96...horrible show overall, but the Nash/HBK streetfight kicked all types of ass...when Nash beat up MadDog Vachon and stole his fake leg, the heat for that was mega-intense...that was also back before table breaking became too cliched in the WWE so the spot where Nash powerbombed HBK through the table was pretty awesome to see up close... BorneAgain 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 In attendence at the the most recent world title change on Raw when Austin beat Angle. (10-9-01) Witnessed Goldberg's and Sid's last WCW matches at Sin. (1-14-01) Saw the late Terry Gordy's last match ever at a Main Event Championship Wrestling show. (7-10-01) If that wasn't morbid enough, Curt Hennig and Rocco Rock were at that same show. Was there when Gangrel turned on Edge and when the Rock originated the "It doesn't matter catchphrase" Yeah, I'm reaching here. (7-11-99) Rey Mysterio's WWE debut and the last Smackdown matches of Storm, Christian, Jericho, and Test (7-25-02) Well this is more comical that historical. I was in the crowd when JR was set on fire by Kane. (7-14-03) Oh and I did see Lance Storm defend all three of his WCW titles in one night. (8-1-00)
Guest commie_050 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 Wrestlemania X-7 in Houston is my proudest moment, although somewhat bittersweet, since everything went downhil from there. The major moments on that show are well known, so I won't cover them, just mention that the pop for Austin winning (after turning heel, mind you) was just ungodly. Other cool stuff I've seen: Heel Austin in all his glory the week after being pinned by RVD on Smackdown RVD vs. Angle in a hardcore match, with Austin shoving both off of the stage Scott Hall vs The Rock on Smackdown, memorable as part of Hall's short-lived run In the Wrestlecrap category, HHH cutting Steph's car in half, followed by some hideous wailing and shrieking HHH vs HBK for the title at the end of last year (which, admittedly, I enjoyed more watching on replay than live)
The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 (regarding Austin's run-in during Rock vs. Foley) TV doesn't even come close to doing it justice and watching you can the tell the crowd was going totally batshit! That's scary considering it's the loudest TV pop I've ever heard (although in person, Rock vs. Hogan was very, very loud).
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 Hmm very little, alright the first show I went to was a Superstars taping in 94. The taping featured the Owen Hart Vs Bret Hart lumberjack match on (correct me if I'm wrong) Wam! Bam! Bodyslam! That match might have been the best lumberjack match of all time (IE It didn't suck). The show also saw the debut of.... *pause for dramatic effect* Duke "The Dumpster" Droese who wrestled Bastion Booger (A ***** affair no doubt). And the main event was Lex Luger Vs The Fake Undertaker, I think this was during the feud between Lex Luger and Ted DiBiase's stable of really shitty wrestlers. Second show was a house show in July of 96, so pretty much nothing there. Except it did feature Sid before he made his television debut. Everyone was expecting The Ultimate Warrior Vs The British Bulldog, but no the Warrior was nowhere to be found (A shock if there ever was one) and Sid replaced him. I remember being confused since I watched little WCW as a little kid, I wondered what the hell Sid Justice was doing there and why the hell is he all of a sudden a good guy? The actual match was a really short squash, I think Sid just kicked Bulldog in the gut and then powerbombed him for the win (And somewhere Bob Barron cried). Then there was a WCW Saturday Night Taping, I still remember the date, May 19 1998. For a WCW Saturday Night taping it was pretty star studded. I remember one of Marty Jannetty's first (and only) WCW matches, the only reason I remember this is because it was the only time I've gotten a chanted started. The show also featured one of the best of seven matches between Booker T and Chris Benoit (I think it was match three or four). David Penzer promised a main event between a member of NWO Hollywood and NWO Wolfpac. It ended up being The Giant Vs Konan. The other two were WWF/WWE house shows in November of 01 and June of 02. Nothing happened really at either except at 02 show, I saw Rey Mysterio Jr before his TV debut.

Guest 1916 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 Keeping in mind I'm from Winnipeg, I haven't been able to see much historical stuff but I did see the July 5th Raw featuring the first ever game of Musical Chairs on WWE TV. I also attended IYH 4 in 1995 which featured the debut of Goldust, and Shawn Michaels surrenduring of the IC title after the Syracuse Incident.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 hmm.. Royal Rumble 99 [ugh.. Vince wins] The infamous Test/Steph wedding Rikishi admitting to running over Stone Cold The last SD with the original set [when Rhyno gored Jericho through it] hm.. can't seem to think of any others o0, but rest assured.. something big always goes down here in LA/Anaheim. hey I was at that show when rhyno gored jericho thru the old set too. also that night in la, DDP and Kanyon won the wwf tag titles from apa when Test interfered and joined the alliance, and taker and kane won the wcw tag titles from ohaire and palumbo - so I guess that's kind of historic, with both tag titles changing hands on the same night at the same show. also had austin pillmanizing angle and beating him up the ramp while saying the pledge of alliegance. and rock rockbottomed shane o mac thru the announce right in front of future gov ahnold I also went to unforgiven 02 and saw trish beat molly for womens belt, Ric Flair turn heel on rvd and hhh retains the belt (crowd didnt like that) an awesome angle/benoit match, rikishi in drag beating up eric bischoff, a great edge/eddy match (with the la crowd cheering the heel eddie and booing the heck out of the supposed face edge) and a near riot as taker/brock ( a very good match) ends in a dq. My first ever wwf show, was a house show at msg in late november/early december 91 with Ric Flair vs Hogan and the abomination that was the WWAS first live ppv in las vegas (but hey I had a great time at the meet and greet and we had great seats for the show) I think maybe 35 people bought tix (we were ssuckers and paid 50) and the rest were given free (you can tell by watching the show) and planted signs galore (they gave me a lame disco inferno one and I told them that I was insulted, so I wrote they gave me this sign on the back lmao) as well as bret hart fumbling thru a promo (first time Id sign him live since a 93 house show in white plains, ny) and trying to praise the canadian hockey team which beat the us that day for the gold then getting booed and coming up with a lame diatribe against terrorists and bin laden. Poor Bret but at least i got to see AJ styles and chris daniels in a match

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 janetty was in WCW? When? how? why? Yep, from about May to October 98 after getting fired from WWF. I think one Nitro, Tony Schivone said "This Week on Thunder, Marty Janetty debuts." Something to that effect. Janetty won a few squash matches against guys like Super Calo and Silver King (I think I saw him beat the legendary Kendall Windham at the TV taping. Eventually Janetty became a JTTS. I can't remember any storylines he was in and quite frankly I don't think he was in any. On that note at the same taping I saw Jim Neidhart and The British Bulldog team up against Disorderly Contact. Man WCW wasted those guys, even though all three were washed up, Bulldog and The Anvil could have been legit challengers for the WCW Tag title. And Jannetty was still decent enough, I'm sure he could have been a decent TV title holder.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 janetty was in WCW? When? how? why? I can't remember any storylines he was in and quite frankly I don't think he was in any. He seemed to be heading towards a feud with the flock but he just jobbed to Raven(I think that was his first loss) and Saturn a few times and then jobbed to Chris Jericho in a 1 minute match on Nitro which ended any chance of a push. Rock/Austin III - Rock finally beats Austin at WrestleMania Y2J/HBK - Damn this was a good match that seemed to go on forever for some reason. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2004 - Wrestlemania IX when Hulk Hogan won his 5th WWF title. - An incredible main event of Kurt Angle, The Undertaker & Kane Vs. Stone Cold, DDP, & Kanyon at a house show in my hometown two days before SummerSlam 2001. - Test debuting his fake foot injury into the Big Boot at a RAW house show last year and he still lost the match. Kevin Nash winning the World Heavyweight Title, but then the decision was reversed so he didn't get it. Me standing on a chair and flipping off HHH. Ric Flair then pointing me out to HHH with him giving me the "I'm going to kill you" look. Last year, I was at Summerslam in Phoenix. I got to witness Kurt Angle retain his title against Brock in an incredible match. - The awesome Flaming Dumpster ending to the RAW following SummerSlam last year. - The return of Mortis - Seeing Eddie Guerrero return home on two separate occasions - Seeing Shawn Michaels & Vince McMahon pouring out pints of blood right before my eyes, Batista running right by me, and the death of The Undertaker as a biker at SSeries last year. - An awesome Rico Vs. Steven Richards match and the debut of Goldberg Vs. Kane and it was for the title. - Ernest Miller playing a face - Hearing John Cena call Rene Dupree a French fa***t - Seeing the Undertaker live as the phenom with Paul Bearer next to him. - The debut of Benoit Vs. Detox 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2004 i was at the RAW on April 2,2001 the night after wrestlemania which featured The Rock vs Stone Cold in a cage, when Triple H interfered and aligned with Austin and McMahon. The crowd was nuts Triple H climbed the cage and spit beer out into the crowd and they all took turns putting the boots to The Rock. Also The Rock put Vince in a sharpshooter and that is the first time I remember seeing him use the move.
