GTA: San Andreas

Recommended Posts

It definitely seems like this one is flying in under the radar. I haven't even seen a single commercial yet, although that will probably change tonight during RAW and MNF and maybe during the World Series games as well.

I'm grabbing it tomorrow, late birthday present.

There have been a lot during SmackDown.

To say this game has been flying "under the radar" after the reports I'm hearing of massive line-ups at GameStops (with pizza and chips!) is a bit odd, too.

It does have a few AI glitches. About three times on one mission, CJ gets out of the car..and just won't move.

It's fun, but I wouldn't say "greatest game ever". It's just feels like they actually tried this time, instead of ripping off chunks of movies..like VC.

Pretty much.

He can jump, climb, and swim now. There's also different types of combat, from the various gyms.

There are all sorts of stats, and some of them are fairly annoying to raise (Lung Capacity, for one..)

The ability to choose outfits at will is nice, though.

I was at my local mall looking for a birthday present for my dad )got him a Ray Nitshcke bobble-head) and I walked over to Gamestop. There's a crowd at the place, and they have GTA San Andreas. I have to pound my way to a copy and got it at approximetely 6:00 PM. Came home, and I must admit: the greatest game that I've ever played. It is a perfect game that everybody should play. I'm only 21% in but I love it. Some flaws with glitches, but that gets overshadowed. I was able to develop my guy into a black Punisher (Tom Jane build.)

I'll give it a 10/10 for sheer greatness.

I have the game and it's great. I cant believe you are only a couple of hours in already and have 21 percent of the game completed.

I can't beat the first mission where you ride the bike.

I bike until I can't pedal my ass anymore and that is when he guns me down.

..still a fun game, though.

Probably the best part about the game's stat system is that it's all extremely subtle. It would be easy for something like exercise and eating to monopolize the game, but in practice you really don't have to think about it. All you really see is a quick pop-up in the upper left-hand corner of the screen whenever a stat changes, and if it's changed enough to make a big difference, the game offers a text description of what has changed and what that means for you.

I really like this. If you had to take a lot of time to micromanage your character, it might have turned off a lot of people, but Rockstar seems to have made it simple enough that you won't have to worry about things like that.

When I got out of class tonight there was a huddle of people outside GameStop. I bet they are staying open late or reopening later on to sell GTA: San Andreas. Good shit. I will be picking up my copy within the week probably.

I went to ebx and the line was for about 5 minute wait, I feel so sorry for all the people who waited hours for this game. This best part so far is when I got into a shootout with 3 of my guys shooting out of the car at the rival gang in their car. Plus when I went base jumping. I went to a little icon outside a building and in a second I was on top of the roof and I just ran and jumped off. So cool.

I reserved mine at KB, if only to get my employee discount of a whopping 10%. I stopped by last night, but it's not coming in until later today. Meanwhile, both EB & Babbages have massive lines waiting outside for the game. I'm in school right now, and I'm going straight to KB after. I can't wait.

Apparently I can rent the game and a PS2 for $20 for five nights. Not bad.

Here's the thing: The game wasn't fucking THERE. They said it'd be Wednesday or Thursday.

Fucking backwards Iowa.

Well... I got it at Game Crazy last night at 6:00 o'clock. There were two kids (about 8 & 10 years old!) with their mother wanting it too along with 25 other people... and I was the first to get it.

Well... I have gotten very far into it... but I must say.... I'm impressed. The graphics looks great, and the detail, as always from Rockstar, is awesome. The RPGish stats and stuff add to the game pretty well. The only probably right now I have is.. EVERY GANG HATES ME! They pull me out of the taxi's every time I try taxi missions. Oh well... I'll keep trying.

So far... my favorite weapon is to spray a spray can in their face. Don't know why...

Now... about the voice acting... so far... sensational. Great job all around, especially with Samuel L. Jackson as a corrupt cop. But the one thing you notice about this game... unlike the others... they don't hold back on their choice of words. I have never heard "fuck" and n-word so many times in my life... maybe Boyz in the Hood and Baby Boy... but good Lord, it's a feast of non-stop potty mouth... and I love it. It adds a little extra realism to the whole situation.

And did I mention this whole game is FREAKIN HUGE? Take Vice City... now multiply it by four or five.... there you go. Now that's big.

Simon says... he likes it. He's off to go play it some more when he gets done filming his movie for a college class.

BUY THIS GAME... and if your mom hears some stuff she doesn't wanna hear... blame society... in 1992. And if that mother hasn't taken that game back... there is something wrong with society...

I am in the Uk so I still have to wait till Friday for this game (slight chance I could get it before then but I am not counting on it), I have been excited about this game since it was announced but I have always had slight doubt in my mind regarding how such a game could be done on the PS2, but after reading all the good feedback on the net I am more excited then ever. I have never been this excited over a game before.

I played for a few hours today, and I'm loving it so far. That first bike mission was hard on the first try. I'm trying to pedal up the hill, but the gang just keeps capping me, so I ditch the bike and hide between houses. Of course, they find me and kill me. I easily beat it the second time around.

It's so easy to get lost in the city. I dove off of a cliff into water and ended up swimming onto a beach and then into the boardwalk.

Anyone know if the other cities are locked at the start, like the other games?
