Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted October 19, 2004 Rocko's Modern Life is a favorite of mine. Ren and Stimpy get all the love but Rocko took the formula and made it about a million times better. Good thing I get Nick Toons on satallite and can watch it from 3-4 everyday. EDIT: I also loved Gary the Rat and "This Just In" while they were on Spike tv. I thought both were hilarious but they got cancelled to show more episodes of the god awful Stripperella. The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2004 Ok, for one, I had almost forgotten about Earthworm Jim and how much ass that show kicked. Also, Freakazoid kicked all the ass as well. "Freakazoid! You wouldn't kill your father, would you?" "You're my father?" "Uhhhhh......yes!" Undergrads was good the first 30 times I watched it, but I can't watch the show anymore - I know every episode line-for-line, pretty much. Clone High was a much better show, especially the Rock Opera. I used to watch Rocco's Modern Life, but I can't really remember anything about it.

Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2004 God, the Devil, and Bob. A comedy about religion, and the Devil voiced by Alan Cumming. What could be better?
razazteca 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2004 CBS never had any luck with prime time animated sitcoms.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2004 I enjoyed Animaniacs for a short while. Mask was pretty outrageous too. Rocky & Bullwinkle I liked as a child, and while it may not be officially considered "obscure" I would say that in MY YOUTH it was obscure, cause I couldn't name more then one other person I knew that watched it. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted October 19, 2004 CBS had some god awful attempts at animated shows. Anyone remember the shitfest that the Fish Police was?
AlwaysPissedOff 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2004 I am very dissapointed that nobody else has mentioned Futurama or Family Guy. That's because this thread is for cartoons that people think are good that *don't* get the hype unlike FG, the Simpsons, and so on.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2004 I thought Rocco was a wallabee. "What are you, some kind of bear?" That show ruled. The Star Wars parody and the episode where they're cartoonists are tremendous. My father, brother, and I golf, and I'll occasionally break out "wait, wait...IT'S IN THE HOLE!" during a round. AlwaysPissedOff 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2004 My favorite Rocco episode had to be the one where the entire city kept breaking out in those cheesy ass songs and Rocco just stood there with a dumbfounded look on his face and everytime he asked how they did it, Heffer would say, "What? Didn't you hear about the rehearsal?".
Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2004 My favorite Rocco episode had to be the one where the entire city kept breaking out in those cheesy ass songs and Rocco just stood there with a dumbfounded look on his face and everytime he asked how they did it, Heffer would say, "What? Didn't you hear about the rehearsal?". My Favorite Episode: "Wacky Delly" virtually defines everything that's great about the show. Insane one liners, curiously adult jokes, and general absurdity and insanity that almost makes "Invader ZIM" look normal.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2004 Pirates of Dark Water owns you all. Wow... Someone else liked the concept of that show, like me. It was a pretty good show for awhile, till it started doing the wash, rinse, repeat on getting sword shards and ... whatever else the main character was chasing. Dammit, I can't remember anything about this show. I must Google it later on.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2004 I remember watching the Super Dave animated series on FOX. Can't classify that as a favourite though. It's my understanding that Pizza Cats was actually (somewhat) serious in it's original form and Saban just made their own show up by adding a narrator and other silliness like referencing the fact it's a TV show, etc. Normally this is a receipe for disaster but somehow they pulled mangling the dubbing of an anime into a work of pure genius. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2004 The Final Superfriends Series for me didn't get much respect. Maybe because it had the bad stigma of the first seasons...but the last Superfriends season...where they got rid of the narrator and changed the hall of Justice...and even had Cyborg as a regular...was pretty good. As close back then as you could get to the modern form of the cartoons (Batman TAS, Superman TAS, et all)
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2004 To any anime fans, I recommend "Flame of Recca". It's awesome! So freaking cool! Come on people, it so needs love. GIVE THIS SERIES LOVE DAMMIT~!

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 "Although dubbed into English in 1991, it [sPC] didn't play on American TV until 1996; by which time many of the jokes had gone out-of-date. At least six episodes were never shown on American TV either" Jeez, in Canada, I watched it everyday either at noon during lunch or at 3:30 or 4pm afterschool in the early 90s, depending which time YTV had it airing. Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted October 23, 2004 hands down Like I've mentioned before and will again in the future the emmy award winning Samurai Jack rules all! 500,000,000 with an exponent of infinity + 1 times better than Kill Bill. ANd had nobody seen the Jungle Book show that used to be on TV about 13 or 14 years ago? It seemed to be different than other shows at the time and was a continuing series with a big showdown that was teased forever between Mogli and a tiger if I remember right. I remember this show being legit good and not feeling at all like Disney so I imagine some other company did it. Somebody help me out here.
