Chaos strikes backstage RAW

In addition to Vince McMahon not being in attendance and the first RAW without Pat Patterson, executive producer Kevin Dunn was also on vacation and didn't attend RAW last night.

Some are saying a lot of groups of different people were trying to sabatoge others and make them seem incapable in the absence of Vince.

Wrestlers were said to be growing very impatient last night as the script was actually being rewritten as the show was in progress live. They didn't get their promo points until much later than usual as well, leaving them very little time to come up with a decent promo.

We're still getting more and more stories from the chaotic scene backstage at RAW last night, and as always we'll keep you covered throughout the day with updates. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

Ha! I was actually right in the RAW thread!

When they showed so much of the Eugene/Bischoff match, the first thing that occurred to me was "I wonder if they're still writing tonight's show and are playing for time."

That feeling was reenforced during the HBK never ending supreme bullshit promo. It was like somebody was giving him the signal to stretch it out.

Is it safe to assume that when Vince passes on/retires that the WWE is doomed?

I think so, but I'm sure there are plenty of fools who still believe that when he does leave and the keys to the empire are given to HHH that Hunter will "do what's right for the business", even though he hasn't done so yet.

RAW did have a different feeling tonight, and it all started with that review of the Bisch/Eugene match. Hell, it was even resident when in storylines, Bischoff just gave himself the night off, drinking my favorite vodka, Grey Goose, and didn't give a shit as to what the show was gonna be. But, someone must have done something right, because I bet the HHH haters out there did a collective HURRAH, as the entire BABYFACE RAW wrestlers helped HHH look like shit tonight.

How fucking sad is this? This team has basically a week to write a two hour show and they had to eat up time with recaps just to have it done?

Everyone on the writing staff should be fired today for this.

I guess this really does go to prove that Vince runs the whole thing.

It would seem as though the "let the inmates run the asylum" comment Eric Bischoff made on RAW was likely related to Vince McMahon not being in attendance for RAW, which is very rare, leaving his "yes-men" and family in charge without the 20+ year veteran Pat Patterson or production wiz Kevin Dunn to assist.

As you can tell after last night, it's time to give up on seeing Ric Flair make the babyface turn. It would seem as though the handshake and respect shown at Taboo Tuesday between Randy Orton and Flair never actually happened. Go figure.

I thought the show did feel weird while I watching it also. It seemed something like WWE would do awhile back. Have a lot of recaps, promos, backstage stuff, but not a whole lot of wrestling. That and basically there matches were basically rematches from Taboo Tuesday, thought that was a bit odd as well.

With this writing staff, I doubt they even remembered it.

Face it, these people couldn't write sitcoms and soap operas. And soap operas are filled with so much bs that the only thing you need to be able to do is spell. Last night felt really quick but god, I'm starting to get a very WCW vibe now. Which I really haven't felt since WCW.

Vince McMahon missed Raw due to having some surgery last week and he wasn't ready to travel yet. He is doing well, and he was in constant communication with Stephanie and others in the hours leading up to Raw.

Looks like Vince did have some hand in Raw, at least.

He finally had his head removed from his ass?

I wouldn't put it pass the "insiders" to give the net bs. Vince is not there and the animals tear up the zoo sounds a bit too convenient with what was shown on television. Of course, they have been heading towards wcw zone, so I wouldn't put the "news" passing false info either. I will admit the show did feel different. The reason I question everything is that Patterson retires last week and the info he gave Vince Mcmahon supposedly was HHH being over-pushed and not putting anyone else over. Bam! Patterson and Vince are gone and HHH puts over the babyfaces to end the show? Something aint right. I don't know how to filter this "locker room" gossip. Stephanie has been running creative and she still can't run the damn show when Vince isn't able to? Pfft! Vince probably CAN'T die.

If anything, it's reflective of WCW in that no one knew exactly who was in charge, and that's never been a problem typically in WWE.

It's strange, but I was really tired of hearing the names "Benoit", "Jericho" and "Maven" by the end of the night.

Hunter took a few bumps, which is great, but he didn't put anyone over. Putting someone over means making them look like a threat and making them seem more important. I fail to see how any babyface got put over, when it took about 15 of them to put Hunter down. If it was one babyface, then yes, someone would have been put over. But doing it for a big bunch of guys does nothing but get a pop that won't matter next week.

I thought it was a comedic show last nite. I kept making fun of everything from beginning to end. The ending of the show was pretty good too. I'm curious to see the ratings

This is SAD....

When Vince isn't there ..Stephanie McMahon(creative director) MUST be able to have control over the show.....she has been the creative director for 4 years...and she hasn't learned anything yet.....

This latest news just proves that Stephanie isn't fit for the role as creative director...
