Special K 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 Inspired by the topic of a similar name in the books/comics folder. I shall start Disgusting: Braindead/dead-alive: By the director of LoTR, a very funny and extraordinarily gory movie. Must be seen in the unrated version. Also a romantic comedy that is sweeter than most of the pap Hollywood dumps on us. Would probably acutally make a good date movie if you know your date is a sick fucker (like, presumably, you.) Riki-Oh! Chop-socky movie that is chock full of gore. Quite funny as well. it's essentially a live-action Fist of the North Star. The Gates of Hell: Good Fulci horror movie. Quite gross. Features one of the goriest scenes I have ever seen. Won't spoil it for you here. Disturbing: Ichii the Killer: This director's knownfor making avante-garde crazy ass movies, in which his aim is to essentially break every taboo known to man. And, probably, animals. Fucked up movie in which two sadomasochistic killers are the 'heroes' the gore would be amusingly over-the-top if the themes weren't so goddamn disturbing. I don't know what the hell the point of the movie is, but it DOES stay with you. I'll give it that. Suicide club/circle: (First of all Suicide Circle is such a better name.) The first scene features happy, chirpy music while dozens of high-school Japanese girls silently hold hands, happily count down and jump in front of a trainl. The resulting gore is horrific. This movie has several powerful scenes that I think were actually cheapened by the insane gore. Gets completely derailed when it features a Frank N. Furter-ish character that likes to sing hair-metal love ballads while his followers rape and murder young girls. oh boy! Honorable mentions: Jacob's Ladder, Fantastic Planet. Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted November 30, 2004 The Last House On The Left was pretty disturbing, not because it was a "scary" movie, but because unlike most horror films, the killers are the type of people you probably would see every day and wouldn't even think of being that vicious. When my friend first put this movie on, we all thought we were gonna laugh at it because we thought it was gonna be one of those movies with horrible death scenes, we were so wrong. When the girls jumped off, we were just silent and were just in "what the hell" mode for the rest of the movie. I left my friends house when they go to the frank N. Furter-ish guy came on and he was stomping on the white cloths...that move is pretty fucked up.

Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 Can I second "Salo"? Passolini's master work, the most disturbing film I've ever seen, bar none. Mangia la merda.
1234-5678 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 The climax of "Bully" is up there I think. Also, the scene in "Jackass" when the guy eats the urine snowcone. I almost retched in the theater.

Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted November 30, 2004 The climax of "Bully" is up there I think. That's an awesome scene. I recommend the book as well. Read that part of the book THEN watch the movie.....it gives one hell of a perspective.
notJames 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 I Spit on your grave is pretty damn disturbing due to the realistic nature of the rape/murder scenes. I concur. Just an awful display. I think the lack of background music made it a bit too real for my liking. Similar to this is the rape scene in Man Bites Dog. I saw it with a bunch of friends and the room just died when that scene hit.
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 I know it had some over-the top death scenes, but one part of the freeway pile-up at the beginning of Final Destination 2 really bothered me. I've beeen burned pretty badly before, so seeing the guy being burned alive trapped in his car, and seeing his skin charred and peeling off really disturbed me. Special K 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2004 Um, I have a limited knowledge of foreign languages, but I know my Romano/Grecian roots. Did you, Nevermortal just say 'Eat the Shit?' Because that kinda studd will put me off of any tactile experience for a week. if he's quoting 'salo', that's probably what he said. there's a lot of forcing young people to eat human feces in that movie. Anorak 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2004 'The New York Ripper' - A lot of older slasher films flirt with misogyny but films like this just take it to the extreme. I've got a soft spot for exploitation films but there's moments in this film that positively revel in sexual violence far too enthusiatically for any viewer who isn't a potential 'ripper' themselves. I found the rape scene in 'Man Bites Dog' too much as well, I don't think i'd be able to watch Irreversible from what i've heard.
Guest M. Harry Smilac Report post Posted December 1, 2004 Irreversible...never ever let a woman watch this movie but it's such an emotional and disturbing film that I recommend everybody see it. There are two scenes that will change your definition of disturbing events on screen. I Stand Alone the director's first movie is just as disturbing featuring such things as the main character beating the shit out of his pregnant wife's stomach and some good old incest. The rape scene in the middle of Irreversible is one of the most painful and uncomfortable things to sit through. The only time I came as close to feeling that uncomfortable watching a movie was for the first 15 minutes of VisitorQ(Ichi the Killer director) when the father in the story is in the process of having sex with his daughter. I thought Suicide Circle was so ridiculous it pretty much played as a comedy. Dead or Alive and Fudoh, two prior movies from Miike the director of Ichi feature some pretty disturbing things which include a women being drown in a pool of her own shit and piss and a schoolgirl who shoots little darts from her snatch. The compilation Three...Extreme's in my sig also has some disturbing things going on."Cut" the last short from the director of Oldboy will stay with you mentally for days. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2004 Man Behind the Sun, for both disgusting and disturbing, because it was pretty much a true story. You guys that are touting Salo, be aware, there are further depths of depravity to be sunk. That is the true title by the way, but if you go looking for it, you should know it's often called Men Behind the Sun.
Guest CronoT Report post Posted December 2, 2004 Passion Of The Christ. I mean, really. Ew. Yeah, it's one thing to read it in the Bible. But it's something different all together to see it acted out in real life. By the way, the actor who played Jesus, Jim Cavaziel, was wearing a brace so the whip wouldn't actually hit him. It slipped twice, so he now has two long scars down his back where the scourging whip actually hit him.
godthedog 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2004 You guys that are touting Salo, be aware, there are further depths of depravity to be sunk. 'salo' was kind of a joke to me. it was just trying way too hard, & was impossible for me to take it seriously. it's the led zeppelin of disturbing movies.
