1234-5678 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Out of those similar tasting sodas, which one is the best? Pick other if you prefer some generic supermarket brand, or one I didn't list.
Golgo 13 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 I've always liked 7Up, yet haven't had it in a while, and I liked Sierra Mist more when it had caffeine and was called Storm. Sprite is the better of the three, yet it inexplicably has the one of the worst ad campaigns of any soda brand in years. That talking doll can fuck right off.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Crap. I don't know. I'll go with 7up...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Almost my favorite pop ever is this stuff that's only in Kentucky as far as I know. It's called Ale81, and is caffeinated ginger ale, only the shit's strong.
1234-5678 Posted December 6, 2004 Author Report Posted December 6, 2004 I've always liked 7Up, yet haven't had it in a while, and I liked Sierra Mist more when it had caffeine and was called Storm. Damn...........I fuckin miss Storm, I forgot all about it.
Murmuring Beast Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Irn Bru beats everything else on the planet.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Sprite has always been my favorite lemon lime soda.
geniusMoment Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 My vote went to sprite, but if cherry 7Up was listed I would have voted differently.
The Czech Republic Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Oh, cherry 7-Up, a special love for thee.
Si82 Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 I went for 7Up, I prefere it to Sprite but I usually end up drinking Sprite.
Special K Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Out of the lemon-lime sodas, I prefer Sprite. However, i never drink lemon-lime.
Guest Smues Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Sierra mist, if it's out of a fountain machine. Sierra mist in a can/bottle for some reason to me isn't that great, but from a fountain soda machine is amazingly great.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Sierra Mist; furthermore, I don't find 7up, Sprite or Sierra Mist to be similar tasting at all.  But, I'm weird when it comes to soda: I could identify a lemon-lime soda in a blind taste test, but I honestly can't tell the difference between Pepsi and Coke.
DerangedHermit Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Sierra Mist is the best there. Although if Cherry 7up was included, it would own all of j00. Â On a semi-related note, I tried Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper today (it was the 1st I've seen in the area). It's my favorite mainstream diet soda (followed by regular Diet Dr Pepper, Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke). Although Dr Pepper kinda sucks because Dr Pepper is distributed by Coke in the NYC/LI area and they're the first Coke distributor in the US to have the 1.5 liter bottles - for a MSRP of $1.19, and it's severly reduced the number of 2 liter bottles of their brands. So unless it's a good deal (.79 or less) I'd get Pepsi products.
Bruiser Chong Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 I used to think Sierre Mist was awful, but I actually prefer it now over the others. Lemon-lime pop is pretty dull, whichever way you go, though. But then again, I'm not a huge pop person.
Ace309 Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 I'm gonna play the spoiler and go with bitter lemon soda.
Special K Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 What is that? It sounds pretty good. Â Seeing as I am a fan of sour foods, lemon-lime soda in general dissapoints. Give me a good ol' Diet Squirt. That stuff'll exfoliate the inside of your mouth.
Tawren Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Make 7UP Yours. Â 7UP > Sprite, although I like both.
the max Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Sierra Mist. Â Sprite is OK, but 7up is nasty. Yes, they all taste differently.
Ace309 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 What is that? It sounds pretty good. It's usually found with drink mixers like tonic water and club soda. I think my current bottle is Canada Dry.
MrRant Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 What is that? It sounds pretty good. It's usually found with drink mixers like tonic water and club soda. I think my current bottle is Canada Dry. Are you sure you aren't drinking Ginger Ale?
The Czech Republic Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 There was a period of my life where I was drinking tonic water straight. What was wrong with me??
Guest BDC Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Almost my favorite pop ever is this stuff that's only in Kentucky as far as I know. It's called Ale81, and is caffeinated ginger ale, only the shit's strong. Yep, that's our drink. Buddy of mine is best friends with one of the VP's. You wanna buy a case?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 No bullshit? Can you cut me a deal?
KingPK Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Sprite and (to a lesser extent) 7-Up have too much of an acid taste. Sierra Mist goes down smoother and it's more refreshing.
Alro Posted December 19, 2004 Report Posted December 19, 2004 Almost my favorite pop ever is this stuff that's only in Kentucky as far as I know. It's called Ale81, and is caffeinated ginger ale, only the shit's strong. I went to school in Central Kentucky until 2003 and never had an Ale-8. I finally had one this October. It wasn't bad. Oh, and I voted for Sprite.
