Triple H was one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions in WWE history. Now you can own a WWE Intercontinental Championship belt signed by The Game himself.

...I can't even be shocked anymore. They can't possibly believe that.

All I can say is that it's about damn time! I was a big fan of the old page, even with all the errors.

Did he even have the belt that long? Out of all his reigns, the only one I remember lasting longer than a month was his awful '96-97 reign.

I hope they are more accurate with this than they are elsewhere on the site, like where they claim that the Final Four match for the title was between Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Vader, and Syco Sid.

WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson defeated Ted DiBiase for the newly-created WWE North American Championship. Patterson then went to Rio De Janeiro in September 1979, where he defended the title in a tournament. He then unified his title with the South American Championship, thus becoming the first-ever Intercontinental Champion.

KAYFABE'S NOT DEAD!

At least they're finally admitting to the North American title though.

I'm a little disturbed by the fact that CHYNA is on that collage of champions picture. No offense to Chyna, but her reigns really hurt the Intercontinental title.

Well, it kinda works, since she kinda made history with the belt being the first female to win it. Plus, at least she was an actually wrestler.

At least it's not like the Hardcore Title history, where TERRI F'N RUNNELS won the belt.

As well as a Ho of The Godfather.

Oh.  Sorry, I thought they brought all of the histories back.  I cannot access WWE.com at work.  Thanks for the info!

Ah, OK.

Yeah, all they have at the moment is the Intercontinental Title.

They're doing a gradual roll out of histories. Next is the Smackdown tag titles.

Hooray! I've been waiting for this! Granted, othersites have histories, but at least this one might be a bit easier. But then again, may be not. May be some politics will surround it. (But I sure hope not.)

They should be able to knock that one out in about an afternoon.

Of course, that'll just remind us how far those belts have fallen since Benoit/Angle, Los Guerreros, or even Team Angle/WGTT held them.

Oh man, the other title lineage site was so full of errors.

I think the first one I found on that old site was them forgetting the New Age Outlaws' first Tag Title reign, thus meaning Cactus Jack & Chainsaw Charlie would have to have beaten the Legion of Doom.

I betcha any money WWE will use the history of the WWF tag team championship for the WWE tag team championship. Wanna know why? Because, anytime during interviews, wrestlers are always refered to former WWE Tag Team Champions, not World Tag Team Champions; the belts that are on raw. Also, during the draft lotto, HHH among other wrestlers were reffered to as former WWE tag champs, not World tag champs. Man, WWE should've put their respective names in front of their belts, and completly started over with the histories. It should look this:

SmackDown! Belts:

WWE SmackDown! World Heavyweight Championship

WWE United States Championship

WWE SmackDown! World Tag Team Championship

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Raw Belts:

WWE Raw World Heavyweight Championship

WWE Intercontinental Championship

WWE Raw World Tag Team Championship

WWE Women's Championship

As it stands right now, the Raw World Heavyweight and World Tag belts seem like unofficial belts because WWE doesnt put WWE in front of them when reffering to those belts. Here's how WWE sees the histories of each belt, i know its not right, but this is how WWE views them:

SmackDown! Belts:

WWE Championship(WWF title history)

WWE United States Championship(WCW US title history)

WWE Tag Team Championship(WWF Tag Team title history)

WWE Cruiserweight Championship(WCW CW title history)

Raw Belts:

World Heavyweight Championship(WCW title history)

WWE Intercontinental Championship(WWF IC title history)

World Tag Team Championship(WCW Tag Team title history)

WWE Women's Championship(WWF Women's title history)

So, this is how I think WWE views it, two belts from WCW on each brand, and 2 belts from WWF on each brand, that way it's even. I'm sure it'll look like this when they finish their title history section on WWE.com.

That theory is convoluted...even by WWE Standards.

Yes, I can see the World Heavyweight Championship being WCW history...

However, the WOrld Tag Team Championship NEVER STOPPED having a lineage, continuing from when it was WWE Tag Team Titles to how it is now.

Plus, there was that tournament...ON WWE TV...that had the Smackdown version of the WWE Tag Team Titles being created.

....see it's reasons like this I wish the Brand Extension/Roster Split would end.

Dude, i realise there was a tournament for the WWE tag belts(smackdown), but WWE always refers to past tag champs as former WWE tag champs, not World Tag Champs. Also, since the World Heavyweight title is based on the history of the WCW title, then the World Tag team titles are based on them too, because they are not called WWE tag titles. World is just another name for WCW in WWE's eyes.

That's because the tag titles were ALWAYS the WWF Tag team titles.

Besides, the only reason they use World is because it makes it easier to tell the difference. All their belts that aren't belts for a certain area (like the IC or US) are World titles by default, but it's just redundant to say WWE World Heavyweight champion.

I mean, World Wrestling Entertainment World Champ? Just sounds silly.

Mind you, having the word Entertainment in there makes it sound silly anyway, but I think you see my point.
