PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 'First of the Gang To Die' is utterly awesome, really. I accept he'll always be a love or hate artist, but that's a great pop song and one of the defining moments of his solo catalogue. Unashamedly, I much enjoyed 'Some Girls' by Rachel Stevens. And fuck it, I loved 'Laura' and 'Take your Mama' too.
Murmuring Beast 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 Our British users will no doubt tsk at this, but I thought McFly, for a boyband, made a decent effort this year ...
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 You're right. Whilst McFly are your standard teen morons, their popularity means that boybands at least have to write songs and play instruments now to be successful.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 You know it was a weak year in radio-play hip-hop when "Lean Back" is the best case you can make for a summer jam. Woof. Meh, I liked the remix better anyway. Also, "Roses" wasn't exactly a good single. It was probably the worst one Outkast had ever offered up, No, that would be Ms. Jackson. Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 I saw Busted live the other week (free tickets) and they honestly rocked more than any other band Ive seen this year. But on singles - The Sound of Settling - Death Cab for Cutie. Best use of "Ba-ba" ever. And Call On Me is easily the best pop single of the year.

PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 Still nothing for Gwen Stefani....disgusting. I really really like the opening vocal line of the verse and the rest of the song is ok. She's always been best at techno. Preferred No Doubt's pop stuff to the ska stuff. Whilst on the subject, was 'It's My Life' released this year? I know it's a cover, but that's another fave of mine. And I kinda liked 'Walk Idiot Walk' just cos it reminds me of the metropolis zone theme from sonic the hedgehog 2.

It was. Good song. And her second single of that album is weird, and is basically built around "If I Were A Rich Man" from Fiddler on the Roof. I kinda like it. Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2004 HungryJack where in Canada? Hip hop is played constantly in the GTA. Lately, I haven't been able to get HEAAADSPRUNG out of my head. I will probably be sick of it by next week, but for now, it's all good. Jesus Walks by Kanye is probably it for me though, when all is said and done.
