NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 What did Kane just do? I was late coming back into the room and just managed to see Kane backpeddling up the ramp as Raw faded to commercial break......

iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 It shows you how screwed up this company's priorities are when they go from a great match with Benoit/Jericho (clean finish and a handshake at the end) to a video package about Lita/Snitsky/Kane. God. HBK/Christian was good stuff (the reversed roles were cool...thought Edge should of just done the Sharpshooter instead of his version of it because once he did, you could tell the crowd didn't show much intrest. REALLY surprised they are going with Edge and Shawn Michaels before Wrestlemania. Can't complain, but surprised. The Rumble looks like it's going to be really good (a WWE PPV good? This hasn't happened for like...ever.) Thought Trish was hilarious and was rather surprised that they went with the women violence in Canada, when of course they do that everytime because of TSN. At the beginning of Kane/Snitsky, I was hoping they would treat that match like JBL/Taker at Summerslam (with the wave and all that stuff)...and thankfully Toronto did. God bless them for doing so. "GO LEAFS GO"? THANK GOD FOR THE MOTHER CANUCKERS! It would of been even more hilarious if the entire building just emptied out after the Benoit/Jericho match. And the big bump at the end? It looked like Snitsky was laughing instead of selling it. Jesh. What crap. I actually enjoyed Raw for the first time in months...from the start of it up until the Benoit/Jericho match was over. BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 I'm almost positive Snitsky asked Kane was he "alright?" after the table bump. The camera just got on them, as Snitsky murmured it.

Papacita 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 Lawler during Kane/Snitsky: "This crowd is in awe. They don't know what to think." *camera shot of the fans doing the wave* That cracked me up. Pretty good show overall.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 I fail to see how the Rumble will be great... HHH/Orton conclusion is fargone... Smackdown! Three-Way looks like the shits. Casket Match? Lame. It isn't 1998...or even 1993 for that matter... Michaels looked *really* slow tonight, but that may have been him in there with Cpt. Resthold. I hope he's okay from the injury. You never know. Rumble match always delivers.
JN News 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 Oh geez, couldn't they let someone win the rubber match between Gene Snitski and Kane? I mean, this was the rubber match. Both men were tied by one fall a piece. (1-1) Gene Snitski won at Taboo Tuesday. Kane won at NYR. This match could've ended the whole feud, altogether with either Kane or Snitski emerging as the better man. Does this mean we're getting Kane/Snitski III at RR? Or is it IV? ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 Does this mean we're getting Kane/Snitski III at RR? Or is it IV? 5 actually. 1) The one where Lita's baby got crushed. 2) Taboo Tuesday 3) New Year's Revolution 4) The match tonight.

An Edge/Benoit correct blowoff would be just fine for WM, by the way.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 Michaels looked real rusty, yeah. He looked stiff as hell coming to the ring and warming up before the match. Hopefully he can shake it off in the next couple of weeks. What an AWFUL way to end what had been a fairly entertaining show (in large part due to the Toronto audience). Who's brilliant idea was it to put Kane/Snitsky on AFTER Benoit/Jericho when Benoit/Jericho was built up as the main event the whole week and during the show? And Snitsky is SO fucking brutal, talking to Kane in full view of the camera and then LEGIT SMILING and LOOKING AROUND when he's supposed to have been sent STRAIGHT TO HELL. How can we take JR's hyperbole seriously when Snitsky BLANTANTLY breaks kayfabe and makes the whole thing look like a joke? Jericho/Benoit was good, tight work w/ a pleasantly surprising finish, but man, it would have been so much more memorable given more time and not being the lead in to the WORST program on RAW in recent memory (and that's saying something). KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 No love for Trish taking a full on chokeslam, even with her supposed neck troubles? This USA-hole says bravo to that. And wouldn't it have been smart for Hassan to....you know...NOT piss off the Canadian crowd as well, and try for a Bret Hart dynamic (hated in the US for his beliefs, loved in Canada for his beliefs)? Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 18, 2005 I'm really getting a Edge nearly kills shawn in the match; Shawn pulls a bret and wins the rumble and heads to SD for Angle. I did my FB of it in the rumble thread but it's not just a fantasy booking thing now...it's a gut feeling now.

I mentioned in the other board's Raw thread that Trish is taking bumps better than a lot of the male roster. I mean, this chokeslam...the REAL Liontamer way back when...I'm sure she took a Dudley's table spot too at one point...

CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 What does Trish weigh? 140? That was probably the easiest chokeslam of Kane's life. Not even. She's short, so I'd say 130. Colour me disappointed that it's Edge/HBK at Royal Rumble. I know everybody wants this HBK/Angle match, but I can't say the idea excites me. Oh well, hopefully Edge still gets a good program. Dandy 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 I don't think Snitsky was smiling, I think that was a grimace. Remember how Foley said he wasn't smiling in that HITC match, and that he was trying to stick his tongue through his torn lip? I did hear Snitsky say, "What about you......you good?" Fökai 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 And wouldn't it have been smart for Hassan to....you know...NOT piss off the Canadian crowd as well, and try for a Bret Hart dynamic (hated in the US for his beliefs, loved in Canada for his beliefs)? Putting him into an interview segment with Jericho doesn't allow the Hassan character much freedom to distinguish his tweener side. People were just waiting for Jericho to throw his little catchphrases in.
