Major News regarding Steve Austin

Recommended Posts

Well, we all just saw that they are promoting a Press Conference in Hollywood on Raw...for obvious reasons, and that's more than likely Austin is back in the WWE. I think it would be a perfect time to do an attack on him to set up a program for Mania (if he's going to wrestle.)

Discuss away.

Austin: ...and that's why I'm coming back to whoop ass....

YEEEWWEEEAHHHHOHHHHHHHHAHHHH

Hassan: long winded generic heel speech, about 10 minutes duration

Austin: Damn, son, you just about put me to sleep. And what are you wearing on your head? A towel? What? A tablecloth? What? A Bedsheet?

Daivari: noises resembling a dying chicken, in Farsi

Austin: Damn, son you better take the base out of your voice or I'll slap that stupid beard off your face.

Hassan and Daivari do a beatdown on Austin

JR: BAH GOD, those damn....Arab Americans....who aren't like other Arab Americans...just took the rattlesnake out to the woodshed....Wrestlemania XXI in LA is gonna be like explosive....well, not that they're going to...ah, hell STONE COLD STONE COLD STONE COLD....

I'm thinking this isn't the scenario you wanted.

I am going to go out on a limb and say, he will get the biggest pops, but will make at the most a .2 difference in the ratings. I don't see Austin making that big of a difference in today's ClimaHHHte on Raw.

It will be fun to see him back for awhile, though. Of course chances are if his return is anything like last time, it will get old in about two weeks.

Would be nice to get some backstage reports though of HHH feeling uneasy. LOL.

He'll get a huge return pop and then people will be sick of him within 2 weeks when he goes back to just randomly giving the Stunner to mid-carders.

Folks, don't get too excited, here's the story from WWE.com itself:

Stone Cold™ Goes Hollywood!

WHO: WWE Chairman Vince McMahon & Stone Cold Steve Austin

WHAT: Press Conference to announce Film Deal with Stone Cold Steve Austin

WHERE: LA Roosevelt Hotel, 7000 Hollywood Boulevard between Highland & LaBrea, Hollywood, CA 90028 – Oscar Room

WHEN: Wednesday January 18 – NOON (Crews please arrive at 11:30am)

One on One interviews will take place after the press conference

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and legendary superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin will be on hand this coming Wednesday January 18 to announce their agreement for a three-picture deal under the WWE Films™ banner.  WWE Films will produce and fully finance the films under the supervision of Joel Simon, President of WWE Films.  Most recently, Steve wrapped a supporting role in The Longest Yard, starring Adam Sandler and directed by Peter Segal, scheduled for release by Paramount later this year.

Stone Cold Steve Austin’s first project for WWE Films will be The Condemned™, written by Rob and Andrew Hedden.  The film will be executive produced by Vince McMahon and George Vrabeck.  The film will be produced by Joel Simon in association with Sidestreet/New Wave Entertainment.  The story deals with a cop on death-row who is given a second chance when chosen to compete on a deadly reality show. Pursued by ruthless killers, his survival and the key to his freedom depend on him surviving long enough to take down the one person responsible for putting him behind bars.

Aside from the Stone Cold Steve Austin deal, WWE Films, will produce and fully finance another two to four films a year.  The first film out of the gate is The Marine™, currently in post-production in Los Angeles after wrapping production on location Queensland, Australia.  The film stars and marks the motion picture debut of WWE SmackDown! ™ Superstar John Cena (currently seen every Thursday night on WWE’s Smackdown! on UPN from 8:00pm-10:00pm EST.), and co-stars with Robert Patrick (Terminator 2, Ladder 49) and Kelly Carlson (Nip/Tuck).

WWE Films is also in post-production on the tentatively titled Goodnight™, starring WWE RAW® Superstar Kane®, also making his motion picture debut.  The film is described as an intense horror movie with a unique and unusual setting.  WWE RAW Superstar Kane can currently be seen every Monday night on WWE Monday Night RAW live on Spike from 9:00pm-11:00pm EST.

I would welcome him back as a special guest or as part of the HOF ceremonies, but I don't want to see him wrestle. He is like Arn Anderson in that his injury is so severe that I would take no joy in seeing him trying to wrestle, no matter how good he used to be.

Maybe Austin gets the honor to lose to HHH or Orton at Wrestlemania this year.

Austin: I have been watching Monday Night Raw for the past few months...

Orton: So you're here to help me destroy HHH?

Austin: [Clears Throat]WHAT! AWWWWWWWWWAHHHHHHWWWK! WHAT! [/Clears Throat] Randall Keith Orton Shut your pretty boy pie whole!

Orton: I am the youngest world champion! I deserve some respect!

Austin: WHAT! Son you better lower your voice. You aint nothing special son. All you do is botch moves......HOW THE HELL could you screw up the Stunner. You jump to high Son.

Orton: *Charges Austin*

Austin: *Swings chair*

Mein gott, all this is for the announcement of a film deal so Austin will star in some of their awful B-movies? And the first film is, as Jingus pointed out, a rip-off of the fucking RUNNING MAN no less?!?!?!

Christ on a cracker.

I'm curious about something, since I'm west coast and get to watch Raw alone in about 2 hours while all you East coasters and DirecTVers have all the fun with your one & only threads. Damn cable.

How did Steve Austin tie into this? The original poster said they were promoting a press conference in Hollywood, probably for Mania. So, what did they say to make you think Austin has anything in this?

Well, the graphic has a picture of Austin, Austin's music played in the background and JR plugged it as a major announcement with Steve Austin.

Of course the article I posted from WWE.com confirms its just to announce a film agreement.

Sounds like a straight to Cinemax/Showtime movie.

Unless you’re his doctor that is really a blanket statement.

He has a bad neck and knee’s but that doesn’t mean he can’t go any more… and if he does it would probably be a one-off match which is easily done if he really wants it.

HOF means your done, and he isn’t done by a long shot yet!!

Folks, don't get too excited

Which reply in this thread gave you the impression that anyone was excited?

I would get excited if they fired King and made Austin an announcer.

That wouldn't sound like a bad idea at all, come to think of it. Austin could/is a great color man, and could also provide his own assessment on matches. I say go with it. It'd be better than having to hear "PUPPIES!" all the time.

I was actually going to suggest bringing back Austin in a commentator role, but it looks like someone beat me to the punch.

I hope its more than to just announce the movie deal . Austin may not be able to wrestle all that well anymore but he is still entertaining . Something needs to happen to freshen up the HHH show .

Austin as a commentator would lick. He would become his charicter and use that stupid redneck voice and would sound dumb. He wouldnt use anaylisis, he would be confrontational. Therefor, it would be EXACTLY like his GM role. If anything, the GM thing fit him best. But make it so he cant bury people.
