The Czech Republic Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 It's in the game! Come on. Ben Wallace knocks people down in ways that can't be legal. And they should think of some way where players have a temper rating, and the higher that is, and the more ticky-tack a foul is, the more likely they are to lash out and get a technical called. Also, trash talking. Just a thought.
alfdogg Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 There should also be a fight feature like in some of the hockey games.

iggymcfly Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 The flagrants I can see, but if one of my players got pissed off and got a technical while I was playing, I'd get pissed off and want to break the screen. I don't like that idea at all.
The Czech Republic Posted February 7, 2005 Author Report Posted February 7, 2005 What if you get too fancy executing a dunk and hit the backboard
Ced Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 Technicals and ejections for unsportsmanlike conduct and fighting would make for a more "real" presentation and I'd dig players getting into my face after a hard foul, but I doubt that the NBA would want to have their image put in that kind of light again after the Detroit-Indiana incident. But I could see them being OK with guys getting the T by bitching at the refs after getting called for a foul.

MrRant Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 Kobe looks like someone stole his pot pie.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 I can't believe that white girl told on me.
The Czech Republic Posted February 8, 2005 Author Report Posted February 8, 2005 Just you wait. I'll triangle YOU. ...bitch. But no, seriously, for the sake of realism, they need to include technical fouls. Coaches too. Guess that would be the downfall that comes along with a high-rated Larry Brown or Don Nelson-coached team. Then when the coach gets ejected...um...you lose...playbook? I guess I didn't think that part through. But definitely have them.
MrRant Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 I make OJ Simpson look like Malcom X don't I motherfucker?
Ripper Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 I make OJ Simpson look like Malcom X don't I motherfucker? What the fuck does that even mean? What have i told you. If the joke isn't good.... sigh... i give up.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 See? I can poke fun at my own team at times too.

I guess I didn't think that part through. But definitely have them. They do have technicals. Unfortunately it's of the lame "defensive 3 seconds" variety. REAL technicals would be interesting, but you know Supreme Dictator Stern wouldn't allow it...
Rendclaw Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 My question is, why? Getting teed up in a game is just silly. I don;t need that level of realism in my video games, and if I was playing a game where that happened, my controller would go out the damned window. I agree that there should be flagrant fouls. Live 96 had them, although the problem with those were that your players would be knocked out of the game and possibly more afterwards.
The Czech Republic Posted February 9, 2005 Author Report Posted February 9, 2005 It doesn't need to happen all the time, every time, in the most critical of situations, but they could find a way to incorporate them into the game. And it's not as if they'd only be called against the player. I'm sure you wouldn't be upset if the CPU got T'd.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 If only they could somehow measure my actual bitching about getting called for ticky tack shooting fouls and give me a technical for that, it'd be great.
The Czech Republic Posted February 9, 2005 Author Report Posted February 9, 2005 Is there a way they can sense you throwing the controller on the floor in anger?
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 I wouldn't complain if I was provided with the option to kick a photographer in the balls or tell a female fan to "suck my dick." I'd do with Dan Dickau or Kirk Hinrich just to add to the fun.
The Czech Republic Posted February 9, 2005 Author Report Posted February 9, 2005 Do it with Shaun Bradley.
Ripper Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Do it with Shaun Bradley. THats not exactly outside the norm. I think Shawn Bradly has gotten into more fights than any other player in the league. And I am not joking...seriously...I think that is true. That is one angry Mormon.
The Czech Republic Posted February 9, 2005 Author Report Posted February 9, 2005 Doesn't matter how often. Shaun Bradley is just a walking all-purpose punchline.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Not nearly as much as Greg Ostertag.
The Czech Republic Posted February 10, 2005 Author Report Posted February 10, 2005 Bradley is Walton's punchline of choice.

This reminds me of when the football games used to allow hitting after the play and I took out Brett Favre as often as possible when playing my Packer fan friend. Exactly why these types of things ARE needed. (But damn I enjoyed that)
Guest Failed Mascot Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 They should also have Ron Artest request a month off to promote his rap album when you play Franchise Mode.
Black Lushus Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 I dunno about NBA Live, but I wish the CPU would call a timeout for once in ESPN so I don't have to spend all mine to get subs in and out...
The Czech Republic Posted February 12, 2005 Author Report Posted February 12, 2005 I should be able to trip Vince Carter and get HIM thrown out.
Rendclaw Posted February 12, 2005 Report Posted February 12, 2005 set up the subs so that they take place on the next dead ball.
