Vikings-Used to like them, after Green's book didn't care either way. Than after purple pride and the '98 season. I completly turned on them.

Used to hate:

- Islanders: I hated quite a bit them up until Charles Wang bought the team and the Rangers started to suck. I still like the Rangers more (I dunno, sadomasochism?) but I don't mind the Isles.

 

- Yanks: Now they're just funny. They're still good, but I don't have a fear of them. My brother's even becoming a Mets fan because he finds the Yankees boring and NL ball is usually better and more exciting.

The St. Louis Rams. Going from Dick Vermiel to Mike Martz is like ordering a PPV for Benoit/Guerrero and finding out they were replaced by Viscera/Heidenreich during the show.

 

I was never a huge Rams fan either, but I liked them. Imagine how the diehard fans must think.

L.A. Lakers (1991-99)

 

I used to worship the ground they walked on, but once they signed Shaq I gradually began to lose the passion I had for the team(Since I like underdogs, It's not as fun to root for the team when they got the most dominating guy in the league). Well once they got rid of Van Exel and Eddie Jones I became a Laker hater for life.

Used to hate the Browns due to the rivalry with the Steelers, but they've sucked so much since their rebirth that hating them now is like hating a retarded person.

I never really cared for the Heat. Still not a fan of them. But I find Dwayne Wade entertaining to watch. So I'll watch them when they're on for that reason. But I won't really root for them unless I don't care for the team they're playing.

I'll fess up: I started out as a Bulls fan, back in 1989. From then until Jordan's first retirement, I split time between the Bulls and Pacers, then focused on the Pacers after his retirement. That next season (1993-94), the Pacers got out of the first round of the NBA playoffs for the first time ever and made it all the way to the East Finals (should have been NBA Finals, but I've expressed my disgust with that situation enough and don't really care to go into it again), and I was hooked. Even when Jordan came back, I disliked the Bulls by default because we were direct division rivals.

Now I'll confess. I sorta like Reggie Miller, so I want the Pacers to make it into the playoffs and go as far as they can get as long as they don't play the Bulls.

I doubt there's much of a chance we'll cross paths in the playoffs, as it would probably require both teams to beat division winners in the first round. Course, if the Pacers draw the winner of the Atlantic, I can probably rest easy. Holy Christ is that division terrible.

Baseball: Used to hate, hate, HATE the A's, but now I'm so much interested in their current philosophies to be hating them.

 

Hockey: Used to like the Leafs, but that was pretty much before the Senators re-established a franchise in 1990 for the 92-93 season.

I used to like the New Jersey Devils after I started using them in NHL '93 on the Sega Genesis, but I've come to hate them for being the embodiment of most things wrong with the NHL - a large market team that plays the trap.

 

Believe it or not, the team that I used to hate but have warmed up to is the Pittsburgh Steelers. I can't explain why I didn't like them growing up - although all the Yinzers didn't (and still don't) help. It wasn't until a visit to Nashville and us going to the Pitt Panther football games that I started to like them. Living now in southern Ohio where most fans are either Bengals or Browns fans helped.

The Flyers and the Red Wings were my two favorite hockey teams when I was younger. I began to dislike the Flyers during the Lindros era.....partially because of him and partly Bobby Clarke. I still don't like them much because of ESPN's east coast fawning over them and the Rangers but the feeling has lessened.

 

I never liked the Rangers much anyway so I guess they wouldn't count.

I used to hate the Bulls when I was little, because they always used to beat the Knicks in the Playoffs. I have always liked Jordan though, even though he was one of the reasons the Bulls always defeated the Knicks.

 

I use to hate the Pacers because I thought Reggie Miller was an obnoxious jackass. The Pacers defeating the Knicks in the '95 Playoffs didn't help matters. Now, I'm okay with them, and I root for them in the Playoffs now because I think they deserve to win just once, unless they are facing the Nets.

I'm not going with a team, but a sport. I used to love basketball, now I just can't into the game anymore (I'm talking about the NBA). I think it comes from being a Jordan fan more than an actual basketball fan. When he retired after the '98 Finals, my interest has decreased every year.

Maybe, But McHale is a former player, and players might be more willing to listen. Garnett even said McHale was a breath of fresh air.

I used to love the two SF teams (Giants and Niners) however I decided that my heart was in LA and not to mention I saw Piazza and Karros hit B2B homers against the Giants in 93 and that sealed it. Of course my allegiance to the Dodgers is about to be exhiled to the Halos because of the Boston Parking Lot Attendant and DePo's complete and utter destruction of a playoff team. As for the Niners, I just got tired of watching them get their ass kicked by Green Bay and plus my best friend was from GB which converted me. Though I also am enjoying watching the Pats.
