Exslade ZX Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Was I the only one that thought HHH was gonna fall out of the chair? I thought he was gonna do some bit where he fell and the crowd started laughing, ,and he just goes off on them, the way he kept leaning back on it.
SuperJerk Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 If that promo had gone on for another 5 minutes, he'd have gotten around to burying Kurt Angle, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Sylvester Stallone, and the entire city of Los Angeles (alphabetically).
Downhome Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I didn't think it was that great either. If HHH really wants to show up Batista, he should show a video of Batista being D-Von Dudley's "Decon", holding that case, and then play up that Batista was nothing before HHH. I'd enjoy that.
CanadianChick Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Meh, it was about the same promo he does every time. He's the diamond in the business, Orton/Batista (this time both!) would be nothing without him, Smackdown's a joke, he's the best, blah blah blah.
2GOLD Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Was I the only one that thought HHH was gonna fall out of the chair? I thought he was gonna do some bit where he fell and the crowd started laughing, ,and he just goes off on them, the way he kept leaning back on it. And that would have made for a better promo. Triple H feeling humilated and pissed off beyond belief. Instead it's HHH promo 3a, he's the Game, he made the business, blah blah blah. It really is rinse, lather and repeat when it comes to his promos now.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I watched for a couple of minutes. He reminded me of some old man bent over leaning on his cane and complaining about how things are different than when he was young.
Slayer Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 The promo demonstrated everything that I said in this post In other words, it blew
DMann2003 Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I believe HHH tells a good story, that's his plus... Problem is, as has been stated, it's the same story over and over. He needs a new story to tell. He takes the long blond hair from Flair The handlebar moustache from Harley The physique of Superstar Billy Graham And the obssesive compulsive need to be the champ/focus of the show from Hogan.
Guest Coffey Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Actually, I'd say that handlebar moustache is more of an homage to Lemmy from Motorhead than to Harley Race. Well, if I were guessing anyway, since Triple H is a big Motorhead fan.
AndrewTS Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 The Terry Shiavo references almost made my jaw drop. You're kidding, right? I didn't even blink at it.
NoCalMike Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 The promo was no different then any HHH promo over the last three years, besides sitting in a chair for it.
LessonInMachismo Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 The promo was no different then any HHH promo over the last three years, besides sitting in a chair for it. The last promo where he sat on a chair was definitely different, though.
natey2k4 Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 When your a wrestler, and your a heel.. you think your the best.. therefore your going to say your better then everyone else. Batista was part of Evolution, who also claimed to the best, therefore he said Batista could of went over there and won because he was part of Evolution. So How the hell does it bury people? It doesn't bury anyone as far as I'm concerned.. Mind you the promo still sucked ass.. And im not even a HHH fan, I cant stand the guy.
jester Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 So How the hell does it bury people? It doesn't bury anyone as far as I'm concerned.. Mind you the promo still sucked ass.. And im not even a HHH fan, I cant stand the guy. He said that Orton is so desperate he's done the suicidal thing by taking on the Undertaker. He crowed over his win over Benoit, the guy he could not beat. He said Batista could easily beat Cena and JBL. He said that Batista is not on his level, and will lose at WM. He sneeringly dismissed four or five wrestlers he's not in a program with. These guys won't be even cutting a promo firing back at him, or running out to give HHH a beatdown. Now, most of this could be remedied if HHH puts over Batista. If he doesn't, or if he does the token win followed by getting his job back, once again HHH has buried half of the guys who could break out and be stars.
Team Angle Pusher Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Triple H: "You know what I went through to create a future for this business?" You did?
notJames Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Every week I praise the techno-gods for bringing Picture-In-Picture to us mortals so that I don't have to listen to any more of HHH's promos. Seriously, how enthralling can it be to watch Ol' Muttonchops sitting on a chair and delivering his typical marathon spiel? "Me great. Everyone else suck. Grunt grunt grunt." In the time it took him to finish, the Knicks went on a 23-5 run against the Spurs. Sheesh! As for Orton, he got the Lil' Box treatment too. And that "turn" couldn't have been more telegraphed if he wrote "Stop." on Stacy's prone body. Now i'm half-rooting for UT to kill him dead, and I hate UT. Shit, I hope the roof collapses on the both of them at WM21. Don't even get me started on the Tag Champs once again playing second banana and Molly F'N Holly having to job to Gidget. Not a good night to be a wrestling fan. Thank goodness for that Taxi Driver promo, which made most of that show seem worthwhile.
Guest MikeSC Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 That promo made me barren. You really into SNL now? -=Mike

NoCalMike Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Yeah the problem with most of Triple H's promos, is that it is always the final word on matters. He gets to sit there and insult and put down other champions and workers on the roster, yet you won't catch anyone else with the chance to say smarky, and "witty" things to make HHH look like a fool. Last time someone did that I believe was RVD with the whole "grrrr" stuff, and even that led to nothing in the long run. The worst was the part about Smackdown champs being weak, and the schmucky way he propped up beating Benoit asif the losses to him were somehow insignificant, because hey he finally got that one win.
Jericholic82 Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I find it somewhat funny how Trips acts like he "molded" Dave and taught him, treating him like he is a youngster or somethin, when in fact Batista is older than HHH. I guess since Trips is the veteran of the two (12 plus years) it fits, but it sound funny. I alos thought he was going to fall out of the chair. The promo was too long, but it just contued his persona of being an egotistical, noncaring jerkwad. He says hes mad how Batista turned on him, but wont say why he should have gone to SD (remember at first he seemed so excited of two evo members in the me) But he basically implies that he is afraid of Batista, by acting the opposite in an over the top way (overexagrerrated confidence) . Clearly he is scared of dave (in the storyline) and knows he can take his title and possibly seriously hurt him. As for burying everyone, he always does that, but its part of his character again (he thinks he is better than everyone) . But if Cena or even JBL showed up on RAW to confront him, hed probably back off. But his promos have basically been the saem for over 5 years so no big whoop as for the pulling the plug refernce, it m ay have been in bad taste, but the crowd understood what he meant. You know its a slow news week when that is the main current events story.
Jericholic82 Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 One more thing, Lawler asked JR during the ME if he had ever heard of Batista before he was in Evolution and he said no How dumb, regardless of his SD run, Batista appeared on RAW by himself for a good few weeks before Flair started mentoring him. and Evolution wasnt formed as such until Jan 03 after the rumble when orton, dave, trips and flair beat up steiner.
The Czech Republic Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 OH MY GOD HE'S SUCH A PIMP YOU CAN PIMP ME ANYTIME
natey2k4 Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 What's Triple H supposed to say?... I beat Benoit last week.. but he's better than me? He's burying people as it's his character... I hate Triple H as much as the next person, and I hate his promo's.. I just dont see how it's burying people, when its his character to do so.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 The problem with HHH burying people in promo's is that he does it by telling the truth about the weaknesses of whoever he's talking about. Heels shouldn't be telling the truth as it is, but they especially shouldn't be telling the truth about the various weaknesses of the rest of the roster. When a heel puts down someone, he shouldn't be doing it in a manner that can cause people to say, "You know, he's right about that." He should be saying it in a manner where people respond to it with, "You know, he's talking out of his ass."

He should be saying it in a manner where people respond to it with, "You know, he's talking out of his ass." EXACTLY. A heel should cut promos full of lies. They should make claims they are clearly not entitled to. Heels should claim that they won a match without cheating... when they cheated from bell to bell. They should accuse the face of doing all the stuff they are guilty of. HHH says nobody can beat him. And he's right. This does not make him a good heel. It just makes the audience depressed.
humongous2002 Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 HHH has cut the same promo over and over since 2002, he has never been a good promo man to begin with and all he talks about is the fact that he has beaten every WWE superstar and that he's the diamond in this business, blah, blah, blah. He tries so hard to be Flair but he's more like Dusty Rhodes.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 He tries so hard to be Flair but he's more like Dusty Rhodes. In more ways than one.
