luke-o Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 Same with what they did with Van Halens cover of "Really Got Me". I felt they should have put Faith No More's version of War Pigs instead of Sabbaths, then it could have said, "As made better by Faith No More".
KingPK Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 The full setlist for Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s has been released. Red Baron Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 I just hope that they have The Hellion intro to Electric Eye.
Ravenbomb Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Same with what they did with Van Halens cover of "Really Got Me". I felt they should have put Faith No More's version of War Pigs instead of Sabbaths, then it could have said, "As made better by Faith No More". Word.
MrRant Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 I simply can not move my fingers fast enough on "Woman" to pass it on hard. I've tried everything and I just can't do it. This has been my bane as well.
CanadianGuitarist Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 There's a thread on GameFaqs entitled "Which achievements are you just letting go?" I've given up on the 500,000 song and the 5-starring of everything on expert.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 I've come really close to 500,000 on X-Stream.
Spaceman Spiff Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Blatantly stolen from DVDVR: video of a Starts out pretty tame, but then HOLYFUCKINGSHIT it picks up.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Holy Flirking schnit. Right at about 2:00 everything goes to hell. And it's not even because of the volume of notes, because Jordan has that beat. Just the speed of it and the placement of some of those (the quick green-yellow-orange ascension in particular) are crazy. And I can say that's the first time I've seen 4 button chords on any custom song.
KingPK Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 I've given up on successfully being able to strum quickly enough to catch those fast runs of repeating notes (see: Misirlou on expert for an extreme example)
death_by_burrito Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Misirlou and Hangar 18 were the two songs on the last expert tier to give me trouble. Hangar 18 took me the last week to finally beat. Now all I got left is Freebird, which I tried for a couple of hours to beat, but just got tired of failing and taking 5 mins. to get back to the spot where I keep failing at. I'm determined though, so hopefully i'll get it before I have to go to work tomorrow, cause if not it'll be bothering me until I get home to try at it again.
CanadianGuitarist Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 I played FreeBird on medium 15 times yesterday (FIFTEEN!) in the hopes of getting the 400k and 1000-note streak achievement. I never quite did it, but in one instance, I got every note but two in the entire song. This meant a score of 387,000, not quite good enough for the 1000-note streak, but enough to keep me motivated. I figured, with the difference in notes missed, 400,000 would be a lock if I played the song perfectly. This morning, my first try, I played it perfectly. Got the 1000-note streak, but wound up with a score of 399,517.
GeneMean Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Try revamping your SP path. The top score listed on scorehero.com is 431k
CanadianGuitarist Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 Abuse the whammy bar as much as possible. Makes no difference, unless there's a held note that ends a star, in which case the meter will fill faster. My theory was to not use SP during the first two verses, but use it every other time it was ready to use. I've actually reverted to breaking down each part of Free Bird on hard in practise mode and hoping to kill both the 400k and 500k birds with that stone.
KingPK Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 So did anyone else pick up Rocks The 80s? I was underwhelmed at first playing on Medium to unlock all the songs, but once I got into a Career on Hard, I started enjoying it more. The track listing certainly could have been better (especially towards the end) and where the HELL did they get that original recording of I Wanna Rock? It sounds nothing like the version I remember. And they weren't kidding when it was said that Because, it's Midnite had a ball-busting solo included. Holy mother of God, my fingers nearly burned off trying it.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 I traded guitar hero in today, got £40. Suddenly found it very boring, can't explain why.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Finally beat Freebird on Hard. Kept getting stuck at about 91% but worked on my HO/POs enought to stagger through it. Now I get to go back and try to 5* everything. I'm not looking forward to it. Then I get to move to Expert. Joy. I might be able to get past Expert before GH3 comes out.
Spaceman Spiff Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 I actually played GH (actually GH2) for the 1st time tonight. I'm planning on getting GH3, so I figured I should at least try the game to see of I'll like it. I got boo'd a bit in the middle of "War Pigs".
10 Pounds Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Did a little bit of fooling around YouTube and found a video of what seems like Are the mods and custom songs exclusives to the XB360 version of Guitar Hero, which people can download on XBox Live ?
Exslade ZX Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Did a little bit of fooling around YouTube and found a video of what seems like Are the mods and custom songs exclusives to the XB360 version of Guitar Hero, which people can download on XBox Live ? I'm pretty sure those are actually "mods". There's a way to like hook Guitar Hero up to your computer, ,and actually create whatever song you want. (I think that's the PS2 version, don't know if it's possible with 360 or not..) so yea..
CanadianGuitarist Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 I got off my couch and did a Tiger Woods fist pump upon 5-starring, in succession, Woman, and Crazy On You, on Hard. Crazy on you had dogged me for a while, but I was trying Woman for about 3 months. Eight songs to 5-star left to go on Hard.
Urban Warfare Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 Metallica's ''One" will be in Guitar Hero III! Link As will "Through the Fire and Flames" by DragonForce, and "Raining Blood" by Slayer. Wow.
Mike wanna be Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 How long before they get Dyers Eve and people get their shit ruined?
jimmy no nose Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 I'm never going to be able to play the Dragonforce song:
Matt Young Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 Holy shit. Metallica in Rock Band was cool enough (despite "Enter Sandman" being meh) but "One"... Fuck yeah!
Nate Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 I'm never going to be able to play the Dragonforce song: Oh My God, that song has to be the closer because of the sheer difficulty of the song
Ced Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 I'm thinking bonus track since so few people are capable of pulling that insanity off. Especially if they use the full song complete with the solo.
