MrRant 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 For me it has to be both Dune for the Genesis and Dune 2000 for the PC. I can get through a good portion of the levels fine but then the asswhipping starts due to one of my Trikes going off into enemy territory and then them knowing I'm around and then proceed to beat the piss out of me since I don't have my units up to speed yet. Or in the same ilk, in this game you think you have a large amount of units and go to pounce on the enemy and they have double yours and end up again getting your ass handed to you. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 Some parts of Simpsons Hit and run are excruciatingly difficult to beat, epspecially races. I never could get past like the third level in" rocky and bullwinkle" for genesis, and I have been trying for nearly 10 years.
Aero 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 I've started playing Captain America & The Avengers for SNES (it's also on Genesis). I'm almost positive it was an arcade port. Anyway, it's barely much fun at all since it's just so annoyingly hard. I've had it forever, yet I've never beaten it. I finally got to the last stage against giant Red Skull yesterday with only 18 points of life left. One punch from him, and I'm dead. As bad as the game is, however, I'm determined to beat it. I've probably played harder games, but I can't think of any others right now. UPDATE: In a miraculous effort, I was able to beat Avengers. My life may as well be complete. haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 Im gonna go with Battletoads. You need the reflexes of a god to get past the Hypertunnel. I got that game as a kid and never ever made it past there, though I could get about half way through before the walls started moving ridiculously fast. Other games so hard that all the fun is taken out of them are: Ninja Gaiden (X-Box) Devil May Cry 3 - Seriously, fuck this game. WHen the easy mode on your game is harder than God of War's God difficulty, you have problems. X-Men and Spider-Man: Arcade's Revenge Terminator II Arcade Game for SNES - IMPOSSIBLE to get past the level where you escort John Connor's pickup truck to Skynet. No matter what I did, the truck always exploded.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 Ghouls & Ghosts was just brutal. I never even came close to beating it. Some of the overhead shooting games (1942-type games) can be very difficult too. Nothing recent even touches the difficulty of stuff back in the 8-bit and early 16-bit days. Things started getting easier about halfway through the SNES's life.
{''({o..o})''} 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 Battletoads, Ghouls and Ghosts, and Chakan are worthwhile mentions, though I did eventually end up completing the last two.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 Mars Matrix Ninja Gaiden (X-Box) It's annoying when a sequel comes out, and it's structured in a way to assume that you've played and mastered the previous game, with no attempt made for a normal learning curve. On the other hand, there's also those countless, annoying hand-holding tutorials that make up plenty of others.
El Psycho Diablo 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 Ninja Gaiden really isn't that hard, at least on Normal. The Hurricane Packs really ramp it up, though.

Scroby 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 I still haven't beat the third level on Ghosts 'n Goblins. Would that be the level with that tattoo guys? They have litte tattoo hearts on their arms? If you think that level is hard, when I was little I got towards the end....SO VERY FREAKING HARD! You know those blue haired flying goblins that are a boss in one of the beginning levels? They are all over the place!
Renegade 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 Ghosts 'n Goblins and Spiderman vs the kingpin (gamegear), I don't think that game even has a 4th stage.
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted July 4, 2005 Devil May Cry on Dante Must Die Mode which was insanely difficult to beat. I haven't played the 3rd game yet. Ninja Gaiden was tough. Kid Icarus which I rescently tried the other day looks like it could be tough Castlevania III Blaster Master Battletoads actually made my thumb hurt. Just like Ninja Gaiden whenever I need a challenge I like to beat this Super Ghouls and Ghosts Among others. There are tons of difficult shooters out there Punchout Super Smash Tv if you play it by yourself on the hardest level

Aero 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 Spider-Man & X-Men: Arcade's Revenge. There's a game that I believe I can safely say that I'll never beat. Both of Storm's and Gambits are too frustrating (although I've beaten both of Gambit's about before, and one of Storm's), and I still can't beat Juggernaut in Wolverine's second level despite cutting down all the anvils. The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 Captain Planet on the NES.... I think it's the third level, or maybe even just the second, and you're flying in whatever Captain Planets ship is called over the sea and I think you need to do something like use the power of love to get some dolphins to help you do something. It's impossible.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 The very first game I ever got for my NES was a game called Isolated Warrior. I don't think I ever beat the first level. Ever.
