I can't believe people are debating whether or not this is a work.

They kept the cameras on him. That right there says its a work.

They let him talk on the mic instead of cutting it off. That right there says its a work.

The 3-headed announce crew completely ignored it. That right there says its a work.

And you know what? It worked!

And thank you, Vince, for saving this for a New Jersey show, where all great wrestling moments (outside of Canada) occur. ;)

(Oh wait, what do you mean RAW isn't over? Oh, it's only the dinosaur portion of the show. I'll just keep the TV turned off until they're extinct again.)

What a lame ending. Why would he be a coward? He kicked the guy in the head on national television.

I know it's not going to happen, but Michaels could REALLY use new music for this gimmick.

My thoughts exactly. I was thingking about how ridiculous it would be if it starting playing after the SCM, with the camera on mean-faced Micheals.

Cause he caught him with a cheapshot instead of straight-up challenging him to a match.

Compare to the setup for Rock/Hogan (WMX8): Rock asked Hogan point-blank for a match.

Raw = gigantic steaming pile except for the Matt segment.

I thought the opener was alright, Carlito vs Benjamin was good (Im a Honky Tonk Man mark so I like the cowardly heel champ bit), and the Pipers Pit at the end was nothing bad.

I couldve done without the foot fetish thing (what was the point?) and I didnt watch the diva segment.

The Matt angle is classic.

Good Raw and, for the first time in years, made me want to watch next week.

Yeah, I was disappointed he didn't get a new song. I think maybe a superslow remix in the vein of The Rock's remix (when he returned in 2003) would work. It's odd when you consider that (DX theme aside) HBK has had the same basic entrance music since 1992.

Except Piper was talking about WHY Shawn attacked Hogan, not HOW he attacked Hogan.

Hogan/HBK will most likely be like Hogan/Rock - the match itself will probably not be that great, but it'll be passable and be enough of a "memorable moment" that we'll turn into marks for 15 minutes or so. Hogan wins, fades out for just a little while, until Austin challenges him for WrestleMania 22.

Good: MATT FUCKING HARDY! Also, I dug Piper's Pit, or at least Piper. Also, this weeks Angle Invitational. Hell, I love how the WWE seems to be playing with the net. Oh, and Gene Snitsky: Foot Fetishist.

The Bad: Diva Search (skipped that though)

The Mediocre/Just OK: Everything else.

All in all, this Raw is a classic because of Matt Hardy. Other than that, it was a middling affair. After tonight though, I'll bet ya that Vince has this in his eyes: $_$

Are there two Matt Striker/Strykers? I thought I read somewhere that said it wasn't the same one who had worked for ROH, but this Striker is actually gonna work for ROH or just had been...so are there two different wrestlers with the same name? Or just one.

Nah, Michaels will drag a very good match out of Hogan.

You forget how good he is compared to say, the Rock at carrying people.

This is the guy who had a great match with friggin Yokozuna on Raw.

My God, that match would be great.

If this was 2002.

But now? It could reach Hogan-Warrior II levels of badness.

First off, KOAB, everytime I see your avatar it makes me regret deleting that video. Both of those girls are....

As for that last segment...I'm mad. They dress him up in all white to make it come across as him being pure and virginal. I loved it. I thought it'd be the perfect set up for what someone here mentioned before as HBK wanting to get Hogan for being referred to as "God", and even as immortal. But to be honest, I damn near fell asleep during his little speech. Blah blah, I did this because I wanted to sacrifice myself for the fans and be in Hogan's final match. LAME. You have dude dressed to act the part of someone who's been cleansed, and shit all over it. Fuck Hogan, fuck "HasBeenKid"(lol, that's great @ the guy who used that).

Other than that, as I said earlier, best RAW of 2005. Can't wait for next week. :)
