So an MTV2 award gets absolutely no representation from Headbangers Ball, even though that is pretty much the only original MUSIC programming on MTV2.

50 Cent, "Candy Shop"

Gwen Stefani, "Hollaback Girl"

For some reason I feel like pointing out that these are the only two videos on that list I've actually seen.

How is Kanye still milking trophies out of College Dropout? Shouldnt they have his new video as the nominee?

I really don't care that much, and don't watch enough MTV to really have an opinion ... but how is it that there are different categories for rap, R&B, and hip-hop but just a generic "rock" for all of the variations of that genre? Shouldn't there be a metal category, or other sub-categories for rock, too?

My prediction for the winners: In a shocking precedented move Jack Shit has swept the VMA's for the umpteenth year in a row.

Even the show is shitty this year, P. Diddy as host. To quote Triumph "I didn't know wearing a suit was a skill"

It's MTV. Everyone knows they only play Rap, R&B, and Pop. Did you expect actual rock?

Headbangers Ball is Metal and comes on every saturday night. I wasn't so much complaining as I was just asking why would a regular MTV2 show get absolutely zero representation for an award designated specifically for that channel. Correct me if I am wrong but besides Headbangers ball which is actually a themed music show, the rest of the music on MTV is just random "MTV2 Music" played out in long 4 hour gaps...!?!

Wow, not that many nominations for Eminem.

Yeah, this is the first time in five years that he hasn't recieved a nomination for Best Video fo the Year. Last year his group D12 got nominated for that category so he counts for that one.

I've wondered that myself. And on a side note, I saw an ad for some hippie show on MTV2; wasn't MTV2 supposed to be an "all-video" station?

And best soundtrack for a video game?...

I got rid of MTV2 when they did the rebrand thing with the two headed dog or whatever it is, which is when they started playing less videos.

If you want videos on MTV, I think you need to get the MTV-Multiplexed channels that some cable systems have..

Best new artist...IN A VIDEO

Yeah, they always have some bands that have been around a while, but since it's in a video it almost makes sense...although it's not their first video

I'm sorry, I fell asleep reading that list, but does it mention who's performing or hosting...sometimes that will make up for the shitty nominees...

Performing will probably be: 1 Gangsta Rap artist with a huge ensemble, 1 R&B artist, 1 Hip Hop artist, and if they have time a possible quick performance from a crappy EMO band.

P "Stands for Past my prime from milking Biggie's death" Diddy is hosting.

Eh, it's MTV. It's completely irrelevent to me, so what's the point of getting upset?
