kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Here are Week 1's games and spreads. For those unfamiliar with point spreads, basically the team with the () next to it is the favored team, and if you pick them they must win by that amount of points. Here is the source for the odds, which were done at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 5. I tweaked the spreads that had a whole number by half a point. Oakland at New England (7.5) Chicago at Washington (6.5) Cincinnati (3.5) at Cleveland Denver (4.5) at Miami Houston at Buffalo (4.5) New Orleans at Carolina (6.5) N.Y. Jets at Kansas City (3.5) Seattle at Jacksonville (3.5) Tampa at Minnesota (6.5) Tennessee at Pittsburgh (6.5) Arizona at N.Y. Giants (1.5) Dallas at San Diego (4.5) Green Bay at Detroit (2.5) St. Louis (4.5) at San Francisco Indianapolis (3.5) at Baltimore Philadelphia (1.5) at Atlanta Here are the first week's matchups. Either post your pics in this thread or PM them to me. Don't forget to guess how many points your team will score for this week, too. If you're taking part in this league and the Pit league, just post/PM picks in one place and I'll use them for both of your teams. The deadline for submitting your pick for Thursday's game is Thursday (9/8) at 6 p.m. The deadline for submitting your picks for Sunday's games is Saturday (9/10) at 8 p.m.: There are several open teams -- Buffalo, Chicago, St. Louis -- PM me if you're interested in claiming one. If they don't get filled I'll submit picks for all three... Kahran Ramsus Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Oakland at New England (7.5) Chicago at Washington (6.5) - Both teams are trash, so I can't spot a touchdown to either one. Probably a FG game. Cincinnati (3.5) at Cleveland Denver (4.5) at Miami - I might be kicking myself about this one later. Houston at Buffalo (4.5) New Orleans at Carolina (6.5) N.Y. Jets at Kansas City (3.5) Seattle at Jacksonville (3.5) Tampa at Minnesota (6.5) - This one was tough. Tampa Bay has the ability to keep it close, but I can't pick against the Minny offense at home in September where they usually start off hot. Tennessee at Pittsburgh (6.5) Arizona at N.Y. Giants (1.5) Dallas at San Diego (4.5) Green Bay at Detroit (2.5) St. Louis (4.5) at San Francisco Indianapolis (3.5) at Baltimore Philadelphia (1.5) at Atlanta Steelers - 31 pts. If they can't put up points at home on what may be the worst defense in the conference, it could be a long season in Pittsburgh.

nl5xsk1 Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Pats - 24 Oakland at New England (7.5) Chicago at Washington (6.5) Cincinnati (3.5) at Cleveland Denver (4.5) at Miami Houston at Buffalo (4.5) New Orleans at Carolina (6.5) N.Y. Giants(1.5) Dallas at San Diego (4.5) Green Bay at Detroit (2.5) St. Louis (4.5) at San Francisco Indianapolis (3.5) at Baltimore Philadelphia (1.5) at Atlanta - my biggest question about this game is which overrated superstar will receive the most oppressive verbal fellatio, Vick or TO? I've got my money on TO.

He actually is one of the best WRs in the game. Vick probably isn't top 5 at QB, maybe not even top 10, yet he's treated like more of a star than Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. Vick should win the overrated battle in a landslide.
