I swear, ESPN have a list of about 6 teams to cover for the season. San Antonio, Detroit, Cleveland, New York, Miami and the Lakers. Every game has to involve at least one of these teams. Hey, at least we get a Bucks game to mix it up every once in a while.

This is news? ESPN's NBA game coverage is a joke, even if they are just going for the high-ratings matchups. It makes me long for the days when ABC had the NBA back in the 70s, where they would put on pretty much any two teams and call it the Game of the Week.

I'd be up for a Clippers, Warriors, Suns or Mavs game every once in a while, yes. Out of those, the Suns is the only team that even gets a look in.

I've remarked in the past that Golden State has actually gotten an amount of ESPN coverage disproportionate to their success and national fanbase. I think they want doubleheaders and with nothing better to show, stick a Warriors home game in the late spot. Mavericks have had no shortage of national games the last three years; I haven't been watching as much this year, though.

Well, the Rockets are back to being embarrassing. Guess what kind of team we've been putting on the floor for the last week.

Starters:

Ryan Bowen

David Wesley

Dikembe Mutombo

Rafer Alston

Juwan Howard

Bench:

Jon Lucas

Luther Head

Lonny Baxter

Good god. No wonder we suck and average like 70 points a game.

Now there are the Knicks we know and love. They gave up 129 points last night to the Raptors. THE RAPTORS.

As shocking as it may sound, the Raptors can compete with good teams some times. I think they had the 3rd best record in the East in December or something.

So, the Nets get their usual "beat up on jobbers for a month" stretch of the season to get the media eating out of their hands, then bam...Spurs, Mavs and Grizz, three actual contenders, come along and hand them three losses. And then they squeak out a five point win against a Pacer team lacking O'Neal, Artest and Tinsley. Shocking, really.

OMG!!!!

Shaq went up to Kobe and shook his hand during warm-ups

The feud is over, so what is poor ESPN going to talk about now ???

Simple. The fact that the feud is over... but could restart again at any second!

DUH DUH DUUUUUUUUUUUH

Total cheap shot by Shaq on Bynum a couple minutes ago...ridiculous that he was allowed to stay in the game, a lesser player would have been tossed. I would think it would be a Kobe-type deal where repercussions are taken later in the week after reviewing tapes.

Shaq throws elbows at his opponent everytime he gets the ball in the post, so I don't expect him to get fined for hitting Bynum.

Props to the rookie for showing that kind of intensity though.

Great win for the Lakers tonight. Also nice to see Shaq and Kobe being amiable tonight and ending whatever retarded feud they had going on.

ESPN is too busy fellating the Pistons, anyways.

I loved, loved when Bynum made that spin move on Shaq and dunked the ball. I also liked seeing them standing next to each other, the past and the future.

The Grizzlies have the 4th best record in the league... and they are third in their DIVISION. Just...wow...

ESPN is too busy fellating the Pistons, anyways.

They have 30 wins with only 5 losses and may be on pace for a 70 win season. It's hard not to overlook that. They are the best team in the league, period.

I enjoy Bill Simmons' articles, and enjoy how he writes from a fan's perspective. He never tries to claim he's a legitimate 'journalist'. And I hate all the teams he likes, but I still appreciate his writing ability and unique viewpoints.

The best part about that is how bad of a GM Isaiah really is...it's like the guy can't handle being bad at something. He was a bad coach and he's a worse manager...that's nothing to be ashamed at, because he's a hall of fame player.

The game was almost all Nets until the end of the fourth quarter.

And of those three losses, all were on the road, without Jefferson, and the Spurs game was close.

And on that winning streak, they beat such jobbers as Miami, Cleveland, Clippers and Denver.

Yea, the NBA really gave them 10 gimmees right there.

Isiah's not a bad general manager at all. The only thing he sucks at, is with the financial standpoint. Other than that, he's given this team an actual core. Before him, we were going to build around Sweetney, Houston, McDyess, and Lampe. With him, we're now going to build around Robinson, Frye, Lee, Curry, Crawford, and Ariza, with hopefully Marbury along the way (as he continues to improve). That's a nice core.

And it's not like he started with an incredible cap situation, and a shitload of stars either. When you think about it, all the trades he's made, he's gotten back a better player. Take a look at all the transactions. Sure, he's had to take back salary at times, but he's never given up a better player. He's also good at drafting.
