BruiserKC Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Hunter would no-sell the scythe and put the Pedigree on the Grim Reaper.
EdwardKnoxII Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 And I'd really like to see what would happen when the Undertaker dies. I have a feeling they'll rehire Brain Lee to play the Undertaker again.
Downhome Posted February 2, 2006 Author Report Posted February 2, 2006 With the way they are treating Eddie's death makes me wonder what they would do if HHH were to die soon. Hell he'd end up being on TV more then ever. Well, instead of a Ghost type of storyline, I could see them going with something more along the lines of Psychomania. *hopes that someone can understand that*
Guest Brian Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Judging by the ratings news, it seems no one cares how they treat Guerrero.
Downhome Posted February 3, 2006 Author Report Posted February 3, 2006 From WrestlingObserver: Yes, they can edit out a botched spot, or even a bad match. They can take out boos for a babyface and add cheers for a face who isn't over through the magic of post editing. But they can't edit for taste, as you'll see in the first few minutes of the show. If you're wondering what Eddie's friends think of this, just listen to our radio show Sunday is all I can say.
David Blazenwing Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Hey... with all the Eddie shilling going on lately... I've been considering a possibility... what if Eddie's not dead? And I'm being completely serious here. Given his current mindset, would ANY of you put it past Vince to attempt to trick the entire wrestling world, IWC, media world, etc. into believing one of the most talented performers in the history of his company had passed just to prove he could do it? And look at the upside... ratings increase (slightly, well, for the Tribute shows anyways), merchandising (they must be making a load off all the Eddie gear, money going to his family not withstanding, plus his book which just HAPPENED to come out right after he died, come on! Coincidence?) and more. I just have this weird feeling that Eddie will cost Rey his spot at WM at No Way Out (Rey gets Orton down, all of a sudden, Eddie's music hits and Eddie walks out onto the ramp, Rey stands in stunned silence, Orton gets up, Rey turns around, WHAM, RKO, 1, 2, 3) and it sets up Eddie/Rey for WrestleMania. I mean, idk, I could be all wrong, Eddie might very well be dead. But with the way things have been handled lately... I dunno. What if Eddie really had a heartattack or something on November 13th (or close before it) and needed to take time off? Then Vince cooks up this "huge" storyline idea, and now we're here. It's just, especially Orton's "You have just about as much chance of beating me as Eddie does at coming back to life!" really set it off in my mind that "hold on a second, maybe this theory ISN'T so crazy.
Cherry Blossom Viscount Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Interesting theory you have there old chap. But perhaps we should discuss this further along with this most excellent stock trading software I have where you just follow the arrow to riches and my own patented "No Money Down" real estate program. You seem like the type of fellow I've been looking for. And after you've made your riches we can discuss the fallout from the revelation that the WWE, who can't pull off the simplest of storylines such as wreslter A hates wrestler B, has worked the ENTIRE nation including the news media! A merry time shall be had by all.
Jericho2000Mark Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 If Triple H or Undertaker died, Vince wouldn't exploit their deaths because he actually had respect for them when they were still alive. Where as he jobbed the shit out of Eddie when he was still, by far, the biggest draw on SmackDown.
snuffbox Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 With the way they are treating Eddie's death makes me wonder what they would do if HHH were to die soon. Hell he'd end up being on TV more then ever. Proof?

If he would have been able to handle the pressure on top better, things may have been much different

There were ways to keep him looking strong without putting the belt on him.

Alot of the losses were flukey roll ups, dqs and the like. And he may very well have been winning the belt the day he died.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 A caller on WOL defended the angles by saying WWE is helping Eddie's family. Needless to say, Konnan, who is the guest right now, ripped the guy a new one.
BUTT Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I thought it was funny when the guy said "My second question is......" and then Dave cut him right off.
snuffbox Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Did the caller happen to be a desperate journalist?

The actual newspapers got their information from the hospital where he died. So unless you think a hospital was willing to throw their name into the toilet to promote a wrestling angle, it doesn't work as a theory. If no hospital was involved? Yeah, I could see Vince being sleazy enough to do it. Plus you have the guys who AREN'T employed by the WWE who have nothing to gain by going along with the angle. It's not an angle, Vince and Co really are scumbags who are just using Eddie to try desperately to get Orton heat. And I'm not sure, but I know in some states that faking your death is against the law.

Black Lushus Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I don't know if it was a good theory, but I can certainly see Vince stooping to such levels...well, not for Eddie, but maybe for HHH?
Promoter Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 You know that theory is pretty funny and scary at the same time. It would tie into Rey/Eddie's feud and also culminate with Eddie as a huge heel whom they tried to get over, but the fans weren't buying it and Rey would be super over in the sympathetic role. This wasn't concocted, but if Vince read that I wouldn't put it past him in the future to try and pull it off. He seems like the perverted type who would do that just to see how well it would go over. As for breaking the law, Vince would just use some lame excuse that it was all apart of the show.

He'd have to make it so that the real police were not involved. Cause his bullshit excuse would just piss them off more and the Government would use it as an excuse to take him down for getting away with the roids scandal. Course as senile as he's become, he might think he is above the law and try it someday.
Promoter Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I'm sure the smoking gun would expose it real quick, but I still believe Vince would really try something like this. For the simple reason that he can and see how much he can work an audience. The man is PT Barnum for sure. It's just that they toned it down in the last decade for a bunch of reasons. All you got to remember is Vince on that show with Bob Costas to see how he tries to work people all to this day. Hogan aint too far off either. In a twisted way I like the old school wwf for how far they went with kayfabe.

He was plugging Konnan being on the radio show. Meltzer said in his mailbag that the Guerrero exploitation actually doesn't make him "outraged" or mad, it just confirms what he thinks about how McMahon and Co. do business. Nice try, though.
