Diva Search losers already being hired (hopefully shocking no one):

Although Rebecca DiPietro and Maryse Ouellet did not win the 2006 $250,000 Diva Search, neither is complaining now. DiPietro was hired by WWE to attend Deep South Wrestling (DSW) in Atlanta. She’s currently preparing to relocate to Georgia to find an apartment and to take part in training.

“I’m stoked, that’s what I wanted,” said DiPietro in a phone interview. “I think I’m made to work for WWE. I think I have what it takes to be a Diva, and I’m not surprised [that she was contacted after being voted off].”

Maryse Ouellet, the second finalist eliminated in the Diva Search, hasn’t officially been hired, but was invited to observe workouts and the training facility at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) from Aug. 13-17. Although she understands there’s no guarantee that this will lead to full time employment with WWE, she’s grateful to have been given another opportunity to live out her dream.

“I can just cry, [is] my feeling right now,” Ouellet said. “I’m very excited. It was very, very good news.”

Brooke Adams, who entered the Diva Search but was cut before the eight Diva Search finalists eight were selected, will also be a part of the tryouts at OVW. WWE.com tried to reach her, but she was unavailable for comment.

I hate WWE hiring people with little to no training, woman or male. What is the point? They'll just get fired eventually for not working properly.

I guess they figure they found Trish with that tactic and haven't realised just about every single one since then has been a disaster.

WWE.com is reporting Bob Holly has been cleared to return. The date says April but there's a link to it on the news section of the front page so go figure.

Hardcore Holly returning for the fans

By Brett Hoffman

April 26, 2006

In April of this year, WWE.com did an exclusive interview with WWE Superstar Hardcore Holly, who at the time was bedridden and near-death due to a severe staph infection in his arm. Holly, who has been away from the ring since November 2005, was recently cleared to resume training and prepare for a return to the squared circle. WWE.com caught up with the resilient, hardcore veteran to get his feelings on the long-awaited comeback.

An emotional Holly described what he felt when the doctors finally cleared him for a return.

“I missed it,” explained Holly. “Being in the ring and wrestling, it’s what I do. I love it and it’s my passion. When they told me I could start training, it was a huge relief. It was a big load off my shoulders because I knew I wasn’t going to be stuck at home anymore. I’m in shape again and close to 100 percent. It’s just a matter of time until I’m back.”

While the future is now much brighter for the fan-favorite, it was a completely different story just a few months ago. As Holly explains, the infection which riddled his arm not only jeopardized his career, but also his life.

“I had an infection called MSRA, which is the worst type of staph infection that you can get. It is strong enough to kill you,” said Holly. “I was to the point where I felt so sick that I honestly thought I was going to die. At one point, the belief was that even if I survived, they might have to amputate my arm.”

Luckily, a specialized surgery saved his career, his arm, and most importantly his life. Now, with his focus back on his career, Holly wants his fans and opponents to know that despite the serious medical ordeal he experienced, nothing has changed about ol’ Hardcore.

“I’m the same aggressive, tough S.O.B. that I was the last time you saw me,” said the enthusiastic Superstar. “There’s nothing different about me. I ain’t no weaker than before, and I’m actually stronger now. When something like this happens to me, it makes me a stronger person. I’m so ready to get in the ring that I could explode. The illness couldn’t soften me up at all.”

Just as he did last time WWE.com caught up with him, Holly wanted to make sure his fans, and his critics, knew that they are the ones fueling his desire to return to the ring.

“They’re the ones that made me who I am. The least I can do is come back for them,” said a serious Holly. “I got so many emails, so many cards, so many letters. It gives me a lot of motivation because I honestly did not realize that there were that many fans out there that cared like they do. I’ve even had fans that dislike me wish me the best because they want the chance to boo me and hate me again.”

As Hardcore makes his final preparations for this return, he wanted to reiterate one key message to his supporters.

“I just want them to know that I am so grateful for all their concern, thoughts and prayers. I am going to work as hard as possible so they aren’t disappointed when I come back. When I return, I hope that I can entertain them just like before. I owe it to them…and you can underline that…I owe it to my fans to come back because without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Honestly I would not mind seeing a triple threat match between Holly, Regal and Finlay. Stiff punches for everyone!

Ugh, I hate Holly. They gave him a token title match at a big PPV and he failed to get over. He's never been over, the only time he got anything less than small mark cheers/boos or X-Pac heat was during his kinda funny "superheavyweight" gimmick, which produced terrible matches. Get him away from the active roster.

ECW fans unleashed on the Animal

By Ed Williams III

August 3, 2006

Friday night on SmackDown, the Animal Batista will be unleashed at the friendly confines of the Continental Airlines Arena where he will try to harness his rage and overcome the crafty Mr. Kennedy. Tuesday night, however, was a different story when Batista went into the Hell’s Kitchen environment of New York City at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Normally an overwhelming fan favorite, Batista was nearly booed out of the building by the boisterous and passionate ECW faithful before, during and after his ECW World Title match against Big Show.

New York crowds have always been renowned for having unique opinions and a strong knowledge of the sports-entertainment landscape. But the New York ECW fans are an entirely different animal…no pun intended. Never afraid to express their freedom of speech, their undying love for all that is extreme makes them stand out as one of a kind.

But not only was Batista, who was entering enemy territory, booed, but the ECW faithful also decided to relentlessly boo their own World Champion Big Show. The avid ECW fans in New York at the Hammerstein Ballroom refused to accept Big Show as one of their own. Big Show has achieved success on both RAW and SmackDown, and the ECW fans seemed to have their minds made up to reject anyone that did not represent the old ECW that they were brought up with.

Just one day before his big match with Mr. Kennedy on SmackDown, WWE.com caught up with SmackDown’s Animal to get his thoughts on Tuesday’s near-mutiny at Hammerstein.

“I love that the ECW fans are so enthusiastic, but at the same time I think there are always a few morons that hate everything and crap all over everything,” said Batista. “I think some of them just go to chant and boo and make fools of themselves and don’t even appreciate what the guys in the ring are doing.”

Batista was also quick to note that ECW used to always be known for extreme matches. Since his match against Big Show was contested under traditional rules, the Animal said he wasn’t surprised at the reaction he got.

“I knew I wouldn’t be welcomed with open arms, and I was cool with that,” said Batista. “A lot of times the ECW crowd thinks they’re going to intimidate people. Honestly, I’ve seen and done it all. There’s not a whole lot that intimidates me. So, I wasn’t about to take any crap.”

Batista is no stranger to getting booed. In fact, until the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 21 two years ago, the Animal was a member of Evolution and drew the ire of WWE fans everywhere he went.

“A boo is a boo. It’s all the same to me,” said the Animal. “The only difference is that a boo in ECW might come with something flying at you, which is cool with me.”

While the ECW fans proved that they still have an “against the establishment” mentality, Batista and Big Show also went against the grain of what is often seen inside the squared circle once the cameras stopped rolling. Just moments after being knocked outside the ring with the ECW Title, Batista got back in the ring and shook his opponent’s hand. On a normal night, the Animal would be unleashed and there would be hell to pay.

“The bottom line is that Big Show is a guy I respect very much. I respect what he’s done and what he’s doing for ECW. He’s stepping up,” said Batista. “He’s proven he’s one of the top guys in sports-entertainment. I just respect him for that. We had our differences in the ring, but I think Big Show has become one of the best in the world. For a man his size to do the things he does – he deserves nothing but respect, and that’s what the handshake was all about.”

Following the incident, many speculated that Batista and Big Show’s friendly gesture was done to just further instigate the raucous crowd. But Batista said that wasn’t the case at all.

“It was just about mutual respect. If you go back and watch the match, and look at us, the crowd didn’t really affect either one of us. We gave it everything we had. We had a good, competitive match. It didn’t have anything to do with forming an allegiance because the crowd was against us.”

It’s pretty clear that Batista happily accepted the fans’ strong opinions of himself, but that wouldn’t stop him from getting another dose of extreme.

“I’d go back to [ECW] in a heartbeat,” he said. “I’d go back next week.”

I could see Batista saying, looking directly into the camera, something about "Fuck this shit, I'm never coming back." Or something along those lines.

Candice Michelle is passable in the ring.

Plus hiring these chicks and seending them to OVW or DSW instead of putting them directly on Raw like Ashly was is good.

Plus that French bitch is hot.

How the fuck is it good when the girls have no prior experience wrestling, and hardly watch the shit themselves? While we are using the shit metaphor, you can't polish a turd...You can't train someone to "think" like a wrestler or be a wrestler in less than 2 months...just won't happen.

I'm not saying I want them to be hired to "wrestle" anymore then anyone else, dude.

I'm saying since Vince is going to hire them anyway, it's better they be sent to the developmentals before being brought up. At least that way they maybe have a chance of not sucking ass as bad.

Don't get me wrong though, they're most likely gonna suck real bad anyway.

WARPED! And an unfortunate piece of news I should mention...

Hey guys

Cant really type that much because, well...let me explain...

Todays Warped so I'm getting ready to go and I'm going to take abunch of pics and post them on WWE.com and its going to be great, my next blog is going to be sick...however...you will notice a small detail in these pics that will be left unexplained if I do not menton it. I have a pink cast on my right hand...

Yes...I broke my hand punching Kristals ridiculously hard noggin on Tues nights match. That or jammed it into the mat. Kinda unsure about when it happened but it was in the beginning and I finished out the match with my knuckle shattered and inside the middle of my right hand. The doc said one more degree over nd I wouldve needed surgery so thank god its only going to be casted for 4 weeks and hopefully we'll just be done with it.

One more thing to put up for auction on wwe.com I guess, although all these casts and theyre not goiong to be very valuable if theres so many floating around. Trying to make llight of a very aggravating situation. Anyway, obviously very hard to type so I am going to have someone help me out, but this morning I wanted to make sure you guys were the first to know what was going on and explain why you'll be seeing my hand casted in all my stuff from today and every day for 4 weeks.

I'll be fine. Speed bumps my friend speed bumps...annoying yes...will they stop me...no. Hell no.

ps

In the meantime go check out my blog at wwe.com

Love you guys

I guess they figure they found Trish with that tactic and haven't realised just about every single one since then has been a disaster.

The thing with Trish is that she was training to wrestle right after she signed, but she stayed as a manager/eye candy for a while and didn't get into actual competition until the summer of 2000 (the 6-person tag that opened Fully Loaded, for example), so by the time she went solo in that match against Stephanie in 2001, she knew what she was doing. Now, they just throw them in there without any real seasoning. Plus, they actually took women's wrestling somewhat seriously in Trish's heyday because there were some actual talented workers on the roster (Molly, Victoria, Jazz). Once they went, everything went down the tubes until Mickey James came along.

And you know what? The ones who want to improve and who does show signs of getting better gets fired. Think Christy Hemme and even Gail Kim (who was a disaster as the "femaley rey mysterio" wrestler she was trying to be in the beginning).

What messes with my head is they didn't think this Brooke chick was even worth killing crowds during the actual diva search and they still want to hire her.

Diary of Violence - 8/4/06

By Tommy Dreamer

August 4, 2006

For the first time in my life, I am speechless and forever grateful.

I can not believe that over four hundred thousand people voted for the Diary of Violence.

If you voted Yes or no, the fact that you cared is most impressive.

I can some up ECW in one word: Passion.

Passion for ECW is what drives me every day. Internet campaigns have helped ECW on more than one occasion. Whenever ECW would get kicked off TV, banned from a building or whatever obstacle came our way in ECW, our loyal fans helped make ECW continue. It is to you the fans of ECW that I make this pledge: I will continue to fight the fight, as long as you the fans never change from being the very rabid, vocal, hardcore maniacs that you are.

I am putting down all my thoughts from the past couple of censored weeks. I am going to very carefully put them together and next week I will have some very interesting things to say about my opinion of the current state of ECW. If people out there think that I am going to be edited or have a nice politically correct fluff piece next week, I say to you what I say to the person that got my Diary of Violence taken down in the first place: you can go ECF’NW yourself.

Ashely seems like a cool girl from what she posted in her blog.

BTW, wwe.com Heat this week has clips of SummerSlam's past matches with Orton/Taker, Orton/Benoit, Hogan/Michaels, and Hogan/Earthquake.

You know what, after watching Orton/Benoit, it's kinda sad how they fucked with Orton and gave him that title reign.

In CANADA, against the unbeatable Benoit, Benoit has Orton screaming and writhing in pain. Orton then pretty much no-sells the Crossface and out of nowhere hits a fluke RKO for the win, then has a look of "I WON?!?!?!?!" on his face as the crowd sits in shock.

Then he loses it a month later. I hate Orton's workrate and attempts at speech, but that was a shitty thing to do to him in case he ever improved. He's seen as a fluke winner and not a capable titleholder.

Yea, the woman is Susan St. James and I think she was the wife of the guy who ran NBC at the time. McMahon does his best to do a one man commentary job (I never did mind Vince on commentary that much unlike other people) but she REALLY messes up the Steele-Savage match.

How about this one:

During this week's live events, Tennessee Native JERRY THE KING LAWLER will host a Divas Body Challenge...

....AT AN ECW LIVE EVENT!

Love that continuity, Vince!

There's an article about that on wwe.com. Here it is

Taking Tennessee to the extreme

By Louie Dee

August 4, 2006

This weekend, fans in Jackson, Tennessee will get to see two things that are loved in western Tennessee: beautiful ECW Vixens in bikinis and hometown legend Jerry “The King” Lawler.

That’s right, I said Jerry “The King” Lawler. Never thought you’d see that in print? Well, believe it, because on Sunday night “The King” will be in Jackson hosting an Extreme Vixen Best Body Contest between Francine and Kelly Kelly.

Granted, everyone knows that “The King” loves the ladies (especially the WWE Divas, and apparently the ECW Vixens as well), and Jackson is only about 90 miles up Interstate 40 from Lawler’s hometown of Memphis. But even with those two factors accounted for, one would have to wonder why Lawler would grace the fans of what he calls “extremely crappy wrestling” with his presence?

“The most important reason is that I don’t want to see ECW invade and get a foothold in what I consider my home territory,” Lawler explained. “Everyone knows Memphis is my hometown, and for years Jackson was a regular stop on our Memphis circuit. It just rubs me the wrong way to see this ‘Extremely Crappy Wrestling’ come into my home area, and if it’s ever anywhere close by where I can do something about it, I will. I’m going to perform my own little invasion and show people the difference between Extremely Crappy Wrestling and Jerry “The King” Lawler.”

This won’t be the first time Lawler has shown up at an ECW event; many fans will remember that he even wrestled there, taking on Tommy Dreamer at Hardcore Heaven 1997. The ECW fans in Florida showed him no mercy that night, but this time, the proximity to home makes “The King” believe the response will be different.

“I think that the fans there have known me for many years, and I feel that I’ll be the fan favorite there no matter what,” he confidently proclaimed. “I think they’ll know the difference between me and ‘Extremely Crappy Wrestling.’ They’ve sided with me for many years now, and I don’t think that will change just because this is a different brand.”

Lawler remains very critical of ECW, and he knows that the entire locker room wants to make an example of him; still, “The King” isn’t worried about going into enemy territory alone.

“When you look at ECW, there are guys that I’m very familiar with like Big Show or Kurt Angle,” he said. “Those guys I know from RAW. But when it comes to guys like Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, or Balls Mahoney, that’s a different story; that’s who I’m gunning for. I wouldn’t doubt that they’ll all get together and try to get rid of “The King” because none of them can do it by themselves.”

No matter what happens on Sunday, Lawler warns that this may not be the only time he gets extreme.

“Throughout history, Kings have always gone on crusades, and I may just take this on as my own royal crusade,” he affirmed. “To invade them at every opportunity, I may make that my own crusade and see if I can get rid of this ‘Extremely Crappy Wrestling’ for good. It’s been a thorn in my side and a blemish on sports-entertainment for a long time, and something needs to be done about it. I don’t want to tip my hand or anything, but I’m leaving that door wide open.”

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if Lawler has anything more to say about his ECW experience when RAW is live in his hometown of Memphis on Monday night.
