slimm44 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 Where did this rumor of Kevin Federline wrestling Cena on PPV come from? I've heard radio shows mention it, and just heard Leno say it. I'm sure ET, or some news show reported it....It's crazy talk!
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 WWE just lucked out because idiots will end up buying NYE thinking that Federline will wrestle there. Might want to get the word out a little clearer. Mainstream is conditioned to assume it's on PPV. Funny to see Leno mock Federline despite doing the same act in 1998.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 Maybe Leno knows something we dont know yet..like.. K-Fed gets added to the match at NYR.. Umaga and K-Fed vs Cena! lol
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 When did the Cena begin competing on both brands? I'm really confused about that. He's mainly on RAW. But, he goes over to Smackdown sometimes on random occasions. It's usually to promote a Smackdown PPV that he will appear in. Matt Hardy is being the bigger violator of the brand seperation now than anyone else. The "Smackdown loaned him to RAW" reason is stupid. They should trade him to RAW so he can Tag with Jeff and get it over with.

Just ship Carlito over with the pretense that Coach is worried that Raw isn't safe with Masters and Carlito in the back and sees money with the Hardyz and makes that logical switch. Carlito fits right in with the SD brand.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 They are(or were, in Hogan's case) big young boys with a interest in wrestling. I get that comparison if he's going that route. Leave it to TSM to nitpick a throwaway line that held no value by any stretch of the imagination. ...yeah your one to talk. I'm hoping Harry gets on WWE tv soon, I really want to see him work. Smackdown might be a good fit for him.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 Small idea to Mania card.......if they are adament about Hogan on the card, what about using him and Flair as a team of some sort against ???? Otherwise, I could certainly see Hogan v. Edge for some odd reason possibly booked. Or Hogan/Flair v. Rated RKO maybe?

Otherwise, I could certainly see Hogan v. Edge for some odd reason possibly booked. Or Hogan/Flair v. Rated RKO maybe? I can't see them putting their #1 heel against Hogan. Hogan has his list with TBS/Cena/Angle and Austin, for the $ only. I say he's likely just to induct someone in the HOF again and use that to put over WM3. I doubt Hogan would share the spotlight, especially with Flair.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 On TNA's VKM & their $1 million challenge to WWE: "I haven’t changed my tune on the ”$1M Challenge”. No, I don’t think the WWE should or ever will acknowledge it. It is a “publicity stunt” designed to get folks talking and to help draw ratings and sell PPVs. Will it? You tell me." This is also from JR's last update. A C.M. Punk vs. Gregory Helms match would be one I would like to see IF they both slowed down a notch and allowed me to absorb their contest. Matt Hardy underutilzed? That’s a very subjective question. I love Matt and wish him nothing but good health and success. Matt is another talent that would be well served to slow down his in ring style and continue to work hard on perfecting his verbal skills. You hear that Helms, Punk and Hardy? Learn to work like Batista and Lashley!
Slickster 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 Well, Matt can be hard to understand on the mic sometimes...
Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 Helms vs Punk would be a killer match, as long as it wasn't for the CW title. I don;t think you can knock Punk for his ringwork as he's working so quickly because he has to fit in a certain amount of things into the 3 minutes of ringtime he is allotted. Watch in OVW stuff or his ROH stuff and tell me he has to slow things down...
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 JR asking people to slow down their matches so he can absorb them comes off like an old guy who can't handle a match with a pulse without getting confused and asking for more applesauce. Pity too, because JR's not that old.
billdynamite 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 Unfortunately, JR is probably EVEN older than his saggy face suggests. the man doesn't know the difference between Nitro and Mercury, Matt and Jeff Hardy, and of the Spirit Squad, hell even fucking King Kong Bundy and Zach Gowen. the man is a waste of space. Atticus Chaos 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 http://rajah.com/base/node/6989 Last night, a friend informed him that WWE Magazine gave him an "award" for Shortest Tenure in their January 2007 issue. Jannetty was blindsided by this news and he thought that this was some sort of mistake. Jannetty then called some friends and they told him that this was true. However, he still thinks that this is all untrue and that the WWE Magazine made some sort of mistake. Jannetty wrote, "It's a bad mistake...it means a writer..AND an editor for WWE magazine missed this error...IT WILL GET FIXED!!" Jannetty found out about the news just before he was going to go to a christmas party Thursday night to see family and friends. However, he left the party early because he didn't know how to react when people would ask him about how his wrestling career was going. Some people thought that something was bothering him, but they didn't know what it was. However, one kid revealed what the problem was by saying, "my Daddy said you are upset cause you got fired in a magazine....." That comment seemed to floor him because he then left the house where the party was being held while he waited for people to leave. Furthermore, he thinks that people are getting him mixed up with another Marty, Marty "The Boogeyman" Wright. Wright was released about a week before Jannetty was, and it was partially due to not answering phone calls from management. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the reason Jannetty was released was because he had gone AWOL and was not answering phone calls as well. However, they really don't have anything to do with each other as these are separate situations. Jannetty's MySpace page is set to private. For people who aren't friends with him, here is his blog in its entirety: Friday, December 22, 2006 Unbelievable!! GAT?? or fate?? It's just Neverending!! Well, I close my eyes for a minute and...BAM!!!! Yes, I took 2 days off my myspace site..and, I come back to disaster...No doubt, timing is everything in life... Here we are, it's Christmas..I go home to Columbus Ga. to see my family the first time in a few years...earlier tonight, I was heading to an annual family Christmas party..first one I was able to attend in maybe 20 years...got to see family members well, just a few minutes before I arrive at the party, I get a phone call...I get told that WWE magazine has put it in their Jan. issue that I have won an award. Well, I just got told about winning the "Match Of the Decade" in Pro Wrestling Illustrated...so, I'm thinking it is gonna be about that... BUT NO!!! My friend tells me that it's for The Shortest Tenure in WWE history..that they are saying I was hired and fired in September of this year...Since I know that isn't true, I figure my friend got it wrong. But, As i tell my brother what was just told to me, he says.."yes, it was on your myspace too, several people mentioned it...I didnt want to tell you before the party so it wouldnt ruin your night"... So, now I'm left thinking, no way, WWE wouldnt make that mistake...Other wrestling websites reported that false info a while back..and said it was from WWE that they got that info...but, Since it isnt true..AND...the mix up on that was Marty Wright got fired at that time..other people WANTING it to be true, ran with it, but, WWE knows the real deal...this cant be true.. I made some calls, and..sure enough, a few other people saw it...well, do I need to tell you how I felt...it IS NOT TRUE!!,,but, no one has any reason to believe me right now given my past...I wouldnt believe me if I was you guys either...so, I now gotta deal with this bs... I walk into the cabin where the family gathering is and..family members I havent seen in over 20 years are hollaring at me...Some only came for the first time themselves in years because they heard I was gonna be there..."Marty, What Up Marty?! How they hell are ya dude, how are you big guy?..HOW IS THE WRESTLING GOING??"....do I need to tell you guys how my gut fell to the floor EVERY time someone asked that...and, I couldnt even muster up a half fake smile...it was obvious to everyone that something was up...but, what ?? they havent seen me in years, why was I acting like this?? was I a stuck up prick?? certainly would seem like it by the way I was acting...I knew they were gonna think that too..so, I tried very very hard to just get through this, just be with my family who I missed so much and was so happy to get this opportunity to be with them and during the most special time of the year...I think I almost had it under control..hiding the anger, confusion and disbelief..until...the kids came around..I love the kids..I love playing with them..I love wrestling around with them and talking about who is their favorite and what movs they like and what they want to see next...I love it...their excitement about it is priceless...well, they also just speak their mind...and one did..."my Daddy said you are upset cause you got fired in a magazine"...... I left the house and stood 100 feet behind the Cabin away from everybody and waited for the party to be over...so, of course now the family must really think I'm a stuck up pig...so..for you my family>> I'm sorry for my non participation last night. I love you all, i hope you will tell the others that this was the problem tonight...I cant belive that right there before Christmas, i gotta get hit with this crap...for those of you who heard but didnt want to say anything...It's not true..it's obviously the mistaken Marty Wright(Boogeyman) firing..Marty was heard to get fired..and..naturally it had to be Marty Jannetty..and, with further looking in to...the whole not returning a phone call..was something Marty Wright didnt do..from what I heard was because he didnt want to go to OVW and they wanted him to go their first before coming back on full tour.. It's a bad mistake...it means a writer..AND an editor for WWE magazine missed this error...IT WILL GET FIXED!!..but meanwhile..I gotta walk in shame..especially with a certain couple of jerk offs out there who are just happier than pigs in crap(and nearly as clean) to report this...I get to walk through the airports in NY where fans are the best, and really stay on top of their wrestling news..and hear from half a mile away.."Hey Marty Jannetty, Rockers..Hey we heard about you getting fired dude"...I get to explain this friggin story to family, friends and fans. 1 million times over...knowing more than half of them aint gonna believe it..hell, I'm wondering if I should my damn self...maybe I should just ignore it like a couple people have suggested, since I know whats in the works....but, how the hell do you do that..its my life that is out on public display..and right now, its being made a joke of...so... Believe what you will..time will tell...i will not hold it against my family, friends and fans for believing this..hell, it's coming from my OWN DAMN COMPANY ..WWE!! Only a friggin GAT life...thats all I know.. Merry Christmas to you all!!!

UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 The USA Network is not airing WWE Raw on Monday, February 12th, 2007 due to a dog show. Raw will air on the USA Network that Thursday, February 15th, from 8 to 10:05 PM, which means that the second hour is airing head-to-head with TNA Impact. The Sci-Fi Channel currently has a Star Trek: Enterprise marathon planned for February 12th from 7 to 11 PM, so it appears that Raw airing live on Sci-Fi that week won't be happening this time around. Enigma 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 Jesus, Jannetty is such a chump. He's had every chance to revitalize his career ever since his match with Kurt Angle and has just blown it time after time after time. Not much makes me crazy about wrestling these days, but I would have gone bananas for the originally scheduled Rockers vs McMahons match at Backlash.

billdynamite 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 I would like to get this off my chest... Everytime a WRESTLER says "sports entertainment" or "i'm the best sports entertainer in the world", it straight up offends the crap out of me. I can't stand that phrase and i'm amazed that the wrestlers, especially the old school guys, still use it instead of "wrestling" which in most cases would make more sense and sound more legit. If there's anything that exposes the business, its that. fans can look past Kane walking in the arena with a suit, a smile and a frappucino but saying on live television "sports entertainment" is another way of saying "this is a soap opera. we are actors." But i've never been a wrestler and nor would i ever want to be unless I wanted to die aged 40 or have a forehead like a cheese-grater. I think if i WAS in the business, if i was an old legend who had busted his ass night after night for over 20 years getting beaten and bloodied, and someone a few years later is telling you "you're not a wrestler anymore, you're an 'entertainer', you make movies." i'd punch them in the face. and so, even though i've been a WWF/E (s)mark for all my life (apart from watching Nitro on a friday night on TNT) the thing that makes me want to watch TNA instead is because they call themselves TNA WRESTLING, and they call it WRESTLING on screen. uhm... rant over. thank you for your time. JHawk 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 Sports entertainment is an unnecessary phrase. People watch sports to be entertained. It's entertainment by default.
Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 I don't mind the term "sports enytertainment" when it is used outside kayfabe, however using it in/on the programming is sort of giving fans a peek behind the curtain, admitting it isn't real on the show for crissakes. Why can't they be wrestlers on the show, and believe they are wrestlers on programming, however call themselves sports entertainers in the mainstream media? I mean Tom Hanks is an actor, but when he's playing a role in a movie he's the character. Everybody knows he acting the part, but it doesn't matter because when the camera's are roling he isn't the actor playing the part anymore, he is the part. I think deep down, vince McMahon is embarassed by wrestling, the wrestling fans and the wrestling business.
The Mountie 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 What chance is there of the British sweeping all the world titles on Smackdown next year? Ok, after your rant, I need to point out a few things to you. 1. The percentage of wrestlers who use the words "Sports Entertainment" are about 50/50. Some have come to terms with the WWE verison of pro wrestling and some wrestlers just flat out refuse to use that term. Just about every wrestler working with the WWE pretty much has to use that term so they can stay under the radar. 2. I'm in the wrestling buisness and I really, REALLY think I'm not going to die at 40 and I don't think my head is going to end up as a chessegrader and if it comes to the point where I'm working for the WWE in some kind of fashion and I'm making good enough money to support myself and my family, then your damn right I'm going to start using the term Sport Entertainer or sports entertainment if I have to.
