starvenger 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 I'm on the fence on this one because I felt the Pam/Jim/Karen thing fucked up the flow of what was otherwise a competent episode. Pam's sleep speech was weird and the Pam/Karen confrontation seemed forced. So, Jim tells Karen he still has feelings for Pam and they just.....work it out? Just like that? I think the implication is they just had a lot of sex. I don't think that there was sex. If a woman wants to talk to you, there's a good chance that they won't bring it up until you're in bed at night - because you can't get away at that point. My wife's pulled that on me a couple of times. So if Jim says that they talked for three straight nights, I'll believe it.
Dandy 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 Yeah, because in bed it is dark and you are laying side by side with minimal eye contact. That is a dangerous place to be when something is bothering your old lady. Especially if she waits until you are half asleep and starts asking questions. You should practice evacuation routes beforehand as if there were going to be a fire.
foleyfanforever88 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 No "SHUT UP, ANGELA!!!" love??? I laughed, but I thought it was way overdone. I laughed the hardest at Michael asking Ben Franklin if he was wearing a thong in the elevator. Ben: "I was actually never President." Michael (whispering): "Ya well, Ben Franklin was." Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 Some of you missed the point. Pam is clearly uncomfortable with Jim's relationship, so she's trying to force herself to be all buddy-buddy with him to cover it up.

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 Yea, the Jam scene was supposed to be really awkward and weird. Come on guys, Todd Packer!
C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 I wasn't feeling the Packman in this episode as much as I usually do.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 Not enough Packster in this one for me, seeing as how you hear "Packer" and "Strippers" you tend to let your mind run away with you.

Pegasus Kid 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2007 Dwight questioning 'Ben' was hilarious. "Are you near-sighted or farsighted?" "Both, actually, which is why I invented bifocals." "AAARRRRRRRRGH!" That was easily the best part of the episode. It totally caught me off guard at the very end. The Jim/Pam conversation in the lunch room was just odd. You could tell they were trying to go for awkward advice but it just didn't come off well. That was A LOT of steak for a George Foreman grill. That would have taken hours. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2007 I thought the funniest part was Ryan's reaction when he found out that was the same grill Michael cooked his foot on
Special K 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2007 This was one of the worst episodes of the Office I've seen. This, of course, makes it one of the better comedy episodes I've seen. Jam was really bad. I know it was supposed to be awkward, but it also wasn't funny. Basically, Dwight was funny. And Michael/Jan delivered in that painful "PLease stop, I don't want to watch this" vibe that the original had. Overall. This was one of the weakest espisodes, storyline, and comedy of the season. That's to say it was good. And this show is one of the bastions of excellence I watch after AD has gone off the air.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2007 Is everything "supposed to happen" on this show? Office fans seem to struggle with admitting a show wasn't good more then most TV show fanbases and I'm not just talking about on this board, all over the 'net whenever something gets questioned the common reply is "They meant to write that" or "You're supposed to believe them" or something like that. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 Yeah, this was definitely one of the weaker episodes in a while, but still had enough funny moments to hold my interest. I did find the segments with the stripper to be amusing. "Is she hot?" "Text back...'kind of."

Given that it's a mock "reality" show, then yes, everything is "supposed to happen". But since it's in reality scripted (although occasionally improvised), I suppose that they did, indeed, mean to write that. But that doesn't mean that the episode was necessarily good. Sure, it had it's moments, but so did The Single Guy. I agree with the Michael/Jan sentiment - it was a really exagerrated overreaction, even by Michael Scott standards. Todd Packer showed up, and all they did was have him mock Jim? It just wasn't worth the buildup the episode got.
