razazteca Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Looks like the ref is going to let the fights go the distance but then again he might stop Ortiz/Shamrock after 2 elbows again.
naiwf Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Jason McDonald def. Ed Herman via tap out at 2:40ish. At one point he had Ed in a triangle, a kimura AND busted him open with some elbows to the skull. Ed fought for as long as he could but eventually had to submit. That was awesome.
NoCalMike Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 LOL@ Ed "I think I'm the shit" Herman.
razazteca Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Maybe UFC should stay away from redheaded fighters....they tend to be all talk and no defense. Leben vs Herman needs to be a loser leaves town match.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 There's the MMA ref stoppage we all love.
naiwf Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 That was a quick stoppage, but 'The Exorcist' wasn't exactly worthy of continuing considering he wasn't doing anything but turtling up there.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Dude tapped? Granted, I was halfway paying attention, but it looked like he just had his arms in front of his face. Wait, replay, and I guess there was a tappage. Kinda, maybe. Sure, whatevs.
razazteca Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 There's the MMA ref stoppage we all love. It was boring who cares!
Mik Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I'm glad Herman lost, but Joe "The Athlete" Macdonald? That's the worst fighter nickname ever!
razazteca Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I'm glad Herman lost, but Joe "The Athlete" Macdonald? That's the worst fighter nickname ever! Joe "Ol" Macdonald Joe "Big Mac" Macdonald Joe "McNugget" Macdonald Joe "Happy Meal" Macdonald Joe "the Farmer" Macdonald
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Maybe Joe "That's Joe, Not Rob" MacDonald? I prefer fighters with unique and semi-crappy nicknames, than forty "Pitbulls" or whatevs.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 So the bell will ring a little before a quarter till the hour. I guess they can use the 15 extra minutes to recap the fights.
razazteca Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 So did Shamrock go out as a warrior?
Conspiracy_Victim Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 OK Tito you won. You don't need to be a bigger dick than usual. Ken was trying to end it like a man.
snuffbox Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 After some initial childishness from Tito, they ended the fued in a very classy manner.
RedJed Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Ortiz is such an immature piece of shit. Shamrock made it clear beforehand whatever the finish was, that he wanted to end the feud and respectfully go out and bury the hatchet with him in the aftermath. Ortiz pulls that shit and Shamrock STILL does it. Ortiz should learn alot from that but I doubt he will.
razazteca Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Dana White vs Tito Ortiz on PPV? WTF? Seriously WTF!

I can't believe this was the same guy who was a pretty good coach and seemed like a fairly considerate guy on TUF.
DrVenkman PhD Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I happened to flip over to Spike for a bit and it just happened to be the beginning of the Ortiz/Shamrock fight. Not to be one of those poster-types I hate (the ones that go into the WWE forum just to say "why do people watch WWE"), but I'm still lost on what the big deal about all that was. To each their own, I guess. The important thing is it's currently 5-0 for Detroit.
RedJed Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I thought Dana v. Tito already happened in some private sparring session. Guess not.
snuffbox Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Tito apologized for his actions immediately following the fight. Shammy retired.
MillenniumMan831 Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Gotta love Tito's panicked apology to Shamrock.
RedJed Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 That was classy by Ortiz, maybe he did learn after all. Shamrock to TNA?
Hawk 34 Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Glad to see Tito realize how stupid (as usual) he was acting on a national platform while Shamrock was being class and knew he needed to apolgize for it.
