TUF V: The Thread

My god, I started giggling when Wang started crying, and then I lost it when BJ was making fun of him. He fought an awful fight, and what's worse is that it was a fight he had a very good chance of winning

"I wasn't disappointed in myself..." Bullshit. Man, it was great to hear the countless screams by BJ Penn to go for the takedown only to see Wang eat another jab. I'd also like to say that the Butters analogy fit so well for Weems and I'm amazed some people voted that they believed Sims was telling the truth.

Wang show he stereotypical Asian by demonstrating wawlior spilit. And by being fucking stubborn. I'm convinced that all Chinese people (myself included of course) are born stubborn.

I'll believe that myth.

Is Pulver capable of trying to plant a red herring with Weems? I mean, there is NO WAY someone THAT bad can be selected for this show, right? I can throw better kicks than him....

And is it me or is Gabe the offical Sam Hoger of season 5? I find myself looking forward to having Corey wreck his shit, even as inexperienced as Corey is.

The more I look at it, the more Team Penn should take the final four matchups. Wiman, Lauzon and to a lesser extent Rudieger have been touted as favorites to take the whole thing and Maynard has a lot of hype behind him due to his wrestling credentials and training with the Xtreme Couture gym in Vegas. Who's Pulver got left?

In the space of four or five sentences, Jens completely pwned Gabe.

Gabe crying should get him into some good acting jobs. Like in gay porn. Fucking pussy.

Two fights next week? I'm down.

And Emerson was the best fighter out of Team Penn that lost, so it makes sense, whether or not Dana likes him.

What a bitch Gabe is. I actually thought he was going to make it.

I can't even imagine cutting 15 pounds in 18 hours. Yikes.

That was just embarassing to watch. If you just want to go on a TV show to get airtime, don't make it seem SO fucking obvious that you are doing it. Anyone who actually feels sorry for this dickhead deserves to be punched.

We did get a patented Dana White Profanity Laced Chewing-Out™ out of it, at least. Gabe may have fucked his MMA career over for a long time just for three or four weeks of TV time.

DeSouza making Noah cry was tremendous. He got grapple raped. Bitch got Graped. Turnin purple and er'ting.

Penns detachment from his team is great, specially in juxtaposition with Jens love for his. You get the feeling that Jens would take a bullet for his team, whereas Penn would move out of the way and then laugh hysterically when one of his team members gets shot instead.

And No Beef stole the show, for reals.

Oh yeah, the consistent stream of "Dudes" Gray was spouting off were tremendous.

Rudiger gets an A+ for his marketing of himself but fails miserably due to the fact that he just had Bitch branded across his forehead on national t.v and will forever be a joke among the fight community.

Having said that, the shot of him laying on his back with the one tear down his cheek with the....."Pick me up. Just pick me up and put me in." Like, fucking Oscar shit. Bravo.

That was the most bullshit I have seen in this show.. it was patently obvious that he was mugging for airtime from the moment that he was dissing Emerson all the time for no good reason. I would have loved to have a rank amateur like Corey (who has ten times the heart Gabe ever could) just utterly destroy him. But he pussied out, everyone on the show knows he pussied out and he got what was coming to him.

I don;t blame Dana at all for being pissed off and cursing every other word. You can bet someone involved in the fighter selection process got fired for that, unless of course it was all kayfabed. Gabe basically used all of them, and his MMA career is in the bottom of the septic tank, and it couldn;t happen to a nicer guy. Take nut on your face for the rest of your pathetic life, Gabriel.

Well... here is what Gabe had to say about it.

mma.tv

Hey everyone, sorry I havent been on here, but Ive been focusing on my training and less on the negative comments I see here.

I just want to say, please take what you see on TV with a grain of salt. Ive said it many times before and Ill say it again. REALITY TV is NOT Reality. I realize that Im painted as a less than stellar character, and it is causing a LOT of you to pass judgement. I saw the show as just that, a show. I wasnt looking at it as the UFC and I wasnt looking at it as anything more than a tool to ensure my face would be recognizable. Basically, a marketing tool.

I allowed my behaviour to be “over the top” and made sure my antics were always in the fore front. In retrospect, i would have done things very different, but it DID work. Im human and will make more mistakes in my life and I will be accountable for it. We all do STUPID things, I just had a camera on me when I did it.

From this point forward, Im going to let my future actions decide who I am. The past is just that and I will not allow it to define me. My dedication is to be the best fighter I can be, and that is where my focus is now. Im thankful that I have a great team that supports me 100%. I have Dan Henderson, Heath Sims, Sokoudjou, Shawn Tomkins, Mayhem Miller, Art Santore, Rani Yahya, Dave Gardner, Ryan Parsons and everyone at Team Quest supporting me, so I guess Im not THAT bad of a guy! LOL

To those that support me, Thank you. Im glad that you can see through the hype and still feel that Im worthy of your support. To those that pass judgement blindly. Im sorry that a TV show completes your reality. I hope that with my future endevours you might see a different side. To those that hate me regardless, well, you have more than enough ammunition now!LOL There are those that will hate you regardless of what you accomplish.

Im more than happy to talk to anyone in an adult fashion and explain my view point more in depth, so feel free to check out my website WWW.GABGODZILLA.COM and contact me through there. If you want to send a “Your a pussy, blah blah blah” note. The web admin just deletes them.

Bitch.

I loved his weak breathed "put me back in" pleas. It was win win for him. If BJ had done it then he could go back on like he was actually trying, and if not...well, great, he didn't want to cut the weight anyway.

Reminded me a lot of Melvin from the first Tough Enough

At least he admitted he was just in it for the marketing.

Of course, does he actually think Dana White will EVER let him fight in the UFC as long as he has any say in it. They'd look horrible, especially after the guy admits he just used it for publicity.

I think it was a dumb move on his part. Plus he looks like a douche. Funny acting with the 'put me back in...put me in."

Good show ;p

Noone's gonna get fired because Gabe didn't make weight. If they do, I hope that they don't sign anything because that's a wrongful dismissal suit waiting to happen.

The fact is that on ANY reality show, people are cast because of their personality and/or uniqueness, not just because they "really, really want to be there". That's why Rob and Amber have been in 4 different reality competitions. That's why you don't have devout Mormons on The Real World. That's why we had Sanjaya. And that's why you've got guys like Gabe Ruediger, Matt Hamill and Corey Hill on TUF.

Of course, the difference between Gabe and characters like Hamill, Corey and others is that even with the antics they still kept their eye on what was important - fighting. And part of that is making weight. But if you were in it just to get camera time... well good luck using that to your advantage fighting the Who Deys in the IFL or when Brock, Royce or even Gina Carrano are around in Elite K-XC. You'll be more of a nobody than those guys on the De La Hoya/Mayweather undercard.

I would think that it would be more of a balance between ability, desire and personality. Be able to fight, show the desire to get that contract, and do and say enough to stand out. Using that example, Corey is probably the most balanced. And I say that knowing that he's way the fuck out there. I agree with you, starvenger.

Nate Diaz might be a good fighter, but the personality he portrays makes me want to cave in his skull with a bat.

Then again with Weems on Team Pulver, who knows?

That statement Gabe made was hilarious to me. Of course everyone knew you there for face time, and you had NO intention of fighting anyone at any time, the least of which Corey Hill, who might have fucked you up and made you look weak. Why else, when you KNOW what you have to do to stay in condition and be ready for a fight, would you be consistently 20 lbs or more over fighting weight? Not making weight wasn't the main reason Dana was pissed, he was more pissed because he knows he and his brand got used. That in retrospect was why the show was edited to make him look like the biggest bitch on two feet.

"put me back in... put me back in".... for fuck's sakes if BJ told me to get up and go back in, I would have fucking crawled back in.. is it me or have the last two episodes been more of a waste of time than anything else? Not to even mention its showing how weak BJ's team is. They had better win at the least one out of the two fights next week, if not both.

I wonder when they are going going to bring up Lauzon's domination of Pulver. Hopefully they do next week... or it's a sham.

MASSHOLES REPRESENT~!

Lauzon just steamrolled through his opponent. And it looks like this second fight is going to go to Sudden Victory.

This definitely makes up for last week.

1) Don't fuck w/ Lauzon

2) Someone needs to explain to Corey what a "lose-lose" situation is. I don't think I've ever heard someone use that more incorrectly.

3) Emerson got jobbed. Corey didn't do ANYTHING. It shouldn't have even gone to sudden victory. Those leg kicks trumped anything Corey did.
