Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said. It appeared the actress was speeding, Lt. Mitch McCann said at an afternoon news conference. Officers at the scene found a "usable amount" of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine, McCann said. He declined to say where the drug was found other than to say Lohan was not carrying it. Lohan, who spent time at a rehabilitation center earlier this year, was driven in another car to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, McCann said. The two other people in her car were not hurt. Officers received a 911 call about the accident and arrested Lohan at the hospital for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, McCann said. She was released from custody because she was admitted to the hospital, police said. McCann declined to comment on Lohan's blood-alcohol level. He said the case will be presented to the District Attorney's Office where the actress could face more charges, including felonies. Her tentative arraignment date is Aug. 24. The crash was Lohan's third accident in about two years. In October 2005, Lohan and a passenger received minor injuries when her convertible hit a van in West Hollywood. Authorities said the van driver, who also received minor injuries, was at fault. Months earlier, Lohan collided with a minivan when she made a U-turn as the van, carrying paparazzi, followed her from a Los Angeles restaurant. A photographer was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon but prosecutors declined to charge him. That crash was credited with prompting Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to sign a law that set steep financial penalties for paparazzi who commit assaults while trying to obtain celebrity photos. Lohan publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik did not immediately return an e-mail requesting comment. Lohan said in January that she had checked into a rehabilitation center for substance abuse treatment. Her publicist confirmed in December that the actress was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Lohan told Allure magazine during an interview for its May issue that she decided to enter the secluded Wonderland Center at the suggestion of her therapist. "It's so weird that I went to rehab. I always said I would die before I went to rehab," Lohan told the publication. Lohan's latest movie, "Georgia Rule," is in theaters now. The actress' other screen credits include "Mean Girls," "Bobby," "A Prairie Home Companion" and "Freaky Friday." That's why you never drive on Memorial Day weekend.

She could have killed someone, or herself. I've driven on part of Sunset Blvd. before and it's kind of a twisty, narrow road. Certainly not something to drive while intoxicated or high.

She's not going to show the goods until she's in a Halle Berry situation where the nudity is a part of a role that can lead her to bigger things. I imagine we'll see quite a bit of cleavage and ass shots in the movie but I can't see her letting the twins out for air with such an obvious role.

You can only get so many DUI's, you can only get caught with coke so many times before SOMETHING has to be done.

I dont know how California law it, but here in MN, you get busted drinking and driving twice and you are pretty much seeing jail time and some serious public service time/drug court/etc. Plus the coke counts are felony charges, I believe. Hell, she is still awaiting arraignment on her PREVIOUS shit and then this happened. Ironically, she will be arraigned on all of her shit now on the same day, about a month from now. I hope she gets some serious time. Can't fucking stand her, even more than Paris. Did anyone hear the shit that someone apparently broke into her place and stole porno pictures of her or something too?

I just read this morning she had court for it on Aug. 24 in some capacity.....fuck, they found coke in her crashed car. I could understand them not being able to charge her on a DUI for that one perhaps, but fleeing the scene of an accident as well would be another charge for that one.

Already facing charges for driving under the influence (DUI) and misdemeanor hit and run in Beverly Hills, Lindsay racked up even more charges last night in Santa Monica, and is now facing big-time jail time. The maximum sentence she faced for the original DUI and hit and run charges was 6 months for each. Last night, Lindsay was charged with another DUI -- if convicted of both DUIs, she could face up to one year in jail. And the horror doesn't stop there! She was also charged with possession of cocaine, which is a felony and carries a maximum of three years in jail. La Lohan is accused of driving on a suspended license as well, which carries a maximum of one year in jail. Her frenemy Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days for the same offense. As far as the allegation of bringing cocaine into a correctional facility -- our sources tell us that this charge will most likely be dropped, because it is only enforced if someone transports drugs to an inmate in custody. La Lohan didn't willingly go to jail last night! Judges don't take kindly to arrestees whose crimes occur so close together -- so it's quite possible that the proverbial book will be thrown at her. In a worst case scenario, Lilo could face SIX YEARS in jail!
