Your Paragon of Virtue Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Dan Henderson would probably never be able to make 170 unless he seriously maimed himself. Why am I even discussing this? Razazteca is a poor man's Tang God. I hope Karo vs. Fitch ends up happening. While I don't want Diego to fight BJ, if it does happen I think they should move it to this card.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 I'm sure Dan is such a competitor that if he had to, he'd remove a kidney, a lung, and any other auxiliary organs to make 170. Besides, they can put 'em right back in after the fight.
Lord of The Curry Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 A LW fight in Gleison Tibeau vs Terry Etim has been confirmed for this card. Tibeau is 2-1 in UFC, 2-0 in LW competition whereas Etim has a perfect 10-0 record and is coming off a guillotine choke submission of Oklahoma wrestling prospect Matt Grice at UFC 70.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 It's back to being title vs. title.
Lei Tong Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Though Etim has some skill, Tibau is the goods and I expect him win decisively.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 Spike will be showing UFC 75 on a tape delay at 9pm.

Why must he fight at 170, let it be like boxing and let the champion pick the weight they fight at If Wright/Hopkins can call a fight at 170 and claim to be Light Heavyweight in boxing then I'm sure Henderson can claim anything he wants if he held belts from both Pride and UFC!
starvenger Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Why must he fight at 170, let it be like boxing and let the champion pick the weight they fight at If Wright/Hopkins can call a fight at 170 and claim to be Light Heavyweight in boxing then I'm sure Henderson can claim anything he wants if he held belts from both Pride and UFC! True, but the thing was that Hopkins/Wright wasn't for a title, and (pro) boxing weight classes have a much smaller range than MMA, except at Cruiserweight and Heavyweight levels. The other thing is - the Pride WW belt was contested at 183lbs, so wouldn't it make more sense to contest that at the Unified class of Middleweight?
Lord of The Curry Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 I think UFC is just going to sit back and hope that people forget that Henderson is also holding the 183 lb. belt. It's not like he's ever defended it or anything.
starvenger Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 I could see that - never mind that Henderson came into the Octagon with TWO Pride belts after the Rampage/Iceman fight. But yeah, I could totally see Dana try to pull some sort of WWE revisionist history with that one. And if he did, he'd be wise to tell Rogan to STFU about it, because you know Joe will yap nonstop about that.
Lord of The Curry Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 I'm not really sure what Rogan would rap about. How Henderson ended up losing to Kazuo Misaki after he won the belt?
starvenger Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 I'm not sure, but I do know that Rogan doesn't like to have dead air during the broadcasts. I'm sure he'll have something, whether we want to know or not.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Maybe he'll just talk about his hatred of Carlos Menstealia during dead spots.
starvenger Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 That, my friend, would be several degrees of awesomeness, just because there's so much hate there between Rogan and Holness.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 So this is tomorrow. And it will be awesome I think, if only for the main event. Rampage Crocop Alexander and Bisping are the picks I have, and Davis too I guess. For the three top billed fights I want the guy I think is going to lose to win though. After seeing Hendo at the weigh-in I'm more confident.
KingPK Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 (edited) I was going to order this today, but I couldn't find it on my cable guide because I completely forgot that it's on Spike. Guess the spread will be extra nice for the party tomorrow. Either that or just more booze. Edited September 8, 2007 by KingPK
Markme123 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 UFC 75 Results as I watch them: The place looks good: Spoilers: Great Fight: Davis over Taylor; R1 armbar Quick night again: Houston over Sakara - 1:01 R1 Pummeling Disapointment again: Kongo over Cro Cop - R3 Unanimous decision Liaudin over Torres - R1 Pummeling Bisping over Hamill - R3 Decision Rampage over Henderson - R5 Decision Bisping vs Hamill This is great! In between every fight, they've been hyping the Bisping fight more than the Title fight for the UK crowd... ...and now Hamill is coming out to "Born in the USA"! Bisping is coming out to "London Calling". This is great. -------------------------- Title fight is up next, and I'm torn. On the one hand, I love Rampage. I loved him in Pride and I loved that he beat Chuck. He's great for the UFC and I wouldn't mind him holding the belt forever. But I also like Hendo, cuz he just seems like a likeable, talented, overlooked guy (and he killed Silva's ass). It would be pretty cool to see him hold 3 belts at one time (I know the belts will be unified but still). Man... -------------------------- One final note: During the end of the show recap I thought I heard Joe Rogan mentioned that they now had an undisputed UFC LHW champion, but then referred to Pride LHW as a seperate title belt. I wonder if that was just a slip of the tongue or not. Please pay attention to the post fight banter between Rogan and Goldberg to see if I heard correctly.
KingPK Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 What a fight. Both fights have been really fun and fast paced so far.
Mik Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 I was afraid to come in this thread. I'm glad that the spoilers up there are in the spoiler text. That Marcus Davis fight was un-fucking-believable. I'm going to end up rewatching that one again. Taylor nailed that kick and Davis was legit KO'd for 15 seconds or so, but the mount pummeling to arm bar was very, very nice. Davis just keeps getting better, I think. And I think Houston Alexander is well on his way to being an MMA superstar. It's a shame he's so friggin' old. But that was another first class beatdown.
tpww7 Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Yeah so far the first two fights have been a homerun. If the top fights deliver this show will be incredible. Lets go Rampage.
tpww7 Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 And Cro Cop's UFC career can pretty much be declared dead now.
Diamonddust Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Coming out to "Born in the USA" during an event in England is just freaking awesome. As is coming out to "London Calling".
AboveAverage484 Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Bullshit. Now I hate Bisping even more. This was worse than Nog/Ricco, I feel bad for Hamill.
KingPK Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 (edited) How in the HELL did Bisping win that fight?! What were the other judges watching who didn't score it 30-27 or 29-28 Hamill? Mike did nothing but get in a few shots and avoid the takedowns (though Matt was getting him later in the fight). Bad decision. Edited September 9, 2007 by KingPK
AboveAverage484 Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Hamill cut him twice standing and had numerous takedowns. Bisping was active, but it seemed like only a small percentage of his shots were landing and he was terrified of throwing any leg techniques because of Hamill's wrestling skills. Fuck this farce.
Mik Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Well, Bisping definitely won the 3rd round, in my eyes. 2nd definitely was Hamill and I guess I need to rewatch the first round, but yeah... I think Hamill got jobbed a bit. And is Cro Cop officially finito now or what?
Nate Posted September 9, 2007 Author Report Posted September 9, 2007 man that had to be the worst decision the UFC judges have made Hamill owned Bisping up until the 3rd round, I'm playin the discrimination card right now
LaParkaMarka Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 That Hamill fight was ridiculous and almost made me turn it off. Bisping mouthing off after was pathetic as well, considering he spent half of the right running for his life.
Diamonddust Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Is it just me or does anyone else think Rampage could be quite marketable as a pro-wrestler if he wanted?
