What the hell happened to Marcus Cor Von?

What do you mean?

He hasn't been on tv in like 3 weeks.

Well, now that he's no showed, it can lead to two things:

1. He's quiting the company due to no push

2. He failed a wellness policy test, or knew he did and is currently in hiding.

We better not be getting any text messages from him anytime soon.

Actually Cor Von has been getting quite a push on ECW.

Nitro, Viscera, Punk, Miz and Boogey are getting pushes. Cor Von hasn't been relevant to the show since the originals/new breed thing died.

Still, he was being pushed.

When Monty signed there were people predicting he would only last 6 months before he flaked out and quit. Got to give it to him for almost lasting twice as long.

Honestly add Sandman and Balls to that list as well.

Sandman and Balls look good by proxy because Sabu was in the doghouse 3 months in and Axl Rotten no-showed the first event. (why did those guys have a problem drawing probably the best paychecks of their lives in the twilight of their careers?)

I doubt it will last, but I am shocked by the mini push Sandman is getting on Raw.

Wasn't Tazz supposed to destroy Benoit for the IC title the night he injured himself to kickstart a major push, or I am just remembering things wrong?

Yea, apparently, Tazz was supposed to beat Benoit for the IC title that night but was injured so they scrapped the idea and they did that angle afterwards where Benoit kicked a car door on Tazz's arm "injuring" him.

Tell Sandman to Fuck Sandman.

I'm pretty sure Raven has a few stories that start off like that.

Yeah, if Raven even remembers them and if he does, he more than likely won't tell you. Raven was kind of a jerk when I had a car ride with him. Actually I shouldn't say that, he wasn't in a very good mood that day so thats why he was kind of a jerk on the car ride to the show.

Here are the final numbers for Monday's Raw and there is no way to put a positive spin on them. It did a 3.4 cable rating, with a 5.5 share. The show did hours of 3.3 and 3.5. That is even with last week's number, which a lot of people tried to find potential reasons for being so low (The home run derby on ESPN, John Cena on Larry King). That show started with a 3.0 and went to a 3.7 in the second hour. This week, the first hour was higher but there wasn't much growth in hour two. It is the lowest back-to-back rating that WWE has done since October of 2004. There is definitely reason for concern up in Stamford

This pretty much puts to rest the idea that the reason Raw's rating last week was so low was because John Cena wasn't there. So either its because of their product being really stale/uninteresting or its a result of the steroid/benoit stuff. Probably a combo of both but Maybe they should push lashley and/or cena (who has to be wearing really thin on everyone, not just the internet crowd by now) even more...they might even get into the 2's. Might as well set some records.

It's the Benoit stuff. I know a lot of people, including myself, were turned off on the whole industry because of this whole disturbing ordeal. It's going to take time and a lot of changes to win the fans back.

I don't think low ratings are due to Cena/Lashley. In general, the shows have gone stale the last month or so. What are the hot programs right now? I'm hard pressed to even identify a current running program outside of that main event. The limo angle in retrospect was a disaster because they planned months of shows around it and they were forced to drop it.

Long term, they need to develop hot feuds. Short term, they could hot shot something by running a King of the Ring type tournament, or something that breaks away from the present format.

Instead of shitty battle royals they could have had a 8-man tournament for the title. 1st round on SD, then semi's and final at GAB. If it took the place of the Batista and Kane matches it would only be one more match on the card.

People just love G.W Bailey, J.K Simmons and Kyra Sedgwick in THE CLOSER on TNT from 9 pm to 10 pm followed by the new hit series HEARTLAND with Treat Williams.

What? If they are going to ignore the obvious reason, I'll pick my own reason as well.

its not just Raw's ratings that are in the toilet, i believe ECW and Smackdown have had lower ratings and i believe TNA has dropped the last couple weeks since their record ratings, so i think the Benoit Tragedy has effected things ratings wise

I do think that the benoit stuff has had an effect on all the shows but Im guessing the reason for smackdown being down also is related to the fact they got raped in the ass with the draft. And now edge is out with injury and will be out 4 months. They really are working with a skeleton crew, as well as ECW. Speaking of ECW, it just plain sucks. They put absolutely no effort into that show and its amazing to me it draws over a half a point...much less 1.3 or 1.4 it usually does.

Tna is tna..until they get out of the one building which screams "second rate promotion", and actually slow down the pace of their show, be more concistent with the rules/dusty finishes, and maybe get rid of Tenay and west, they will always be stuck in the mud.

Didn't you understand how the industry was before this happened?

That would be like if I stopped watching porn because a pornstar died when I knew all along how the business was.

Yeah, WWE has a myriad of problems at the moment and it goes beyond the Benoit tragedy hurting ratings. The limo angle was going to carry the company for the next few months, but now it is dropped and I can't really think of a way Vince can simply show up on TV again that will make sense (outside of the two Benoit related shows a few weeks ago).

Also, the draft did the exact thing it's not supposed to do: It made all the shows WORSE. They couldn't help it with ECW since Benoit was the guy they were going to build around, but there's no one who has any desire to see Johnny Nitro prancing around with a fraudulent world title. Edge was a fun heel on SD but the draft basically wrecked that brand and left him no one to feud with aside from the stale Batista and even staler Kane.

What does it say when 2 of the 3 champs right now got the belts because 1 guy killed his family and hung himself, and another guy got hurt screwing around with a Mardi Gras celebration?

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere in the wwe folder but figured it's relevant due to the benoit situation and the likely attention its going to get. You can bet the media will be all over this tomorrow more than likely.

"ANOTHER WRESTLER DROPS DEAD!"

pwi

Former ECW World Tag Team champion George "John Kronus" Caiazo was found dead this afternoon in his New Hampshire home. I don't have further details at this time. I've heard Kronus underwent a knee operation (possibly a knee replacement, which I heard a few months back he was going to have) last week

Just wondering here, since the WWF became the WWE, has a ring announcer ever called the WWE champion, the World Wrestling Entertainment champion when the wrestler came out? I know when it was the WWF title, 9 times out of 10, Finkel would say World Wrestling Federation Champion, as the champ was coming down the ramp. I ask this, because saying the "World Wrestling Entertainment" champion is just so tacky, I wonder if there is video out there of this somewhere.

something i've been thinking about, i think its fairly obvious WWE doesnt wanna end the brand split, and with the rash of injuries that seem to happen so often, i think its high time that WWE does some massive call ups from OVW and FCW, i'm not talking in terms of 10 or so people i am talking like 20-30 people, i know that sounds really wacky but something needs to happen because the rosters are very thin right now, anyway here's some people i would call up/bring back to the main roster i only follow the developmental territories via the net so this is just based on observation:

Send To Raw:

Daniel Rodman: he's worked a few Heat shows so he has a little exposure within WWE right now

Hart Foundation 2.0 (Nattie Neidhart, Teddy Hart, Harry Smith and TJ Wilson) WWE has been missing a major faction for years, i think Nattie could run the Women's Division and have Harry Smith chase the IC title and maybe the WWE title down the road, and have TJ and Teddy be the tag team of the faction

Justin "The Ox" LaRoche and Charles "The Hammer" Evans: i've seen a couple of thier matches online and i think they could be a dominant team and maybe go blow for blow with Cade and Murdoch

Send To ECW, probably the smallest Roster, they could benefit from a few people:

Colt Cabana: i've seen alot of his ROH work and he is very entertaining and a very solid wrestler, and a possible feud with Punk would be money and make alot of smark fans jizz with joy

Mike Mondo: yes we all remember him from the Spirit Squad, i say bring him back and shed that image and make him a Chris Masters-esuqe gimmick, he's built pretty muscular if you seen recent pics of him

Nick Nemeth: another former SS guy i think he could be a good face to possibly feud with someone like John Morrison or Kevin Thorn

Send to Smackdown:

Paul Burchill and Steve Lewington: now i know they are not a tag team, but maybe bring them in and Dave Taylor could be a mentor of sorts for them and they tear through the tag division

Cody Rhodes: right now i dont think he's quite ready for Raw just yet, not sure on his weight but maybe he could be the one that takes the Cruiserweight title from Chavo if Chavo is gonna be on his way out soon

Johnny Jeter: right now poor Kenny Dykstra is gonna be wondering in jobber status at this point and a Jeter/Kenny team would be very entertaining

thats all i can think of right now

- The tentative return date for Rey Mysterio Jr. is 7/24 in Fresno, CA.

- Vince McMahon has been intrigued by The Sandman, and will likely give him an undercard push.

- There is talk of continuing William Regal in a full-time commissioner/executive assistant type role.

- Apparently the push Santino Marella is over, and is said to be on the endangered list.

By the way Justin Laroche doesn't have a WWE deal....Evans does though.
