I'm pretty sure he did in ECW. Just don't know if they're going to refer to him as undefeated after getting DQ'd. Maybe they'll just play up that he hasn't been pinned or submitted.

Aside from the predicted hilarity of the Simmons/Maria/Santino date bit, this was pretty tedious tonight. As noted, Carlito vs. Kennedy sucked to high heaven. It's a very tough thing to pull off a heel vs. heel match and neither guy is good enough to do it. To have this work you have to do one of two things:

--The two heels both cheat outrageously and try to outcheat the other.

--One of the two drifts into a more face like character for that match.

They need to watch Michaels vs. Martel from SummerSlam 1992. An ideal heel/heel match.

Just, because I love all you guys, I got my Raw Report done, here you go.

August 21st, 2007 - Raw Report

First for my Pre-Raw Thoughts. Going into the show, I was expecting the Vince McMahon illigitimate child angle to be the top story. However, we would see a lot more John Cena and Randy Orton developing a story more than they have in the past few weeks. A lot of Triple H hype. Along with Ron Simmons delivery his "AM" word(s) of the week.

-We are coming from North Carolina this week.

-Jim Ross and Tazz, filling in for an "injured" Jerry Lawler, doing commentary.

-Opening Segment: Randy Orton is in the ring right off the bat. Tazz makes us wish Jerry Lawlere was there already, as he almost says, the Road to WrestleMania, instead of SummerSlam.

Randy Orton talks about RKOing John Cena on the chair during Saturday Night's Main Event. Told you the show was good. Orton wants to see the RKO from different angles and in slow motion. We get a bunch of different angles, but no slow motion, eh, Orton seems content with it. He claims that picture will replace Hulk Hogan body slamming Andre The Giant, the Austin 3:16 Speech and The Montreal Sprew Job, yes, Sprew Job.

Orton claims Cena is not there, and if he is there to come out and forfeit the Title.

-We get Vince McMahon, who is doing his walk. Can you blame him for that walk, it must be from all of the booty he is getting. He talks about his illgitimate child. Which sparks a "Who's Your Baby?" chant.

-We learn that the child is a male. His son is obviously not Randy Orton, because Vince knows Randy's father to well, but if it was him, Vince would be proud to have him as a son.

-Vince wants a son who is not all about the MONAY. He wants his son to be welcomed with opened arms, by all. With that, he is mad that instead of Vince receiving opened arms during the rough time he is going through, the fans are relishing in his pain.

-He wants a son, who is not like John Cena. So you know what that means, Cena is here. Vince wants him to come to the ring.

-Why do people cheer when Cena's song starts and then start booing big time during the second part of his song?

-Cena and Vince start yelling at each, Steve Austin like if you may, Cena 3:16? Cena lets him know that, not only is he here tonight, but he is going to retain the Title on Sunday.

Vince informs Cena, that if he is not there on Sunday, he will not only forfeit the match, but also the Title. Who said he would not be there? Is there any reason he would not be there? Let's leave that one alone, I think Vince came up with that line on his own, and never realized it made no sense.

Speaking of stripping, Vince knows Cena's mother likes to strip, WOAH. That is personal. He then claims that he might have done Cena's mom, which procedes to get him clobbered, which was well deserved.

When Cena yells into the mic, it always looks like he is not really talking.

-Cena Vs. Snitsky, tonight. Oh, great. I guess this segment was not bad enough. We have that to look forward to.

-Not a good opening segment due to the lack of direction it was going in.

-Rey Mysterio video pumping his return on Sunday at SummerSlam.

Candice Michelle and Mickie James Vs. Melina and Beth Phoenix: When girls who look like each other collide.More stupid comments from Tazz. Beth Phoenix dressed as Mighty Molly Holly. We get a William Regal appearance. He let's us know that English people are sexually regressed and there is going to be a Divas Number One Contender For The Women's Title Battle Royale at SummerSlam. Mickie James and Beth Phoenix start. Phoenix basically carries this part of the match, using effective moves, such as, sling shots and supeplexes. Candice Michelle has gotten much better in the ring, and is able to connect on a couple of clotheslines. Melina is into the match, and Candice works on her for a short time, prior to getting a unique pin fall. Mickie kicks Candice after the match. That leads to all the divasin the match going after one another. Beth Phoenix is the lone survivor. At least it was quick, 3/4*.

Umaga on Carlito's Cabana tonight.

-John Cena Vs. Snitsky, do they want to lose viewers?

-WWE Rewind: Santino Morella singing to Maria, and Ron Simmons hitting him, from WWE Idol, DAMN.

Santino Morella is heated about the date with Maria and Ron Simmons tonight. Then he rips on William Regal's accent, ironic, huh? Regal will not let Santino interupt the date.

-Bookah dressed like a king goes off and calls Triple H, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, which is better than awesome. He claims Triple H is in the house, and that they will both kick off the SummerSlam Games. Good stuff.

-Vince and The Coach are talking, and Vince is scarred from Cena's punch. He says that he is a lot happier having his illigitimate child being a son, rather than a daughter. They question if it is Triple H. Val Venis in the house, hello daddy, funny. Vince says no way Val is his son. The Chairman is mad at Shane for Austin pouring beer on him, having his head shaved and other events. None of those would happen, if Vince's other son had helped.

-Paul London shows up, dressed and acting like Alladin. Vince is heated and says, no way London is his son. This is followed by Ken Kennedy showing up and Vince describes Kennedy's character, leading to the thought that the obvious person to be Vince's son, is Kennedy, but only time will tell if WWE goes with that storyline.

-They remind us, Cena Vs. Snitsky, incase we forgot.

-Shelton Benjamin Vs. Cody Rhodes: My boy and according to Lillian Garcia, North Carolina's own, Code Rhodes. Cody misses the drop kick, the push is over. Both men combined on a nice series of roll ups, and the crowd is rooting for the hometown Rhodes. This match moved at a lot slower pace than I was expecting. Rhodes connects on a few drop kicks, everyone is happy again. Bulldog headlock, but Benjamin delivers an atomic back breaker, I love that move. Rhodes is able to counter a move by Benjamin and gets a roll for the three count. World's Greatest Tag Team beats up Rhodes after the match. Decent match though, **.

-SummerSlam promo, Cena Vs. Orton, incase you forgot.

-I love that new U.S. Open commercial.

-They talk about the SummerSlam theme song and Tazz delivers bad comments, I am sick of him really digging things.

-Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch Vs. Paul London and Brain Kendrik: Paul London and Brian Kendrik rocking the Alladin outfits. An amazing height difference in this match. Lance Cade and Kendrik start things off. Kendrik is flying so far in this match, nice fast pace, good stuff. Paul London is in. Jim Ross makes a comparison of London and Kendrik to the Rock 'N Roll Express, come on J.R. He gives a schill for WWE 24-7, though. London and Kendrik are carrying the match, I want a Title change. Hendrik hitting on all cylinders, but the WWE does not care. Here comes Cryme Tyme. They are selling Murdoch's hat. $50 is too high, $40? Kendrik rolls up Murdoch for the pin, nice. Good match minus Cryme Tyme, **1/2. 2 dollars!!! Money, money, yeah, yeah.

Bookah and Sharmell on the way to the ring. Triple H or no Triple H?

-Ron Simmons and Maria, they are at a Sports Bar and Grille, nice place. Simmons delivers a CLAM, LAMB and SAM. Santino arrives with Jillian, isn't that Beth Phoenix? YAM.

King Bookah comes to the ring, and and he gives a Jerome mention. The crowd starts a Triple H chant, I am convinced at this point he is showing up. He keeps talking about Jeromes. SummerSlam Games and Hunter Hearst Hemsley, haha. We look back to last week with Jerry Lawler and Booker T. He calls out Triple H. The music starts, and a guy dressed as Triple H arrives. This is very 1997 of Booker. This guy is making me uncomfortable. He puts the crown on King Booker and his royal dome. King Bookah goes out of the ring and says James Ross, that drew a laugh out of money. Booker yells at him for what he said last week. Bookers asks, no orders Jim Ross to kiss his ring. He calls J.R. Jim, and then quickly corrects himself. Sharmell pushes J.R. into Booker's ring and he kisses it. Ross is disgusted. Ridiculous segment. Some guy in the crowd, in his military uniform, starts yelling at Booker, crazy.

-They show the graphic for Cena Vs. Snitsky, but with no talking, funny.

-This Raw is taking forever.

-Jilliams sings for Ron Simmons and Maria's date, Santino even said she was awful. The waitor asks Santino for his autograph, and he reads something about Santino's buldging genitals. Santino states a couples of words that expresses his love for Maria, and Ron Simmons delivers a, SHAM.

-Umaga on Carlito's Cabana. Carlito tells Umaga to have a cocktail. He wants an Intercontinetal Title Match at SummerSlam. Here come Kennedy. Kennedy is saying that, unlike Umaga, Kennedy has destroyed Bobby Lashley. Therefore, Kennedy is claiming that he deserves an Intercontinental Title shot at SummerSlam. Midway through Kennedy's name thing, Umaga clobbers him. Umaga then goes crazy, and destroys the Cabana, I somewhat enjoyed that. William Regal is here. He looks scared, and I cannot blame him. He sets up a Kennedy Vs. Carlito Number 1 Contender's For The Intercontinental Title Match next. Since when did the Intercontinental Title become important again. Then again, it is six days before SummerSlam, and there is not Title Match yet, so maybe it is not important again. Some story development at least.

Number 1 Contenders Match: Carlito Vs. Ken Kennedy: This match thus far is an ugly brawl. Neither guy is selling anything at the begging. Carlito finally delivers some offense, however, he goes back to the punches. A backdrop by Ken Kennedy is the first good move of the match. Jim Ross mentions that he wants to go to the Bada Bing. This is a case where the storyline is better than the match. Kennedy just sent Carlito out of the ring and he nearly hit the ring post hard. Kennedy beating up Carlito on the outside. We will go to to a commercial break, no, there is more, I cannot take it anymore, honestly. Did the match end during the break? No, darn it. They are back on the inside and Kennedy is punching Carlito. He is able to fight back, and the crowd is alive. They are now moving in slow motion. A supeplex by Carlito. Kennedy rolls him up, but both men's shoulder are down on the mat, and there is a three count, it is a draw, and the crowd is booing. William Regal comes to solve everything. Triple Threat Match at SummerSlam? Yup.

Cena Vs. Snitsky tonight, enough.

Back to the date. Santino is ripping on Ron Simmons, and SAM the waitor has to get the check, but Simmons threw him onto Santino, DAMN.

SummerSlam card run down.

John Morrison Vs. CM Punk, show stopper? Come on Tazz.

Vince McMahon and Melina talk, and it got weird a minute, until The Coach with the Divas Magaizine. Melina and Vince both use their Super Soakers. Snitsky arrives, and he does not know his parents, but he tells Vince that he will hurt Cenalike Cena did to Vince, when he hit him. This is followed by Snitsky calling Vince, dad.

Snitsky Vs. John Cena: When John Cena's music plays, why do people... nevermind. Snitsky with the early beat down. Cena fights back with punches, but Snitsky kicks him. Jim Ross wants Cena to mail one in. He is beating Cena up, but Cena blocks and punches him. Snitsky regain the momentum, and he puts in a headlock. However, Cena fights back again. So far this has been predictable. Cena with a running lariat. He goes for the F.U., but Randy Orton comes in. Orton hits him with an RKO. Orton stares down Cena, and the show is over. See you Sunday.

Bottom Line: Long, gruling Raw. Not a good show. Maybe SummerSlam can make up for it.

So, Orton has been killing Cena the past couple of weeks...

...Does that mean he's not going to win at SS? :(

I'm pretty sure he did in ECW. Just don't know if they're going to refer to him as undefeated after getting DQ'd. Maybe they'll just play up that he hasn't been pinned or submitted.

Taz referred to Snitsky as the "unpinned Snitsky" at one point on RAW, so they are really bringing too much attention to his previous DQ losses.

I'm guessing their purposely forgetting about his pre-ECW days.

That wasn't his fault.

I hate to say it, but I think "DAMN!" may be close to jumping the shark. The rhymes felt WAY too forced last night. If they want to save the "integrity," so to speak, of the gimmick (which they should do, since it's been a great little part of RAW for months and months now), they need to back off of it a bit.

I think Simmons should start cutting some actual promos. He can keep the DAMN phrase as well but the guy hasn't exactly been this monosyllabic in the past. Or maybe do a tease of DAMN from time to time to keep people off guard. I thought when he saw Haas and Benjamin hugging in the back he should have looked at them, thought about saying it, but then just walk away shaking his head.

Like the Lil Jon skit on the Dave Chapelle show?

Paul London shows up, dressed and acting like Alladin

Hm, the only person with the evil doer arab gimmick is Davari.

Did Cena sell the RKO on the chair at all?

Not that I noticed. He kinda rubbed his head after Snitsky was announced as the opponent, that count?

Shame really. One of the best looking visuals in weeks/months and it now means nought. And it made Vince and Orton look incredibly dumb over the whole 'Cena not making it to Summerslam' semi-tease. Thanks John! Good luck Sunday (not that you need it of course!).

And if they do take the belt off Cena, it was the perfect 'out' for him to lose the title and not look weak. They could have teased him not showing up and then he does but he's got a neck brace on because of what happened, and then end the show with Orton RKO'ing Cena in the neck brace. That would have been a much better visual.

The tag match with Londrick was good, and Marella/Simmons continues to be fun, but everything else sucked.

I've only been paying attention to where the show's have been airing from for a few months, but it seems the Carolinas really go for who the bookers tell them to go for. I couldn't hear any real booing for Cena at all, which sucks, because I like him acting the good guy and getting shat on because of it.

Btw, did no one here the fan shout "Hey you nigger!" at Booker, right after he shoved JR back into his chair? You guys seem to pick up on everything.
