USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Now West is set, I'll make my picks- Boston in 5, Detroit in 5, Orlando in 6, and Washington in 7 Los Angeles in 6, Dallas in 7, San Antonio in 6, and Utah in 7.
Damaramu Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 I'll go: Boston in 4, Detroit in 5, Orlando in 5, Washington in 7 Los Angeles in 5, New Orleans in 7, San Antonio in 7, Utah in 7 Ugh, I wish the first round was still best of 5.
Guest Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Boston in 4, Detroit in 5, Orlando in 7, Washington in 6 Lakers in 5, Dallas in 7, San Antonio in 6, Utah in 7 Love, love, love having the #1 seed. Denver should be cake, given how the Lakers have torn their defense to shreds this season. If Bynum comes back by the second round, the Lakers will roll to the Finals. Might even do it anyway, if we get Ariza back. I'm just glad that the 4-5 matchup doesn't have San Antonio or Phoenix involved.
naiwf Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Boston in 5 Cleveland in 6, though I hope otherwise because I hate LeBron Orlando in 6 Detroit in 5 LA in 5 Utah in 7 San Antonio in 6, and I have a feeling Shaq picks up at least a few technical fouls if not a flagrant "to send a message" New Orleans in 6
teke184 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 East- Celtics in 4 Pistons in 6 Magic in 5 Wizards in 6 West- Lakers in 5 Hornets in 6 Suns in 6 Jazz in 6
Rendclaw Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Boston in 4 Cleveland in 7 Orlando in 6 Detroit in 5 Lakers in 6 Utah in 6 San Antonio in 7 New Orleans in 5
MFer Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 East: Celtics in 4 Pistons in 5 Magic in 7 Wizards in 6 (if this series goes 7, I think Gilbert chokes it away) West: Lakers in 6 Hornets in 7 Spurs in 7 Jazz in 6
alfdogg Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 Added the schedule into the original post. If you have NBATV, you may even be able to watch the Orlando/Toronto series! I'll have my predictions tommorrow.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Edited picks from the other thread (now including the West): East Picks: Celtics in 5. Pistons in 4. Raptors in 6. Cavs in 7. West Picks: Lakers in 5. Mavericks in 6. Suns in 6. Jazz in 7. Yes, I said Raptors in 6. It's partly bias and partly the fact that I believe Toronto could actually take the series. It all depends on Kapono, Bargnani and Delfino. If the Raptors 3 point game is on, they can use their shooters as screens and open up the floor for Bosh, Ford and Calderon. The Magic have no one who can keep Ford from driving the lane or who can contain Calderon as a shooter and Bosh always plays very well against Howard for whatever reason. I think this is a very winnable series and I was really hoping that Raptors would get the Magic and not the LeBron's. Also, I don't see the playoff-rookie Hornets team getting by the very-hungry and very desperate Mavs. Not with Nowitzki at his best like he has been and Kidd finally picking up his game. It could go either way though.
CanadianChris Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 East: Celtics in 4 Pistons in 5 Magic in 6 Cavaliers in 6 West: Lakers in 5 Mavericks in 6 Suns in 6 Jazz in 6 My Finals pick:
jwpeer Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 East: Celtics in 4 Pistons in 7 (People underestimating Andre Miller...) Raptors in 6 Cavs in 5 (Lebron has another level during the playoffs, people forget last year too quickly) West: Lakers in 4 (Denver has no chance) Mavs in 6 (Poor New Orleans...they only have two bad matchups, and they drew one of them) Suns in 5 (Worst matchup for San Antonio by far) Jazz in 5 I do know that the Western Conference playoffs will be awesome to watch.
bobobrazil1984 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Mmm, playoffs, tasty East Boston in 4 Cleveland in 6 Orlando in 6 Detroit in 5 West Lakers over Denver in 6 Utah over Houston in 6 San Antonio over Phoenix in 7 New Orleans in 6 The best match is SA vs Phoenix, these were two of my possible Finals picks and they are right there in the 1st round, damn wild wild west.
chaosrage Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Celtics in 4 Pistons in 4 Magic in 6 Wizards in 7 Lakers in 6 Hornets in 7 Suns in 5 Rockets in 7 (Hey, they have to make it out of the first round some time)
alfdogg Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 Boston in 4 Cleveland in 6 - Cleveland really has been lucky here the last two years. If the players are allowed to decide this series, then I still think Washington has the better team here. But, fat chance of that happening with LeBron James. Magic in 6 - Surprised to see so many people picking them, I figured this would be a sexy upset pick for a lot of people. Pistons in 5 Lakers in 5 Utah in 6 San Antonio in 6 New Orleans in 7
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Gilbert Arenas called out the Cavs, so the Wizards better win.
Damaramu Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Gilbert Arenas called out the Cavs, so the Wizards better win. He's running his mouth still?

PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Gilbert Arenas called out the Cavs, so the Wizards better win. He's running his mouth still? I hope he never stops. DeShawn told Caron that he’ll guard LeBron (sounds like a children’s nursery school rhyme) so that Caron can rest his legs. DeShawn was like, “I’ll run him around and play D on him and get the fouls so you can just go off on the other end.” So we have our own little gimmicks we’re brewing. With a team like the Cavaliers and a player like LeBron, all you need is distractions. We got to be Bush. We got to be Bush-league. We’re having everybody talking about the war, when we just want to get the oil. We’re Bushing it. That’s all we’re doing. We’re trying distract LeBron over here while we try to get some wins over there. That’s all we’re doing.
Guest Teal-y Dan Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Bulls gave Boylan the boot this morning. Link Good. That clown was horrible. What a complete waste of a basketball season this was. Let's allow Ben Wallace to suspend people. Fuck you, Jim Boylan, you're a retard.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 That's not all. Isiah Thomas was informed he wouldn't be returning next season as coach of the Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks also sacked their coach, whoever it was.
Guest Teal-y Dan Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Larry Krystowiak. He just came in midway last season. I don't know what he was expected to do. The Bucks are bad.

alfdogg Posted April 18, 2008 Author Report Posted April 18, 2008 There was an column in the Salt Lake Tribune today implying that the Jazz tanked last night's game in order to get the Rockets in the first round instead of the Spurs.
Rendclaw Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Like teams in the NBA haven't done that before.

Really? I can't find it anywhere. And it was more of a case of Deron Williams having a nagging injury and SA just kicking the living crap out of them, why try hard when the Spurs are up on you by 25 at halftime?

Danville_Wrestling Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 There was an column in the Salt Lake Tribune today implying that the Jazz tanked last night's game in order to get the Rockets in the first round instead of the Spurs. Eh, I could care less either way. We haven't beaten the Spurs in San Antonio since '99 and I preferred not to play them in round one anyway. On another note, I'll root for Denver to take out LA but I'm not going to be delusional like Skip Bayless and say that they'll win that series.
