Brett Favre

All-Time NBA Roster Draft

Recommended Posts

I was wondering how long he was gonna stay on the board...

EDIT: Or Sam Jones for that matter, too.

Another good pick... You might've had a great team had you took this thing seriously from the start.

Anyway, I'm in need of a swingman and someone who can start for me at small forward, originally I wanted Billy Cunningham and Alex English... Both were taken before the got to me, so my Plan C was...

Paul-Pierce-34_112609.jpg

Paul Pierce, SG/SF

PPG - 23.1

APG - 3.9

RPG - 6.4

3-time All-NBA Third Team: 2002, 2003, 2008

6-time NBA All-Star: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008

NBA All-Rookie First Team: 1999

NBA regular-season leader, total points: 2002 (2144)

NBA regular-season leader, free throws made: 2003 (604)

Bostons best player since the Larry Bird dynasty. Explosive scorer and good all around player... Is able to work with players who are at an all-star level like him, as proven by this season. He fits perfectly with my team, and although there where others whom I wanted before him, I'm not at all dissapointed to be able to pick him.

And for my next draft pick...

Chuck Daly, Coach...

Wanted him along... He is one of the best basketball coaches ever, and already has a great relationship with the player who is guiding my team (Isiah Thomas).

I just wanted to say, there is one currently active player that I'm quite surprised hasn't been taken yet.

Ditto. If this was last year, he would've been gone by round 3.

Actually, I think I know who you're thinking of here, and if I'm right, then we have different guys in mind.

How dare you spit in the face of Dino Radja like this.

I KNOW one of the guys you're all referring to, but the other? You got me.

Damn EHME for taking Daly. I should've grabbed him instead of Wilkins. Ah well.

Argh! Another one of my guys gone. He was my favorite player in the mid-90's and the only guy to be more popular Jordan (according to some survey in 1996 - Jordan had never lost since they started it until Penny finished ahead of him) in the mid-90's.

I must have just sat here for an hour agonizing over this one, but eventually I settled on

.472 FG%, .402 3PT%, all-time leader in free throw % with .904

4x All-Star

4x All-NBA (1st team in 1993)

Nah, this is around the time I figured alot of coaches would start going, get your starting 5, a 6th man and then your coach. Then fill in the rest of your team with solid guys that fit your coaches system.

I just figure, there's so many good-great coaches to choose from, why burn an early pick on one when there's still going to be a ton to choose from later. We're picking like 200 players, and only 19 coaches.

Yeah but at the end if you are building a team to fit a certain style and get a coach with a different one that can hurt you in the end voting. Also like Czech said, "My coach can make my guys look better." So a pick after you have a coach can make more sense in his system or if he lacks in someway your coach choice could balance it out.

That's true, just a difference in approach I guess. I'm drafting a team with a certain style of play in mind, and I'll pick a coach who I feel can match that style later on. I'm also making a point to take unselfish, self-motivated, like-minded players without any glaring character issues, so I don't feel like I need a guy to manage personalities or reign anyone in. I think my team so far could pretty much coach itself on the floor.

There's one coach I wanted (Popovich) but with him gone, I'm thinking along the same lines as you. I'd rather get guys who can adjust to nay system than find the ideal coach for them, then to grab a coach and to try and find guys to fit his system.

I decided to look for a 6th man who could provide me with some instant offense, so I'll go with the guy with the most points scored that hasn't been drafted yet.

I think it's awesome I almost took him in the 3rd and got him in the 6th. I don't think Bernard would have fallen to me here though, so I made a good choice.
