So, my son is out here visiting with me for the month; I got him Mega Man Collection back in June, and he brought it out here to play because we're both big into Mega Man. Anyway, so I was flipping through that old thread in the Video Games forum when I noticed that Max King's (in his alter ego of ChrisMWaters) name is all over it... So, that's when I decided that I really like this guy; I mean, he's a Mega Man junkie, and he loves MOLLY~! What's not to like? (Y) - Dub "writes 'put Max King over when I return' on his to-do list" Cee

Don't be so hard on yourself, Thoth. After all, you've done worse... much worse...
-
Candace, I wouldn't worry too much about what it's called; as long as you can describe it well enough for the other writers to write it, call it whatever the hell you want. And, if you "need" a technical name for it, just ask Dace; he be the move smark.

There's something about the notion of Jay Dawg being the one constant in the SWF that is totally fitting and totally wrong at the same time...

Lockdown.
-
Entirely plausible, even though it defies logic that a promotion like that would manage to last this long...

Did Jazz quit and/or get fired? I'm watching WEW (Women's Extreme Wrestling) on Fox Sports Atlantic (Digital), and she's wrestling on this show. As bad as you might think that the women in WWE are, you haven't seen bad until you see this...

Centrist, 50/70. No surprise.

That so? Horning in on my racket, eh Mark? It's not enough that you have to be the oldest?

SWF Sunday Night Frost
Mr. S£im Citrus replied to Mr. S£im Citrus's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Eek! I swear to God, Mark, I read the show twice, and I somehow managed to completely fail to notice that promo both times! I guess that'll teach me not to try to read a lot of words when I'm tired... -
Isn't it funny how Atlas showed up, started no-selling everybody's best stuff, and then split? - Dub "and by funny, I mean not really" Cee

The “Yeah, I know it’s late; sue me” edition! ========== SWF Sunday Night Frost and HOLT report August 1, 2004 Dallas, Texas at American Airlines Center Report by Joshuaa Strong of Dallas, TX Smartmarks.com reader Frost: - David Cross pinned Chance Silver in 1:31 with the Black Mass. - The opening video package showcased the history of the Mall Brawl, focusing heavily on highlights from Mall Brawl IV. Afterwards, Kevin Cole conducted an interview with Austin Sly. Sly claimed that He was going to use a victory in the Mall Brawl to propel himself back into the title hunt. When asked about the mystery opponent, he said that it didn’t matter who it was, whether it was Cutthroat or HVT, and that nothing was going to stand between him and his destiny. - Ebony beat Rob Gilbert by submission in 4:14 with the Loving Embrace. Afterwards, she helped him to his feet, only to kick him in the balls and leave him laying in the ring. - There was a commercial break during which Mak Francis came down to the ring with a t-shirt gun and fired some t-shirts into the crowd. - Alan Clark beat the Memphis Eel by submission in 6:22 with the Wrath of Clark. - The second video package was a spotlight of the USJL Champion Manson, detailing the path he’s taken in his quest to win SWF gold. Ben Hardy interviewed Manson, who spoke about all of the hardship that he had to face, and all of the obstacles that he had to overcome. He talked about the neck injury he sustained in the JL at the hands of Wildchild, and how it almost ended his career. He spoke about the many times that he quit, only to return because he loved wrestling so much. Hardy asked him what it meant to be the USJL Champion, and paused for a second, smiling to himself before telling Ben that winning the USJL Title made all of the hardship that he had to put up with on the way to get where he is worth it, and that he was leaving the AAC the same way that he went in; as the USJL Champion. - CIA and Xstasy beat Déjà Vu in 7:06 when Xstasy hit Kris with the Soargasm. - John Duran beat Renegade in 5:43 with the Blunt Force Trauma. - After the show came back from commercial, there was a third video package that broke down the birth of Revolution Zero, and showed the success that they’ve had as a group. Afterwards, Bobby Riley interviewed Revolution Zero. The interview was dominated by Toxxic, who vowed to make history by becoming the World Heavyweight Champion tonight in Dallas. Riley asked him to comment on the rivalry between him and Tom Flesher, to which Toxxic stated that Flesher’s vices had made him soft, and that he would defeat him with purity of thought and clarity of purpose. Sean Davis managed to worm his way into the conversation as well, claiming that Toxxic wasn’t the only person who was going to bring gold to Revolution Zero. Toxxic closed the interview by claiming that the Revolution had begun, and that after tonight, the SWF would never be the same. - Danny Williams beat Michael “Spike” Spaster by submission in 11:57. Deathwish escaped from the Saint’s Demise, and put Spike to sleep with the Buffalo Sleeper. Afterwards, a final video package aired, glossing over the card, as Frost went to fade. Ground Zero: - Mall Brawl’s kick ass! And Strangler~! I mean, damn, who the hell saw that coming? - Candace over Van Siclen was, without a doubt, the biggest upset of the night. I mean, yeah, Mike’s kind of a scrub, but he’s still a multi-time titleholder with years of experience! If I were a betting man, Candace definitely would have taken some of my money! - Alex Zenon came out before the start of the Munich/Ced match and announced that both men had failed to appear for the PPV, and as a result, had been fined and “will be subject to disciplinary action.” They had a substitute match, in which “Hollywood” Spike Jenkins beat Stryke in 6:46 with the Bad Beat after Jet grabbed Stryke’s leg from outside the ring. - I have to admit it, Manson’s starting to grow on me; I never thought he’d actually make it the WF, and if the JL hadn’t been closed down, he probably wouldn’t have made it. But, he’s really proven himself in the last several weeks. I’m glad that he decided to stick it out; he may finally be starting to realize his potential. - Man, was I hyped up for the ICTV Title match! Maddix and Johnny D have been at each other’s throats since Wild and Dangerous were taking on the House of Todd. Makes me glad once again that I’m not a betting man; no disrespect intended, but I have to tell you, if you’d have asked me a year ago which two members out of W&D and HoT would emerge to be battling for a major title today, you would again have taken my money. The crowd was off the hook for this match! When Johnny kicked out of the Crash Landon, I was sure that he was going to retain! - Nothing like seeing Jay Dawg tap out; I’ll never get tired of seeing that! Drazon tried to sneak attack Dace as he was heading towards the back, but Dace spun around quick and knocked him out with a sick elbow to the face! - Random thought: Soapdish has friends in high places, I’ll tell you what… refereed three high-profile PPV matches in a row, two of them title matches! I’ll bet he gets a FAT bonus check tonight! - After the Tag Team Title match, there was a brief intermission before the main event. Funyon directed our attention to a skybox, where ELM was sitting! He got a good ovation from the crowd, even though some assholes in the heel section started chanting “La Migra” while everyone else was chanting “E-L-M.” - What can I say about Toxxic that hasn’t already been said? The guy has Rookie of the Year on lock, and is probably the runaway leader for Wrestler of the Year. Personally, I think he’s a self-righteous prick, but he backed up his big talk in the ring, so you have to give it up for him… Revolution Zero seemed prepared to celebrate in the ring all night long, with Davis and Spike carrying him around the ring on their shoulders while Jet and Marcus Washington kept spraying him with champagne. Finally he got back down on his feet and demanded a microphone, and I have to tell you, he was almost starting to gain some fans here in Dallas… until he opened his mouth. He started off by telling us how we were unworthy to witness his ascension to the to of the SWF, because we were not as pure of mind and deed as he was… he then went into a little diatribe where he basically called Dallas the modern-day Sodom and Gomorra, and pretty much called everyone in the building a bunch of whores and addicts. He said that now that he ruled the SWF, he was going to give the fans around the world an example that they could look up to and model their lives around. By this point, most of the people at ringside were throwing trash into the ring, which only led Toxxic to start taunting them about their lack of civility and class. This went on and on until finally Dace Night came down to the ring, brandishing the WEEDWHACKER~! Unfortunately, Rev-Zero bailed out of the ring before he could cut a few of them open. Biggest Pops 1) Dace Night 2) The Boston Strangler 3) Johnny Dangerous 4) Manson 5) El Luchadore Magnifico Most Heat 1) Toxxic 2) Tom Flesher 3) Landon Maddix 4) Janus 5) Mike Van Siclen

At the risk of some shameless self-promotion... From the Fire '04: Wild and Dangerous© vs. the House of Todd. Royal hasn't been back since... now that's selling an injury!
-
Maddix, I'm not saying that I think that Sly should have to change his finisher just because I have it as a signature move. To the contrary, in fact, what I'm actually saying is that I think that I shouldn't have to change my signature move just because he decided to make it his finisher.
-
'92? I didn't even know the internet'd been around that long... I didn't even get my first e-mail account (at college) until '93.
-
Perfectly reasonable, but my point is that I was kinda sorta "first served," if you weeeell... I just didn't have it as a finisher... because the Wild Ride owns a lionsault.
-
Feh; that's because all your finishers are painstakingly slow and cripple people. - Dub "or TMM could reprise Grappler, and he and Janus could do a 'who has the best bearhug' match" Cee
-
Or, I could always go with a fistdrop; I'd certainly like to think that Dub Cee's character is established enough that I could pimp a fistdrop. I'll do it from the top rope, like the Rockers used to. - Dub "and maybe I'll add a flip or something" Cee
-
What establishes precedence and/or priority? I mean, if somebody (read: Sly) has a finisher that I had as a signature move (read: lionsault), does that mean I'm expected to get rid of it when I come back? Because nobody was using it as a finisher when I joined, and I was using it as a signature move for something close to two years before he joined and started using it as a finisher. - Dub "who decides?" Cee
-
Given the kind of people who post around here, I don't find that weird at all.
-
Twenty-five? Is that all?

Because the point of the electoral college is to make sure rinky-dink states have a voice, too. Republicans in particular are big fans of this, because if you ever lookat the election map there seems to be acres of red, each state an easily-forgotten one that only has a few electoral votes. But, when put together, are a better ace in the pocket than the Democrats winning the states where most of America is gathered. Actually, what I meant was something more like this: Colorado, for example, has nine electoral districts. My understanding of the way the electoral process should work (and this may just be my idyllic fantasy), is that each electorate would vote for whoever won the popular vote in their respective districts. Meaning that if Kerry won the popular vote in districts 1,2,6,7 and 9, and Bush won the popular vote in districts 3,4,5 and 8, then Kerry would get five of Colorado's electoral votes, and Bush would get the other four. But instead of working that way (which, it seems to me, would be much more like the representative republic that the United States is supposed to be than whatever it actually is), the way that things work nowadays in most states is that Kerry would probably be given all nine of Colorado's electoral votes, which essentially invalidates all of the votes of the people in all of the districts that didn't vote for Kerry. So why is it done that way?

SWF Match Of The Month Poll
Mr. S£im Citrus replied to Dace59's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
That's what I'm saying, Dace; not that I'm comparing the regular shows to the PPV, but when we have that many writers around right now, and less than two-thirds of them participate in a vote like this, it would seem to indicate that either people aren't reading other people's matches, or just don't care about stuff going on in the Fed that doesn't directly involve them (and possibly both). -
SWF Match Of The Month Poll
Mr. S£im Citrus replied to Dace59's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Come on, people; how 'bout some audience participation? There are at least twenty-six active writers in the fed right now, according to the PPV card; there's no excuse for there to only be nineteen votes.
