With the show coming up this weekend, I figured I'd bump it.

First Sixteen For Ted Petty Invitational Announced
JoeDirt replied to Phoenix Fury Legdrop's topic in General Wrestling
Who do you guys think will be some of the last eight? -
Well hell, that's what they call making the best out of a bad situation. They can still do Joe/Dragon down the road. Joe versus the OTHER Dragon should be fantastic.

Just so you know the finals is a three way dance. It goes 24 => 12 => 6 => 3. -

Am I crazy or was Samoa Joe announced for this earlier? Did he cancel like B-Boy too? Don't count Petey out from winning this thing. The champion Danny Daniels won the tournament last year. I think we'll see a Petey/Hero/Cannon finals, with either Petey or Cannon winning. And not liking Nate Webb? That's a crime!!! -
A few of us from the site (me, New F'N Show, CM Funk, Dynamite Kido) have agreed to start a wrestling review site, but none of us know how to run a website. So if anyone is interested in getting involved, please PM me. If you don't know how to run a site but want to contribute tape/show reviews, PM me anyways. But we're REALLY looking for someone reliable who can run a simple website right now. Thanks!

Along with some other guys from this board, we have an idea for a new wrestling review website, but need some help. All of us are stupid with computers, and we'd need somebody to help run the website. If you're interested, please PM me. Also, if you're interested to contributing wrestling show reviews from any level (WWE, indy, puro, whatever), please PM me. Thanks!

Christ, people, have patience! He'll get to XPW! Good stuff so far.

I actually like SS 95. The ladder match is great, Hakushi/Kid is fun, HOROWITZ WINS~! and Bret vs. Glen Jacobs Kane Isaac Yankeem is decent. Sure, the show had a horrible main event and meant nothing in the long run, but it wasn't THAT bad.
-
I thought HHH was going to be the one to go face and split from Evolution.
-
I don't hate it as much as most people do, but the only bright spot on the show is really the HBK-Vader main event. It's a good HBK vs. big man main event. Then, there's the Boiler Room Brawl between Undertaker and Mankind, which is just roughly 20 minutes of slow brawling in a dark boiler room, and then a decent fight out to the ring where Paul Bearer turns on Taker. Everything else is either horrible or bad for the most part. Yeah, the rest of the show is unremarkable (Savio vs. Owen, Bulldog vs. Sid, Mero vs. Goldust) or horrible (the tag title match).
-
98 is my favorite. Except for the Oddities BS, the rest of the show is all enjoyable.
-
The only time Kane pinned Taker, IIRC. Wasn't Foley basically not over at all before this match?
-
I saw this last night. My girlfriend liked it a lot, but I liked it less. I thought the twist was "eh" and felt kind of ripped off after the movie was over. Like a lot of hype for a match that is drawn out, but nothing really ever happens. It wasn't a pile of shit by any means, though, and there were interesting psychological aspects to it I suppose. But for the most part, a lot of the complaints lodged in above posts are absolutely correct. I'd pass on it in the theaters and wait until it comes out on video. It's probably worth a two dollar rental if go in not expecting to see the scariest movie of the summer. It's just not a scary movie. At all.
-
Awesome. I'll be getting a lot of those tapes soon too. You should post some reviews here or on the PCN site, I'd love to read them.
-
I hope the 4-way match is fantastic. That tag rumble doesn't look very good AT ALL. Maybe they'll let the 4-way match go 60+ minutes and try and get some buzz for 3PW? That could help them, at least IMO. I have never heard anyone say something like "oh, you have to see this match from 3PW!" before.
-
Yeah, gotta go with the Rumble match.
-
Just thought I'd bump this. I also wanted to mention that I'm going to be receiving a LOT of indy tapes real soon (saved up money over the summer, lol) and I plan to review them here. I also wouldn't mind getting them posted on a website anywhere. I just want to spread the news about all the great indy stuff going on today. So if anyone runs a site or has any connections, I'd love to have my reviews posted elsewhere. In the coming weeks and months (however long it takes me to get through all this stuff I suppose), I will be reviewing (starting in a week or two): ROH Reborn Stages 1 and 2 ROH Generation Next ROH World Title Classic ROH Survival of the Fittest PWG 88 Miles Per Hour PWG "Kee the Ee..." PWG The Musical IWA-MS Simply the Best 5 IWA-MS Shot of Southern Comfort IWA-MS One More Time IWA-MS Butcher Loose in Highland IWA-MS KOTDM 2004 And when I get more money I'll probably review the newest ROH and IWA-MS shows.
-
This is going to be a great fall for IWA-MS. We've got the great looking 8/21 show coming up, then the TPI, and then the Anniversary show. Awesome.
-
I'm always interested in learning about good indy feds. I know nothing of IWC right now, so I'd read it.

The Styles/Kash feud continued in IWA Mid South this weekend, where Kash cost Styles a match against Delirious, and Styles took out Kash in his match against Sabu and Danny Daniels. Not that TNA will show that or anything, but I thought I'd just mention it. Anyways, this show looks eh. Raven/Sabu has been a nice build, but the match just isn't going to deliver. The two tag team matches look really solid and I'm hoping Kash/Styles will be good, but I doubt anything will have enough time to break ***. Jarrett/Hardy does NOT excite me. Although, I'm not a 12 year old girl either...
-
DURRRR...two big Samoan guys, let's team 'em! Joe could be a HUGE star in TNA with the right push, but oh well. I'd rather see if stay in ROH. But yeah...Jarrett should spend TONS of money to bring in Jamal...he'll send the buyrates SOARING!
-
Yeah, I'm iffy on the 7/23 show, but I might have to buy it for Cannon vs. Rave and Petey vs. Hero. This show is a definite buy. I also have several shows coming, including Simply the Best 5 (thanks PFL!), A Shot of Southern Comfort, One More Time, A Butcher Loose in Highland, and the KODTM 2004. I'll post reviews on ALL of these shows here as I watch them.
-
Cool, thanks. One more question - is Cannon's "Glimmering Warlock" a Shining Wizard?
