~Guilty Pleasures~

It's been a while since we had a thread like this so separate the "smark" from the "mark" and fess up. What, who, which things do you like that you normally wouldn't admit about the WWE?

Heres a few to start.

Triple H winning. Just to see the 'net blow up about it. Sorry, but it's fun at times.

Dudley's are stale but I still mark for 3D.

Big Show isn't as bad as everyone says.

Undertaker is on and off with me but the few times he's been in the ring recently I've enjoyed his matches.

HHH is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. I get such a kick out of his endless political games and his character's overblown speeches and shit like that make me laugh.

If there was a PPV where I was guaranteed to hear 3 hours of HHH burying the entire WWE roster verbally, I'd buy it in an instant.

Let's see....

Whenever Goldberg or Austin's music hits, I mark out a bit. I still enjoy Goldberg, and I'm happy to see him with the strap. As for Austin, I wish they'd come up with something new for him to do, but I still mark for Austin.

I never thought Test was as bad as people make him out to be.

And the most embarassing thing: I still mark for Bradshaw and the Clothesline from Hell. Shoot me now.

Michael Cole as an announcer.

I used to absolutely despise his work, but since he's been paired with Tazz full time on SmackDown, the two of them together have made a REALLY good announcing team.

Cole finds a way to maintain balance between CALLING THE MATCH IN THE RING and setting up stories for the rest of the night. Tazz plays off both well.

Big Show I like because he has definate Character...he got a sense of humor and knows how to play a role and doesn't really complain when he jobs

Taker...well thats a given

Haku...is also a given, but he isn't working there anymore...... ohh but the next time I go to Florida Im definately buying a car from that Samoan Masta of Car dealings.

HBK...you know he was suppose to be jobbing gracefully out, but you still feel the need to pull for him.

Nash.... da Masta of the Quad now looks like a skinny 7 foot Duke Nukem with no balance... I must pull for him, because everyone dislikes him. What does he got left in him? He can do a handful of matches a month without thinking his leg gonna explode.... And he can do Mic work...when he doesn't do that fucking High Pitch voice during that "Why don't we stop that fussin and feuding" Period with him HBK and HHH.

My biggest guilty pleasure would have to be Raw. No matter how bad a show is one week, I'm right back in front of the TV the following week. It's almost like a crack addiction.

Goldust...., I enjoy his matches and his skits. I wish he would get a little more respect and a push by WWE, heck I was even a fan of his old man Dusty back in the old Crockett NWA.

undertaker - still mark when his music hits and he comes out and kicks some ass and no sells

mcmahon antics - yes this is probably going to get me killed here but in some strange way, i love those stupid mcmahon segments, i laugh when shane/vince get in a fight AGAIN, when vince is degrading his wife, and i loved the shane/vince fight at WMX7, and all of vinces antics when he fueded with austin and hell even hogan he was kinda entertaining

Yeah... and yet I usually only watch the first hour of Smackdown...

Michael Cole as an announcer.

Couldn't agree more. Cole and Tazz have come on in leaps and bounds and are now so far superior to JR and King it isn't even funny.

Vince's facial expressions still get me even though he repeats the same ones ad nauseum.

Sean O'Haire, especially in that APA Invitational @ Vengeance when he was waving pool cues about with a 'fucking come on then ya bastards' look on his face.

Hogan's point & YOOOUUU!, it just cracks me up.

Albert- although that shouldn't be a guilty pleasure- he's just plain entertaining.

Big Show- 'cause he blew me away when I saw him in person.

The Duds bore me- but when Fred Blassie called for the tables- that was pretty awesome.

Steph- yeah she's part of horrible story lines- but I still think she's cute.

I like to see HBK win.

I suppose that's the mark in me and not really a guilty pleasure.

Same here...hell, I still cringe a little when he loses a match.

I also like Show and A-Train...although I find it hard as hell to call him A-Train instead of Albert. They should've tried to ease the name in as a nickname, then slowly have it become his full name...kinda like how Show was "The Big Show" Paul Wight at first, but became The Big Show over time...or how The Rock was "The Rock" Rocky Maivia, and HHH was "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley...yeah. I'm done rambling.

Even though he's dead and gone, Al Wilson was always a guilty pleasure for me. I don't care what people say, his promo style was gold.

And last but not least...I like Sable.

As far as wrestlers are concerned, I'm still a big Bill DeMott fan. I've liked him since his WCW US title run days. Yeah, Gen. Rection was bad, but you can't say that DeMott didn't deserve some gold.

I'm a HUGE Val Venis mark. Although I wish he could get out of the gimmick and just go by Sean Morley.

I still like Stevie Richards. Pretty much anyone that was aligned with Raven at one time are ok in my books.

Sean O'Haire, I think, has a great look. That's all that someone needs nowadays for me to like them.

Finally, Hulk Hogan. I'll be a fan of the Hulkster until the day that I die.

Like Mr. Jag0 said, Raw is an addiction. SD I miss 50% of the time but I go out of my way to never miss Raw.

Flair but I don't know if he counts.

Orton, maybe it's his look or his cockiness but I like him.

Hogan, I'll never give up on. I've marked for him my whole life.

FBI when they were around.

Tommy Dreamer

No question you know he isn't going anywhere anymore...but you just love seeing him on even if it is just to put others over without a hint of complaint

There isn't anyone I really don't like at the moment, so everyone who could be considered a guilty pleasure is for me.

Main ones would be DA COACH, Hogan, Test, Randy Orton, Orlando Jordan, Chucky Palumbo...Stevie Richards doesn't count in my book. Everyone should like Stevie.

Ooh and Velocity. I love Velocity for some reason. Last week with Tazz and Matthews on commetary was awesomely cool.

Tazz- 'I have one T in my name too. And two Z's. I used to have one...but that's a totally different story.'

'Shannon Moore is the leader of the morons...you can be the leader of the Jerks Josh.'

Tazz rules.

a guilty pleasure would definately Tazz just stepping away from the commentator's booth long enough to beat someone down during a match.

Guilty pleasures?

1) Test

Why?

Test vs Edge (Surivor Series 2001)

Test vs Shane McMahon (Summerslam 1999)

Test vs William Regal (early 2001)

Test vs Eddie Guerrero (Wrestlemania X7)

Test vs Undertaker (Summerslam 2002)

2) Triple H

Why?

Because I used to have such a mark hatred of him in the good old days. Now I find myself laughing at all the anti-Triple H stuff out there and it amuses me when he wins.

3) No Way Out 2003

Why?

The PPV had a joke of a card, but it was a funny joke.

Big Show recently, which honestly scares me a bit.

Undertaker has been on an incredible role lately and I've actually started to enjoy him more and more.

Val Venis has always been one of my favorites, and I really wish he had never left SD because just before he did they were toying with an Edge/Val team which would have been awesome.

Steph. I know, I know.

Josh Matthews. Honestly, if it wasn't for his voice he'd be one of the best commentators working right now.

Velocity in general. Just a fun show. The announcers are less serious and its the only place to see guys like Funaki, Spanky and Ultimo wrestle.
