Guest Italian Stallion Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 Some people exchange gifts on Christmas Eve so Im just gonna go ahead and ask now. As for me, we exchange them on Christmas Day but the best gift I bought for a loved one has to be what I bought for my dad. I got him a flat screen TV. Im hoping he will put it in the family room but he will probably put it in his room. I wouldn't have even been able to afford the thing if my friend hadn't given me a gift with $100 in it. As cool as a flat screen TV sounds, its not half as cool as what my brother got my grandfather thought. A Mercedes. Thats what you get what you build the damn things. I finished my Christmas shopping at 4PM Christmas Eve at Best Buy.
Zorin Industries Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 I got this (not for those of a weak dispostion)
Zack Malibu Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 I got this (not for those of a weak dispostion) Hey, I've got all those at work. Pretty intense looking. I was thinking of snagging a set for display in my room.
Mole Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 You got your Dad a flat screen TV? My biggest present to my Pops was a DVD tower.
the max Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 I got my mom a new TV, a DVD player and a few DVD's. My best gift that I've gotten so far was all my shelving units. Gotta love shelves. Although, now I have to buy more stuff to put on them...
Damaramu Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 My best gift was the Ultimate Ric Flair Collection. My best gift I gave was a 49ers Hoodier for my mom.
Zorin Industries Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 Hey, I've got all those at work. Pretty intense looking. I was thinking of snagging a set for display in my room. Get that one, i think it's the best. I like the ironic christ like pose
Kinetic Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 My girlfriend bought me cigarettes, 40s, and porn. That was impossible to top, and it turned out that my more proper gifts from family members didn't even come close.
MrRant Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 I don't believe you have a girlfriend. A ho? Yes. Girlfriend? No.
Placebo Effect Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Best gift was my laptop, which I ended up getting at the beginning of December because I needed a new computer. Best one I got today was a beautiful, $150 coffee maker that I've wanted for a while. Best gift I gave was (all to the same person)... - A carton of Camel Lights, straight from Europe for only $18 shipped http://www.yesmoke.ch - A cute beanie hat thing, since she wears those all the time. - Adorned around the hat were Deadsy pins, the girl's favorite band. More of a "Wow, you listen to what I say" kind of thing.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Gave: Simpsons Road Rage (GBA) to my nephew DJ. He's been playing it all day. Received: Nothing actually stands out...a bunch of Simpsons things I don't care about (magnetic dartboard, huge Homer Pez dispenser, trivia game), few DVDs I expected, few CDs I expected...meh.
Lightning Flik Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Gave: Simpsons Road Rage (GBA) to my nephew DJ. He's been playing it all day. Received: Nothing actually stands out...a bunch of Simpsons things I don't care about (magnetic dartboard, huge Homer Pez dispenser, trivia game), few DVDs I expected, few CDs I expected...meh. Geezus... What is your nephew's name? He goes by the same nickname, I've been called for my last 20 years. As for giving: Just recently gave my father a spiffy (and expensive) mink (apparently, but I figure that's either a - company name, or b - fake) blanket. He was so happy about it, cause he loved it a lot. As for myself, best thing I got was last year I received a Gandalf toy that was made as realistically as possible. Where the sword is made of metal (and apparently sharp), the clothing is made of real wool and the hair is made of hair (I think. It's like all out. I loved my sis getting that for me. It's put away now, so I do not wreck it (limited edition type of thing I guess).
B. Brian Brunzell Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 I haven't actually recieved all of my gifts, as I won't see my parents until next Saturday. But what I got fom my aunt and cousins was nice. The best gift I got so far was a book on the history of Jazz, which I love already. The best gift I gave was a poem that I wrote for my cousin Rachael. We've been through alot together, and I wrote from the heart about all we've been through. She cried when she read it, and after that, I didn't even need a "Thank you" or anything of the sort. Her tears said enough.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Geezus... What is your nephew's name? He goes by the same nickname, I've been called for my last 20 years. As has everybody else whose middle name begins with a J, and first name begins with a D. Or whose first name begins with a D, and is named after their father.

Murmuring Beast Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Best gift, from my 13-year-old sister: A Beach Boys DVD Best gift given: Toughie considering I bought some amazing stuff this year. Probably the Shite Miscellany Book for my cousin or the Queen DVD I also got my cousin.

Ace309 Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Gave: I got my Japanophile dad a new sake set for his collection. It's black with a minimalist brushstroke design. It's one of those things that sounds kind of goofy but was very well picked out. Received: Either the USB thumbdrive my parents got me or the DVD of the Sinise-Malkovich Of Mice And Men that my sister got me. It's my favorite adaptation of my favorite book.
Lightning Flik Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Geezus... What is your nephew's name? He goes by the same nickname, I've been called for my last 20 years. As has everybody else whose middle name begins with a J, and first name begins with a D. Or whose first name begins with a D, and is named after their father. Actually, I believe my middle name is derived from my great-grandfather to honor him or something. Not my dad, as he begins with A.
Guest JacK Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Well, I gave my sister some earring's, they were pretty cool/expensive . . . though she gave me a braclet; which was odd but cool nonetheless. I keep thinking of the Simpson's episode where Homer gives Marge a bowling ball though.
