My two all time favorites are Prince and Aphex Twin, beyond that I find it really hard to narrow down. Currently... well, it could be anything, I can't really make a list either.

Yes, I used the term "artists" for both bands and solo singers collectively.

 

They're all great artists - and Billy Joel is nothing to be ashamed of.

I can never do this, but The Smiths and Sparks will always factor into my list no matter what. I can't choose one over the other, because whilst I think the Smiths are the most important band ever, would they still be churning out cutting edge music after 30 years of recording?
