Guest Bertil Olsson Report post Posted July 2, 2004 One time Huey Lewis and the News played a show in Antwerp. I was a child then. Mister Lewis was very drunk and proceeded to urinate himself during the course of the show while yelling that we had unpleasant odors. It was very unforunate. I really like that Back to the Future song though. The one about going back in time.

Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2004 Power Of Love Back In Time I Want A New Drug If This Is It Hip To Be Square Working For A Living I was a big fan of theirs when I was in elementary school, back in the early days of MTV they were one of the bigger video bands. I still have a soft spot for their hits and own a copy of the Sports album. BTW, bit of trivia, the band that became "The News" was Elvis Costello's backing band on his debut record (and for my money his best) My Aim Is True.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2004 Fuck Vh1 -- I like the <{ of Rock 'n Roll. But the only reason I like it is because it's used as the bumper music to Neal Bortz's radio show...
Slayer 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2004 No love for "Do You Believe in Love"? Boo
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2004 Not really a fan of most of their stuff, specially those awful "Perfect World" songs from that album. The only one I really liked was "Jacob's Ladder" (written by Bruce Hornsby, mind you), and although I never really liked "Power of Love" it kinda grew on me after all this time. starvenger 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2004 Ever see the "Power Of Love" video? It's on the BTTF DVD set. Man did that suck. But the song is awesome. Huey's cameo was great. "I'm afraid that you're just too damn loud." "The Power of Love" "I Want a New Drug" "If This is It" Their doo-wop stuff is OK, but well... it's just not the same, you know? mw679 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2004 I've always been impartial to the "Sports" album. "I want a new Drug" and "Bad is Bad" are probably my two faves. Huey Lewis is just one of those things that if you grew up in the '80's were always there, MTV, VH1, radio, etc. Ahh, childhood memories...

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2004 I'll mention Heart And Soul because nobody else did. Also, that acapella "It's Alright" isn't bad, although it has a bit too much of "Don't Worry, Be Happy" in it.

Guest GreatOne Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Huey Lewis once sued Ray Parker, Jr., because his song, "Ghostbusters" sounded alot like "I Want A New Drug". I guess Dave Mustaine better be on the lookout for any lawsuits from Diamondhead for 'When' going nearly note-for-note with 'Am I Evil?'.
