AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 This "firing all Divas on SD" could really blow up in their faces. I know a lot of smarks don't like seeing Torrie or Sable on screen, but they do attract a male audience. I don't want to see a Dawn/Torrie feud again, but I do think their is a role for them to play. Plus, what are they gonna do on Raw? Sit in the back with Stacy? Wrestler for the women's title? You say that as if they'll actually even move them. Even the marks don't believe they're actually "fired." They'll be back around Summerslam
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Sounds like a good show. Paul London with 2 straight wins on SD? thats good for me. Cruiserweight Tag Team Match? Good for me too, Dudleyz storyline hopefully leads to three heel Dudleyz facing off against London, Kidman and Mysterio at SS, that would be cool. *Unless of course we can get London.Kidman vs F.B.I.* JBL is a decent world champ. His in-ring skill isn't very good, but he's good on the mic and his gimmick is new and kinda enjoyable. Woudl I prefer Eddie as champ? Yeh. But look at the bright side... at SS instead of getting a shitty match that we've seen 3 times, JBL vs Eddie, at least we'll get a great match out of this (Angle vs Eddie) although we'll have to sit through the pain of Taker.JBl... ugh. And What the hell happened to Haas? He saves the referee, and then he disappears? Haas rules.. One of the top five in-ring wrestlers on the SD Roster, hope he's back with something to do shortly. Maybe they'll repackage him as a Randy Orton type heel. I dunno, but BRING BACK HAAS!
Twisted Intestine 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 I wouldn't mind if the Divas show up on RAW... The womans title doesn't have much for contenders.. and although I'm not a big womans wrestling fan, I do respect them and think they diserve a decent push. I wouldn't mind if all the divas were on one show and had some heated feuds for the title.. as long as they didn't get TOO much air time. Besides.. this is a good way to keep them away from the cruiserweight title
Guest Astro Report post Posted July 14, 2004 I'm watching a SD! from 2003 The line up is Beniot vs Eddy, Eddy+Rhyno vs Beniot+Tajiri, Cena vs taker and Brock vs Vince (cage) Sigh.....
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Match culminated with both men on top of the cage until el gran luchadore appeared and pulled eddie down and delivered an angle slam. JBL Gets the win. Following the match eddie unmasks the luchadore and it is Kurt Angle. "Mein fuhrer...I can walk!" This week's episode is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous communist plot we have ever had to face.

Unless they all show up on Raw and do what Stacy does (ie NOTHING), then we can talk. Torrie wrestling and being a contender is slowly going back to when Stacy Carter was champion. And why would she be complaining, storyline wise? Weren't Sable and Torrie just on Smackdown two weeks ago?
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 "And why would she be complaining, storyline wise? Weren't Sable and Torrie just on Smackdown two weeks ago?" I missed that SD where it happened, but Angle did something or other to one of them I think.

Guest TigerDriver91 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 And why would she be complaining, storyline wise? Weren't Sable and Torrie just on Smackdown two weeks ago? This is WWE and we are not allowed to remember anything from the past few weeks, months, years.
Promoter 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Now the next question is who gets fired next and sent to one show. Would sending all the tag teams to one brand be a good idea?
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Now the next question is who gets fired next and sent to one show. Would sending all the tag teams to one brand be a good idea? Well, Smackdown has a potentially strong enough tag team division to more than support the show. Raw's tag team division is very weak, but in a pinch those belts make good accessories for 2 Evolution members. If you put all the tag teams on one show, you would either have most of them rot on Velocity/Smackdown and dark matches, or have almost nothing but tag matches on the main show. So I don't think it would be a good idea.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 I'm actually kinda glad JBL won. As much as Eddie eclipses him in every way...except maybe promos right now, because the 'holmes' stuff is finally grating on me...hot-shotting the title back to Eddie wouldn't have done the belt that much good. Having JBL hold the title for a couple of months isn't neccessarily going to kill the brand, as there's Angle/Eddie above his reign in the card pecking order and the undercard is slowly been sorted out. Eddie's second reign can wait for a while.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Ugh....... why does Spike get a push? Are they that devoid of face cruisers that they have to use a guy who wrestles a heavyweight style and can't keep up with the other cruisers? I have said this five times. I will say it again: They should have used Rey, Noble, and Kidman in a 3-person feud for the cruiser belt, and teamed Paul London up with Shannon Moore instead. This would not only have allowed London to continue using the SSP (and possibly develop it into an angle with Kidman donw the line), but all they'd have to do is have Moore grow his hair out again and BOOM, an all-new Hardy Boyz face team who men love for the bumps and women love for the OMGSODREAMY, and they won't even have to mention Matt & Jeff to get the same vibe going. Dark Age 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 So Taker and Triple H are working out as the champs at Slam? I LOVE WWE! SD! is dead to me now. I shall no longer watch. This shall be the first SD I ever miss. JBL as champ and not Eddie does that to ya.
strummer 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 It's obvious Angle is done as GM now. The board fires him for being too power hungry and for interfering in matches. The new GM re-hires all the divas, gives Cena another shot at the US title, and forces Kurt back in the ring against Eddy at Summerslam for costing him the title. Sounds like Stephanie is going to make a galant return. I can't think of anyone else, but the new GM will definitely be a face.
Guest Holzhammer Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Maybe if all the Divas go to Raw, we can see "Tea Party" segments where all the Divas sit together and just talk about who's ass is cuter, Orton's or Jericho's and stuff like that. Ratings, baby, yeah! If that happens, then Raw will start to become shit again with the Raw Diva Search winner (I think she'll get way too much airtime after so much promoting from WWE in the past few weeks) segments AND the regular non-wrestling diva segments with Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler, etc.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Is Vince purposely trying to kill Smackdown with keeping the title on JBL? I guess HHH has finally succeeded in his mission to bury Eddie Guererro, hasn't he? Hey just remember none of this (JBL run) had to happen if it wasn't for Big Baby Brock. So when he comes crying back to Vince, make sure he gets some of your hatred ok? -Benoit to Raw -Edge to Raw -Big Show hurt -Angle hurt -RVD & Booker buried in the midcard Yeah, it's all Brock's fault Not that he'll be coming back any time soon, but I'd welcome him back w/ open arms. And speaking of Haas, didn't Angle make a Haas/Reigns match for this show a couple weeks ago? What happened?
haVoc 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Another report from 411mania Credit: Ryan Morgan & PWInsider.com Smackdown! opens with Booker T in the ring, saying he should be the United States champion because he is a former five time WCW champion and he was the one in the ring with John Cena when Kurt Angle stripped him last week. Rene Dupree came out and said that he should be the champion because they need a champion with class. Kenzo Suzuki and Hiroki came out and Hiroki said that Suzuki should be the champion, so the United States is represented by someone who loves the U.S. Booker insulted Suzuki, saying he doesn't even know how to speak English. Suzuki said, "Can you dig that Sucka?" which gave Booker the chance to say, "Tell me he didn't just say that?" John Cena came out and insulted everyone, using Wizard of Oz references against all four. He says that he's going to Kurt Angle's office and he's going to get his title back. Cena goes into Angle's office and threatens him. Angle asks him if he'd hit someone in a wheelchair. Cena pulls him out of the chair. Luther Reigns tries to attack Cena, but he sidesteps Reigns and throws him into a wall, knocking him out. Angle has security drag out Cena and warns him it's going to be a night he never forgets. *Rey Misterio & Spike Dudley defeated Chavo Guerrero & Jamie Noble. Noble had Spike defeated when D-Von Dudley came out and distracted the referee. Bubba Ray Dudley hit the ring and low blowed Noble, putting Spike on top for the pin. Afterwards, the Dudley Boyz were motioning that they helped Spike while he was acting as if he didn't want their help. *In Angle's office, Reigns is being tended to. Angle announces John Cena is going to face Kenzo Suzuki, Rene Dupree, and Booker T in a handicap match later tonight. *In a handicap match, it was John Cena vs. Booker T & Kenzo Suzuki & Rene Dupree. The handicap match featured elimination style falls. Kenzo Sukuzi was disqualified for choking Cena with a yellow sash he got from Hiroki while Cena was tied to the tree of woe in the corner. Cena pinned Rene Dupree after hitting a slingshot into a ringpost. Booker T tossed Cena out of the ring, where he was attacked by Luther Reigns and tossed into the ringpost. Cena was tossed back in the ring, where Booker pinned him with an Axe Kick. Booker wasn't given the belt, so it's still vacant. *Backstage, the divas confronted Kurt Angle in his office and said they were tired of being ignored. Torrie Wilson told Angle that she knows that he blames her for her injuries, but not to take it out on everyone. Angle said he wouldn't do that, because they were all fired. *They aired a promo touting the Smackdown debut of John Heidenrech, who noted that no one would give him a chance. He said that one man is giving him a chance and that man, Paul Heyman, will benefit. *Backstage, Josh Matthews interviews Eddie Guerrero about his Cage match tonight. Guerrero promised victory and said he was gonna get high off winning the title. *WWE Tag Team champion Paul London pinned D-Von Dudley with a rollup and a bridge. Bubba Ray Dudley and Billy Kidman were at ringside. *Backstage, Kurt Angle announced John Cena vs. Luther Reigns for next week. *In a Steel Cage Match, John Bradshaw Layfield defeated Eddie Guerrero. Guerrero hit a frog splash off the top of the steel cage, but was too hurt to cover him initially and Bradshaw kicked out. The finish of the match saw both men battling atop the cage. El Gran Luchadore came out and grabbed Guerrero's leg, allowing Bradshaw to reach the floor for the victory. El Gran Luchadore tried to get out of the cage but it was locked shut. He climbed back up the cage but was attacked by Guerrero. When Guerrero yanked at his mask, it was Kurt Angle under the mask.

As for Heidenreich, well, he's no worse than, say, Monte Brown --- so what the hell. Give him a shot, I guess. -=Mike
