AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2007 Well, at least it was an Others-centered episode that, get this, wasn't boring, so I'm not really complaining. The ending was pretty predictable and hopefully they'll be a pretty satisfactory culmination to this angle, though I'm kind of doubting it. Locke was deliciously evil in this, however. In Credible 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2007 Good episode. Just like the person said before, give me a break with the Hero's is so much better wah wah wah! Let's see if Hero's is still watchable in it's third season let alone as good as Lost. Find me the post in question where I said Heroes is so much better. I miss Heroes so much. Heroes would not have pulled a bullshit ending like that. You are implying that since "Hereos wouldn't pull a bullshit ending" that it is a better show. And im pretty sure pages ago people were saying how Heroes is better, I wasn't just talking about you.
Spicy McHaggis 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2007 People were saying that Heroes (one of my favorite shows BTW) was a better show and I did try to point out that Lost is unparalleled on network TV as far as writing goes. Whoever said that we're used to it is exactly right. I actually think we're supposed to expect these connections, I do not think the writers believe that they are putting on an ending no one will expect. I do have to give credit where it is due and that goes to Dub. Not that you liked or disliked an episode... but that you posted your thoughts either way. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2007 Heroes is definatly the better show right now, but let it run 3 seasons and see if it can still hold up. Like most others, I did not love the ending to the episode. I was sitting there thinking "ah Christsake, it's gonna be his dad." I liked the rest of the episode though

But to make it official, right now Heroes is smoking Lost six ways from Sunday.
In Credible 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 And how is me pointing out that you implied something with one statement putting words in your mouth? Then you go and prove me wrong by stating exactly what I said you implied? Yeah, good argument.
The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 Why? Because he keeps getting conned again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again. Locke's the Sting of LOST??!! I gotta catch up on the show then.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 Yeah, Locke's proven to be a fucking tard. Everything in that episode--like, everything--was telegraphed and predictable, but at least some shit blew up.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 I didn't really see Locke as being conned in this episode. He was planning to blow up the submarine since he heard about it; just because him blowing it up also achieved exactly what Ben wanted doesn't mean that he tricked Locke into doing it - I think Locke woulda done it whether it helped Ben or not, because Locke is apparantly that horrified of the real world. And I don't see his dad being on the island as outlandish as some people do. Keep in mind, this is the same island that Eko's brother crash-landed on, years before Eko did. Is it really that implausible, in terms of the show (especially compared to previous events) to think that maybe his Dad had a private jet/boat/whatever that crashed on the Island? Extremely coincidental? Sure. Totally impossible in terms of the show? I don't think so. And beyond that, I could also see the Others having brought him to the Island somehow. Simply put, maybe we should wait until we actually have some idea of how he got there before we start freaking out that every relative of every LOST member is gonna show up somehow. In Credible 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 Yeah, I was thinking of possible ways Locke's father got there, and their are tons of possible ways. I don't understand how people start calling bullshit when they don't let the writers even explain it.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted March 23, 2007 Yeah, again, I don't see how some people are outcrying the appearance of Locke's dad on the show when you've had Jack and Claire's dad, Eko's brother, and lord knows how many other weird shit mysteriously appear on the island. I was thinking we'd finally get an answer to how these illusions, if that's what they really are, manifest themselves if Locke is going to interact with his father here, and moreso how the Others were able to grab "the man from Tallahassee". Think they've got some kind of teleportation device? And that's what this "box" is?
slimm44 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 Could Locke's dad be 'The Man From Tallahassee'?
tommytomlin 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 Could Locke's dad be 'The Man From Tallahassee'? Uhh... yes? Isn't that one of the things we know pretty much for sure? Ben said to go fetch The Man From Tallahassee, and the only man we see after that is Locke's dad. I think that's the most obvious sign that he was kidnapped and physically brought to the island by the Others, not imagined or teleported. The Others have shown in the past they can retrieve the most detailed of information about the castaways (Juliet reading Jack his big-ass file), and they're certainly not above the act of kidnapping. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 Re: tonight's episode, minor spoilers, nothing revealing info on tonights show. We will not be getting any resolution on the Locke/Cooper storyline for at least three episodes. This comes from the official Lost podcast via ABC.com. Also, fans who have seen the episode have already started saying that if any episode will make people say Lost has jumped the shark, it'll be this one. I'm simultaneously interested and afraid of tonight.
Jonathon 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 some better spoilers for tonight. Credit:Spoilerfix.com This week on Lost, Maggie Grace (Shannon) returns, Sun goes all nutty fisticuffs and... someone is going to die. Someone I personally love. Someone I personally am sad to see go! But I worry I might be in the minority. Regardless, how this person dies is perhaps the most disturbing death I have ever heard of. Let's just say I have one big monster of a phobia, and this death plays into that. Source: Kristin on E!Online [Note: Seems like Kristin is talking about the spiders we see in the previews biting said character, which is rumored to be paralyzed as if dead...]
dubq 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 RAZZLE DAZZLE! I'm watching this right now so this is definitely a spoiler: Hurley: Dude, Nikki's dead! Sawyer: *looking shocked* Who's Nikki? Classic! ----- Also not too bad a job of getting Nikki and Paulo into the crash site scenes. I'm actually hating them less now that they're being given some sort of back story other than the "oh look, pretty new cast members - just because we can!" reasoning that seemed prevalent before. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 Wow, the writers must've been binging on Tales From The Crypt before writing this one. I liked it. It was a fluff episode.
dubq 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 Definitely fluff, but I actually enjoyed it (I rarely enjoy fluff episodes). The ending was sick.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 Yeah, it was good, but it really makes me wonder why they bother introducing new characters just to kill them all.
treble 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 Yeah, it was good, but it really makes me wonder why they bother introducing new characters just to kill them all. I think that someone's going to dig up the graves to get the diamonds and find out that they're still alive.

tommytomlin 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 It's cool to not use spoiler tag now? I think anybody clicking the Lost thread They totally better not have died. I never got the Nikki/Paulo hate, I think they were good to use as the 'noob' characters to explain the more complicated plots for new viewers. This was a really fun episode, and I think it justified those who didn't immediately want them dead. I just wish the preview hadn't flashed a picture of the spider, because it kind of ruined the twist.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 They're dead. They got buried alive. They're all kinds of dead. Can we move onto actual storyline and plot now?

bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 Pretty good episode. Lots of "continuity porn" here. Though the ending was all kinds of fucked up. I'm noticing a direct correlation between the amount of Others in the episode and my enjoyment of LOST episodes. The less Others, the better the episode is. Beach-oriented episodes are far superior. My only complaint was that I thought it was lame how they found the plane and The Pearl before anyone else. A little too cute there. Why wouldn't Nikki tell anyone about it? I get Paulo not saying anything b/c he didn't want anybody to find the diamonds. Did a nice job integrating them into various moments from the show. If advancing the main storyline means we have to sit through more of "Livin' with The Others!" then Seriously, FUCK the main storyline. I'd rather they ditch all of it and spend the rest of the show telling stories about the Beach losties. Sawyer, Charlie, Desmond, Jin, Hurley, these guys are the real fuckin show. This episode, as well as the DHARMA VAN episode and the recent Charlie/Claire/Desmond episodes are all better than the Other-centric episodes. BTW - did anyone notice the LOSTZILLA sound go off in the background before all the spiders came? Nikki even heard it and was looking around.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 I heard it. Actually figured that was what would get Nikki.
