I am absolutely gobsmacked by this, Matt was one of my favourite performers, always got a good crowd reaction, improved immensly on the mic and always gave it his all in the ring.

 

I haven't been watching much recently anyway but this is the final straw.

I was slightly shocked when I read this but then I figured someone was going to be fucked in this whole seedy affair, and Matt was simply the odd man out. Edge is in the midst of a big push on Raw and Lita is still useful in the womens division (when healthy), so the already injured Matt was screwed here. The only two acceptable reasons are 1. They felt having him on the roster was a risk. 2. Matt said fuck it and asked for his release.

 

The weird aspect here is that I was talking to my friend Ian about the Hardys during WM and he said "I am glad to be right about the Hardys, I always figured Matt would turn out better." I joked "Yeah the guy is currently hurt and his girlfriend nailed someone on the side. The poor guy is probably THIS close to being on Heat and/or being released."

But still, if he didn't ask for this, then this is probably one of the more underhanded moves WWE has made.

Depends on if they opt to take it. IIRC, released wrestlers can choose whether or not to accept the 90-day deal. If they accept, they'll get paid for the 90 days, but can't wrestle anywhere else. If they decline, they don't get paid by the WWE, but can pick up bookings right away (which is what Raven did when he was released).

Funny thing is I remember back in 2000 reading on message boards that everyone thought Jeff was going to be the "Shawn Michaels" of the team, and everyone was calling Matt, "Hardy Jannetty". Weird how things turn out huh? Still though, I wish nothing but the best for Matt. This is really wrong on WWE's part, IF Matt didn't request the release.

Before I saw Matt wrestle it had been as if I had been living under a rock in the dark mud my entire life, after I saw him perform it was like looking into the sun for the first time, so beautiful and majestic. Words cannot describe the sorrow which engulfs my very being. I loved Matt Hardy, and I am man enough to say it.

It's because Jeff was the spot machine. But all those early interviews were saying how Matt was a "student of the game", and always trying to improve himself in the ring, so in hindsight, it shouldn't be much of a surprise that Matt turned out to be the better wrestler.

Anyways, when something like that happens to you, WHY would you want to broadcast it to the world? I'm sure WWE wouldn't even really care if he say, told his family, or was pissed and told some of his friends, etc. but, I mean, he posted it on the freakin Internet. (although it would have came out eventually anyways). More then likely, it's because of Matt Hardy, that there are 'You Screwed Lita' chants.

 

And I love how a lot of people, are seemingly taking it personally. And maybe we don't know the whole story. Hell, maybe Matt went off or something, and started making death threats at Edge (doubt it though, but yea, you get the point) None of us really know what happened. As there was a whole discussion about it in the other thread, people cheat, it's a way of life. Well, for a lot of people. And I doubt, 'Edge was rewarded for fucking his friends girlfriend'. He was already in the middle of a push before the whole thing surfaced, so there's no reason for them to punish themselves (which could have been the case had they depushed Edge.)
