well, Andrew, it's just like what we argued about before, you just HAD to know it was gonna happen somewhere, sometime...now it's just a matter of whether it actually makes a difference or not...time will tell...

Well, it's not like it's being imposed in a sane state or anything, but it is still disconcerting.

Isn't this the same Asshole who did Commando, Terminator 1,2,3 , Predator, even Kindergarden Cop had some violence in it. Why doesn't he sign a bill that fines Blockbuster Video and Hollywood Video as well as Best Buy that sell violent movies to kids as well. Fuck Arnold and Fuck Censorship.

Because it's easier to mess with video game companies than it is movie studios?

It must be, because whenever a kid shoots up a school we see the montage of Doom and Mortal Kombat and people talk about banning video games.

I think it's great that the Japanese had no problems with a game about having one (or two) American pilots of planes that are somehow 100x smaller than some of the Japanese fleet become war heroes. If a similar game was released with the roles reversed, I can't see the USA accepting it.

Where is some of that Street Fighter art in CCC from? Specifically, the Super Street Fighter II "Vacation" picture where Bison is parasailing and the picture where Bison is relaxing in his mansion with his hat off while a girl in a bathing suit wears it.

The vacation picture I believe was originally on a postcard, then later slapped in a number of artbooks. The style looks different but it is official.

It's rare to see video game characters, especially females, with tanlines. I guess growing up in Britain left Cammy pretty susceptible to tanning (and that was before sprayons got big).

Bison parachuting in trunks is perhaps the best part. And even there Ryu is all by himself.

Chun Li looks a bit too muscular, though.

Okay, bear with me as this is a stupid question:

In Here Comes the Pain's Season Mode, I cannot delete the stables. Now, let me run through what I've tried so far:

1. Started New Season, carried over all the previous data, went to the Check Stables thing, could select any stables. Highlighted each stable, could not select it.

Could somebody please tell me what to do, it's pretty annoying having Kurt Angle and Hulk Hogan/Scott Hall and Curt Henning as the Tag-Team Champions.

From 1up:

Sonic Rush, Tengai Makyou Details

The hot Nintendo DS software keeps rolling on through.

by David Karlin, 10/10/2005

12 of 12 users recommend this story.

In the newest issue of Japanese publication Nintendo Dream, new features were revealed for Tengai Makyou II DS and Sonic Rush, Sonic the Hedgehog's dual-screen debut.

In regards to Tengai Makyou II, an RPG classic that never made its way to the west (though the series has shown up in the past as Far East of Eden) new features about the battle and map system were shown. Featuring first person battles ala Dragon's Quest in a western RPG style, you actually draw your attacks. For example, drawing a diagonal slash across an enemy is a weak attack, whereas an 'L' type shape strikes medium, and 'Z' is heavy. The magazine notes the higher the strength of the attack, the lower the accuracy, so you'll have to mix up what you're dishing out.

During battles, players can switch between viewing the condition of various party members or looking at what a specific character has equipped on the second screen. Outside of battle, the screen displays several different maps, including world maps, town maps, and even old Japanese-style road maps with town signs appearing as wooden boards.

Surprisingly, Sonic Rush also seems to be taking great advantage of the DS. One of the newest and unexpected additions is a "trick action" mini-game during the special stages. During these, you'll perform trick actions with Sonic by pressing a series of numeric buttons as they appear, and because they're timed, you'll have to be fast with your touching. In addition, the special stages resemble those of Sonic 3; you use the touch screen to slide Sonic left and right, grabbing rings and avoiding spikes.

The game is also set on a "Zone Map" somewhat similar to the world map of Super Mario Bros 3. While moving from Zone to Zone, gamers will encounter character dialogues that move the plot. It's also hinted you'll have support characters on the top screen during the map section, though what they'd is unknown. The magazine also featured screens of great looking, fully 3D bosses you can run circles around and battle in a Klonoa-esque 2.5 way.

Nintendo DS software is really coming into it's own, so let's hope the hits just keep on coming.

I got MVP 2005 for Gamecube at a used game store Saturday. I want to start a season or whatever you want to call it, but my memory card doesn't have enough room. My blank, black, 260 or whatever block memory card. What the hell do I have to do to save stuff without buying a new memory card? I mean, come on.

Delete old game saves, there's no other way without getting another card

I'll tell the same story I've told about the idiotic ratings system:

I worked for EB right when the ratings hit. For one week, I decided to enforce them.

I got complaints by parents constantly and they always (and I mean, legitimately, 100% of the time) would call me an obscene name for wasting their time and then buy the game for their kid.

If parents don't care --- it's not retailers job to do their job for them.

That just doesn't matter Mike. Some parents don't care if their kids drink before 21 but that doesn't mean bars and resturants should ignore the law because of the childs parent. If the parent is cool with their child drinking then they have to go and buy it and deal with the consequences.

If the parent is going to buy the game for the kid, then the retailer is doing nothing wrong. They just sell it to the parent and that be that. What these laws are basically saying is that "You know those rules that you SHOULD be following anyway. Yeah...follow them".

I still haven't seen good argument against this. Bottomline, there are some parents that don't want their children renting/buying games above the rating level for them, and it IS the job of the retailer to sell the merchandise to the audience that it is made for. Porn stores shouldn't be selling porn to 15 year olds. Sure they are going to get it somehow anyway, but so the fuck what. The retailer is only reponsible for their merchandise and whos hands they put it into. Same concept here. If the video game stores are enforcing the game rating system, then these laws change absolutely NOTHING for them.

I did that. There's nothing left on the card. I'm in no position to buy a new memory card for a soon-to-be-outdated system, so if there's any way to completely strip a memory card (like the old N64 Z-button trick), I'd like to know.

Ripper, the kids have the money, almost universally, because their parents GIVE it to them.

Don't give them the cash and the problem is solved.

Parents don't want to do the work. If a game called "GRAND THEFT AUTO" didn't raise any eyebrows of parents --- then it's not the job of retailers to make the parents do their jobs.

They should not be required to do so. It's the PARENTS job to raise their kids. It's not the stores' job to do that job.

Super Princess Peach preview:

http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3144554&did=1

Hm, so she's prone to emotional outbursts.  Yeah, nothing remotely sexist about that. :)

Looks cool and creative, somewhat like a Pac Man 2 with direct control over the protagonist.

Utilizing the touch screen, players can take advantage of Peach's apparent bi-polar disorder and change her emotions on the fly via tapping on hearts that contain each emotion. Say Peach needs to flee across the danger of a collapsing bridge. You simply prod her into a state of sadness, causing her to bawl like the little girl she is and off she goes -- running, screaming and crying in terror! Other emotions include anger, in which Peach explodes into a violent, Midol-depraved state of flames and gains super human strength and excitement, where she simply pirouettes to her heart's content.

Ahahaha, wow.

Most of the writing on 1up still sucks, except for Parish's.

What moronic editor let "Midol-depraved" through? It's wrong on so many levels.

I guess it's like such-and-such year being a banner year for women in politics if two new congresspersons are women. It's all relative.

I guess the umbrella will still provide a similar function to the floating feature in Mario 2.

The rumored storyline is that she's got to rescue Mario...which if it's true, I expect it to be a dream like Mario 2.

you're on drugs...she was only valuable in world 4 (the Ice world) when you have to float over large gaps between the whales....now Toad was the fucking man in that game...

Luigi was better than Mario for most levels in Mario World Advance (they gave him the higher flutter jump from SMB2 in the Advance version).

Although levels with spikes on the ceilings, etc. often were a must for Mario.

Mario was totally average in everything in Mario 2. Peach could float. Luigi had the higher/flutter jump. Toad...yah, could pull up things faster.

I hope the improvements on Mario 64 DS is made available on Revolution. I'd love to try the other characters featured, but I'm not about to risk 25 bucks + to find out how poorly the controls work on a game made for analog control.

All we need now is a game where Bowser is the main protagonist.

Hell yeah, Bowser was awesome in Super Mario RPG. A game about how he would take over the mushroom kingdom would be great. However, Nintendo already has their anti-hero in Wario.

While we're at it, has Wario ever been the main antagonist in a game other than Super Mario Land 2 ?

10 lbs.: Wario Ware makes him an eeeevil programmer, in Mario & Wario he's the bad guy, and I assume he's the main baddie in Wario's Woods.

But not in another platform game, AFAIK.

The most kick ass Sonic character of all time.

Fuck what you heard.

Too bad he's a moron. :)

I picked up Yoshi Topsy-Turvy. Gimmicky as all hell, but pretty darn fun.

But playing it public makes you look insane.

I found a COMPLETE Street Fighter The Movie for PSX. I used to have the disc only, but it was scratched all to hell. This disc is nearly perfect.

The actor bios are funny. Looks like the people who did the manual spent about 2 minutes tops on each one. But Van Damme's bio gives more information on him than all the rest put together, and it's virtually all about his martial arts background.

Ming-Na Wen is currently enjoying great success as an Asian-American actress.

Filmography: The Joy Luck Club ('93)

Her previous career as an African American film actress was a failure I presume.

(Kylie)

Well known as both a singer and actress...

In the US, maybe 8 years prior to the movie coming out. Wait, actress?

I guess I'll incur Fluffykotz's wrath for that.

(Raul Julia)

This actor is best known for his role as the suave, passionate father Gomez of the Addams Family series.

Which made him an excellent choice as M. Bison I guess.

Colonel Guile bio:

The ultimate combination of intelligence and power..

Blanka quote:

"Grrrrr! I hunger for blood!"
