TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 Last year Without a Trace submitted "Wannabe", the best episode well ever, and didn't get any big nominations. The people at the Emmy's can be clueless Which episode was this? What was it about(I suck with names)? I also hope Without A Trace gets some recognition but I'm fairly certain it won't outside of a sympathy nod for Lapaglia.
treble 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 Wannabe was the one where the kid goes missing from the school and they think it's a kidnapping at first, but ends up he ran away and was going to hang himself because he was humiliated by some girls from his class. Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 Have any UPN/WB shows ever received Emmy recognition? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, in 2001 UPN was in this valued category. OUTSTANDING CHILDREN'S PROGRAM (Area Award) "King Gimp." HBO. "Nick News with Linda Ellerbee." Nickelodeon. "Peter Pan Starring Cathy Rigby." A&E. "Rugrats." Nickelodeon. "The Teen Files: Surviving High School." UPN. Other than that, no to both.

Malone was submitted probably to get LaPaglia a nod. The other episode (the one with Dylan Baker) was probably to help Eric Close. I don't know why they submitted the abortion episode. Mik 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 No other Entourage fans? Jeremy Piven is solid gold on that show.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 Piven rules on Entourage, but the rest of the cast is kind of eh. Best show on TV (at least IMO) that is not gonna get any consideration is The Wire. Such great writing and acting, yet goes unnoticed by the Academy. For shame because it's so damn good. Sad that only Tim Cooke is the only guy here who's seen the damn show. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 Watch all the comedy nods get taken by Desperate Housewives. It's bullshit, just like when Ally McBeal was nominated as a comedy and won. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow..its like you were posting from 1 1/2 hours in the future.. Joining "Desperate Housewives," "Will & Grace" and "Everybody Loves Raymond" in the best comedy series category were last year's winner, "Arrested Development," and "Scrubs." Besides "Lost," other best-drama series contenders were "Deadwood," "Six Feet Under," "24" and the veteran White House drama "The West Wing." Three stars of "Desperate Housewives" were honored in the category best lead actress in a comedy series including Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman. Left out were co-stars Eva Longoria and Nicollette Sheridan. Other nominees in the category were Patricia Heaton of "Everybody Loves Raymond" and Jane Kaczmarek of "Malcolm in the Middle." Among those named in the category for best lead actor in a comedy series were two Emmy newcomers, Jason Bateman of "Arrested Development" and Zach Braff of "Scrubs. Also nominated were Eric McCormack of "Will & Grace," Ray Romano of "Everybody Loves Raymond" and Tony Shalhoub of "Monk." James Spader, last year's winner of the lead actor in a drama series award, was nominated again for "Boston Legal." Other nominees were Hank Azaria for "Huff," Hugh Laurie for "House," Ian McShane for "Deadwood" and Kiefer Sutherland for "24." Film star Glenn Close, who joined "The Shield" last season, received a bid as best lead actress in a drama series. Other nominees were Frances Conroy of "Six Feet Under," Jennifer Garner of "Alias," Mariska Hargitay of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and first-time Emmy nominee Patricia Arquette of "Medium." In addition to "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers," which dramatized the life of the great comic film star, and "Warm Springs," which recounted Franklin D. Roosevelt's struggle with polio before he became president, other nominees in the TV movie category were "Lackawanna Blues," "The Office Special" and "The Wool Cap." Elvis Presley scored again in the outstanding miniseries category as "Elvis" garnered six nominations including one for its star, Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The lead nominee, with 10 bids was "Empire Falls," and other contenders included "The 4400" and "The Lost Prince."

The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 This year: What's with the Huff nominations? That's some of the worst garbage I've ever seen. Hank Azaria must have paid them off. Conan O'Brien is going to lose (again) in a category he deserves to win (again) to the only mildly funny and captivating Daily Show. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition deserves to win the Reality Show category (again). Why it lost last year to "Queer Eye", I have no goddamn clue. While The OC sucked this year, Rachel Bilson surely deserves a nod over Blythe Danner. I can think of several episodes they could have sent showcasing her acting abilities. Boo Emmys. Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 Glenn Close gets the only Shield nod...give me a break Congrats to CCH Pounder on finally getting nominated. Seriously, she's been criminally overlooked by the voters despite putting in stellar performances every year on the Shield. Glenn Close also deserves some kudos for her nod. Damn shame that Anthony Anderson got overlooked. Also, major props for Terry O'Quinn's nod, as he brilliantly portrays one of the best characters on television.
