Prime Time Andrew Doyle Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 When is the release date for it, because HMV in Australia has Box 1 listed as coming out on August 22 2005, could that be 22 September?
Guest The Iron Yuppie Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 When is the release date for it, because HMV in Australia has Box 1 listed as coming out on August 22 2005, could that be 22 September? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's usually one-two months after the US/Canada release date, so if it isn't available in the US at the moment, I wouldn't expect a September release in Australia. Shock.com.au (the distributer of WWE DVDs in Australia) lists the Box 1 release date as being 115 days from now, which would make sense if it has an October/November release in America and Canada.
Guest MikeSC Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Holy shit, I forgot Tenryu was in WWF. Well, I know which set I'm buying first. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a really bad Tenryu match. Demolition and Kitao & Tenryu was a heatless blah match. Doesn't showcase his talents at all.
slabinskia Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I like how everyone complains about wmIV being so long. There are only about 5 minutes seperating wmIV-VII.Maybe it is because wmIV is on 2 tapes on chv and v-vii are on 1 tape.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 No, it's because 4 keeps giving the same boring mid-card bouts "Bravo...Muraco...Roberts/Rude snoozer...Bigelow...Gang...Reed...Valentine..." POWERRRRRRR WRESTLERSSSS!!! FOREARMS!!! BEAR HUG!!! Hey everyone let's take a break from these guys and bring out HERCULES and ULTIMATE WARRIOR. Shoot me. While WM 7, not without flaws, at least attempts to push fresh acts, including a good Rockers/Heenan Family match, putting guys like Tornado, Mountie, Earthquake, and LOD over fairly convincingly, having an EPIC Retirement Match which still can bring tears to the ol' eye (mark!), a megaover Bossman challenging Perfect, and a main event that while lost steam, was better than Savage/DiBiase just because by the end of WM 4, the crowd was all on Elm Street.

It showcased alot of new talents, had an one of the better openers that tends to get forgotten to easily, a main event that was better then it should have been (The storyline is why it's so badly revered), an epic and touching retirement match that pulled the perfect execution of entertainment. I think it's the weak story for the main event and the flood of matches that gave people a bad taste for WM7. WM 4-5-6-7 all had that "Put on 13-15 matches" formula and WM7 was the best offering in a complete package.
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I love WMVII. Heenan and Gorilla are super, too. I love Hennan and Monsoon's interaction during the Tenryu/Kitao vs Demolition match. "YOu'd have trouble if his name was Fred" "His name is Fred Kitao?" I've been refering to Kitao as Fred Kitao ever since.
Jericholic82 Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 so the instant replay debate segment is cut from wm 7? however or wm 6 it doesnt mention the prematch demolition or collosal conenction interviews, but does have the later demo one (which was cut on my legacy box set vhs) and someone made an error cuz I didnt know steve allen played piano at wm 17 (in fact wasnt he dead by then? lol)
Styles Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 and someone made an error cuz I didnt know steve allen played piano at wm 17 (in fact wasnt he dead by then? lol) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He died earlier that year and they replayed that segment with him from an earlier WM to commemorate him.
Guest Sykotic2002 Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 I hope the edited doesn't mean Jesse Ventura's commentary will be editied out. That would be horrible.

And Jesse wont be edited out as we have discussed that issue many times before. anything already relased by wwf/e on video is fair game, its his wcw work that has to be edited.
Lil' Bitch Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 That's too bad these DVDs won't have extras on them, I just hope the PPVs are in their full entirety with the CHV extras still included.
Perfxion Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 WM4 and WM5 are neck and neck for the most boring WMs. They go on forever. WM5 has like 20 matches and by the time Savage faces Hogan, I am completely burned out. WM4 is nothing but steroid monsters wrestling steroid monsters. Every match just drags. The tag title swtich is the best match on the card. And when the Demos are in match of the night, you know you are in trouble. As for WM1 through 14, what extras could they really do? Have Jr and whoever is alive from the match do an alt audio?
tpww7 Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 They could add little packages showcasing what led to certain matches, promos building up to the matches...etc.

That was on a previously released video....
landy1987 Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 Silvervision says on their website there are no extras at all

ChrisMWaters Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 You know...re-watching WrestleMania X-Seven... How the hell are they going to edit all the WWF name mentions and such? I mean, WWF New York...calling The Rock the WWF Champion...the Australian fan saying "WWF Rules"... Something's gotta give.
Fökai Posted September 26, 2005 Author Report Posted September 26, 2005 All "WWF" mentions, as already done on previous DVD releases, are going to be edited out with dead air. As you know, they CAN say World Wrestling Federation.

Styles Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 You know, I might just be mishearing things, but am I correct on recent releases they've just started muting the "F" leaving the "WW" part?

At least the commentary for WM III won't be touched. Jesse's commentary in Hogan/Andre reminds me of why he's the greatest color commentator in history.
Slickster Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 You know, I might just be mishearing things, but am I correct on recent releases they've just started muting the "F" leaving the "WW" part? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly, that's what they do on the Warrior DVD; they leave the promos and everything intact and mute the 'F.' They also blur the letters 'WWF' whenever they appear on screen.

When showing the WWF title match between Backlund and the Iron Sheik on the "Greatest Stars of the 80's" set, the "WWF" part of the on-screen graphic announcing the main event is blurred.
