Read the comic this week. A good read. If it's really loyal to the comic it's not as much of an action film as the teasers would make you think. The speeches alone are worth the price of admission.

He's quite possibly the greatest comic book writer in history, but look at the films that they've made out of his works: The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, From Hell, Constantine, and the various Swamp Thing opuses. Hollywood has consistently taken his books, which were incredibly deep and intellectual, and turned them into dumbass action thrillers. I'd be pissed too.

From what I understand, despite Moore's stance on it (he's perpetually cranky, i dont think anything would ever please him), its actually very faithful. i can pick out most all the scenes from the trailer and the comic.

Yeah, Battlefield Earth was fucking lame, but it looks like a masterpiece when you compare it to something like Manos: The Hands of Fate or anything Ed Wood ever did.

It would be nigh-impossible to actually have a faithful Hellblazer or Moore-era Swamp Thing movie. God, did they ever fuck the dog with LXG, though. That one would NOT have been that hard to faithfully adapt at all. Some of the obscure references would be lost, but it's a straight-up good adventure yarn. You have to have hyde eatting people and ripping them the fuck apart.
