ESPN sucks, so do thread closers

Recommended Posts

Now if Disney would only force ESPN to cancel things like paintball and hot dog eating.

I understand the need for filler, but at least with scripted sports like wrestling you get something resembling athleticism. Hot dog eating?

The biggest problem is poker. I understand it's popular and all, but when there's repeats being shown on ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Classic simultaneously... that is crazy.

The plans for those phones were awful. Typical plans were ~80 bucks for 200 minutes and such. Terrible.

The idea behind having a mobile sports package itself is brilliant, but there's no need for a completely new phone service. Maybe they should be working on a package that's a few bucks a month that allows you to have scrolling scores and breaking news sent to your phone. And make it available on every network.

would it hurt Classic Sports to show actual classic games once in a while and not show constant poker and sport centuries?....or other clipped events..yeesh

Please let them lay off Stuart Scott (along with a few dozen others I'm thinking of) in a cost-cutting move.

and send Scott Van Pelt to the scrap heap as well.

Yes. It costs money. Seriously the reason, as ESPN was already under pressure from companies that didn't want to pick the channel up because of it's price.

ESPN told to pull the plug on Mobile ESPN

Estimated that Disney will lose $135 million on the experiment.

$135 million? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA HAH HA HA

They deserve every bit of that. Besides being an over priced serviced that's not really needed, they incur my wrath soley for those god awful commercials. THIS ISN'T LIKE SPORTS ON YOUR CURRENT PHONE OK?

I pray for that day, but I have the feeling Scott is untouchable.

Boo Yeah. Last week on one of those I love the 70's show. Stu Scott said he was trying to avoid being arrested when he was 17.

Van Pelt was fine on the Golf Channel.

Now he's too cocky and a "character" like most annoying ESPN types.

Who really wants to watch video on a small two inch screen anyway, while listening through a little speaker? I've never understood the appeal. Plus, spending all that money each month for the content is idiotic.

Looking for something to watch on TV earlier I foolishly tried the ESPN's and found The Contender on 1 and Poker on 2. Now I look for something to watch and they've got Poker on 1 and The Contender on 2. SUCH VARIETY.

These constant My Wish segments are nausiating. They have been showing them all week, on every show on the 3 networks (1/2/News) several times a day. They just love to pat themselves on the back, and make sure we all know how great they all are for their "charitable" work.

It doesn't bother me too much. I enjoy seeing the happiness on the children's faces. To see the kids have a moment of happiness during their struggle is touching.

The My Wish segments are overly sappy and I'm not sure they really should be on TV, but I can't really fault them since it's for a good cause. The kids always look incredibly thrilled, and having ESPN there filming it means they'll have a tape of the experience for the rest of their lives.

They probably should have cut down on the amount of the My Wish things...

Like, the kid who's probably dying soon who got to coach the Eagles, that was really sweet.

But, then there's some 6-year old kid who had heart surgery as a baby, and he gets to play with Tedi Bruschi. Meh... first off, he basically had no idea what was going on, and he's fine now, so it didn't really "touch the heart".

When I was 6 years old, I'm sure I didn't know or recognize a single professional athlete or personality. Maybe the San Diego Chicken, but that's about it.

When I was little, Magic Johnson was the guy that I wanted to meet. Eventually, I did, but I didn't have the slightest idea of a thing to say.
