Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 Bill Plasckie could probably find a cracked-out whore. Rachel Nichols would have no problem getting some. Jackie McMullen would have a snowballs chance in hell of getting any. Same with Bob Ryan.
Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 Smtih is married and has a kid. Marriorti is gay according to Ozzie. Woddy Paige has been divorced 3 times. But it's good to see Kevin Blackistone back on ATH.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 Weren't the writers praising Detroit/Ontario for being really good hosts thanks to the casinos and such? Jacksonville? Yeah, that's basically a nothing town that really probably never should've hosted the game. I remember writers complaining about how Glendale had nothing except the stadium during bowl week, so unless they fix things before next year, writers will find time to complain about the lack of things to do. Might as well stick to having the game in San Diego/Miami/New Orleans and be done with the other sites because obviously that plays such an important role in the quality of the game. Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted January 24, 2007 Glendale is basically a giant suburb, I think. Sportswriters are going to have to hang out at Chili's and Applebee's. I'd suggest that New Orleans would be the permanent Super Bowl host once the Saints bail in 5 years or sooner, but that means the games would have to be played at the crappy Superdome every.single.year. What a dismal place to play. I hate domes.

Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted January 24, 2007 The Rose Bowl is no longer considered a suitable venue with regard to luxury suites and stuff, and the league said they won't play a Super Bowl in Los Angeles until there's a team there, which is kind of a catch-22, because maybe if LA built a Super Bowl-quality stadium, they could prove that they should get the Rams back where they belong get some expansion team or the Jags or something. They're right. There's fuck all around there, and all those west suburbs around Phoenix. And the west side is scary.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 I don't usually try to defend Vitale but quite a few of the things on that list did at least have some basic connection to the teams playing in that U of L vs. UConn game. I mean the talk about Duke probably came up during a retro look at U of L's last NCAA title win in 1986. If inclined I'd imagine you could watch any game on ESPN and make a similar list like this. Mik 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 I actually really enjoy Dickie V. He's annoying sometimes with his Duke love, but I met him at the Dean Dome twice and his enthusiasm translates well on the air.

hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 I actually really enjoy Dickie V. "I'm the most overpaid, overexposed sports announcer in history, baby! All I have to do to collect a paycheck is yell baby a few times, baby! If I did nothing more for the sport of college basketball and just showed up a few times and yelled like a madman, the college basketball nation would embrace me, baby!" What a waste of space. Seattle, New England, Cleveland, Cincy, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Phili, New York, Washington. Sure it can be sunny, but most likely the grass/turf is going to be wet, frozen or muddy. Broward83 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2007 I get it ESPN... Lovie Smith.. Tony Dungy... both are black. Both are head coaches. Both are coaching the Super Bowl this Sunday. Fuckin stop already with the constant drilling of "OMG!~ Blizzack coaches in da No Fun League! How willz the world react?!" Sorry.. I'm glad the two of 'em are coaching in the game. Glad to see minority coaches reaching a league championship game. Just fucking tired of everytime I turn on ESPN I have to hear about them being black. How about we actually you know, hype the game.. breakdown how Rex will do against an AFC team when he's had a poor QB rating against AFC teams. Just anything except Lovie and Tony being black coaches...

Guest Smues Report post Posted February 9, 2007 My not-Tivo just barely caught PTI's big finish yesterday (it stopped recording less than 2 seconds after it ended) because it was delayed so much. I need to re-iterate my hatred of how they moved the big finish into Sports Center. Fuck you ESPN.
